game is excellent but its worst in a sh series thats why it has low score reviews also it didnt help that they draw inspiration from weak movie and used pyramid head just for fun because he is important character in probably one of the best games ever created,

that and because konami dont pay for advertising as capcom,rockstar or eagames do.

but normal people know the difference,and true fan love every sh game more or less but every since they are all excellent

I agree with you that even though it was one of the weaker entries in the series, it is still a good game.

I thought "Homecoming" was an awesome game. I just got into Silent Hill myself, having played Homecoming before any of the other ones, but it seems to me like it does a much better job of capturing the atmosphere than people give it credit for.

I think the reason why each SH was different is because the main character differed. Silent Hill is the town of punishment, in representation of all your negative feelings, and these things differ from person to person. May have differed the fun factor, but that's my explanation as to why each SH were different. I only played HC and The Room, but I truly love the series, and SH alone.

A lot of people complain about SH:origins, SH:homecoming, and SH4. In my opinion this is the result of the case that the first silent hill (which was outstanding) had a different atmosphere. SH2, and SH3 was really similar to 1, and it "defines SH style", as a lot of people think. Well no. Each game is part of the whole silent hill series, each with different atmosphere, with SH1, 2 and 3, and Origins-Homecoming being similar. If all SHs had the same style, it would get boring... just think...

The storyline was good, but the game play wasn't the best. It seemed fairly linear in comparison to the older games, with locked or broken doorways leaving you little choice of where to go. It got rid of a lot of the suspense of the game, in my opinion.
