  • I am more or less an agnostic. However I am open to all possibilities in the universe of immense complexity. Growing up in the Irish Catholic environment gave me a sense of the desperation in the hearts of people. Life is such a flash in the pan. When your poor and trying to survive there is little time to contemplate the great mysteries of life. In desperation we turn to God. Much of the world is mired in fantasy that is destroying us. This beautiful song however represents a compelling joy.

  • I remember a few years ago, (it had been at least 3 months since I had been to church)during service this song came on during praise and worship I slipped up and said out loud "oh $@*!, this is my song". Luckily, no one heard me but the Lord because I was truly forgiven for that one. I guess I had slid back into the world and I was happy to be in the house again hearing my favorite song. Now whenever I heard this song I laugh, and I hope the Lord has a sense of humor and laughs with me.

  • I Think that is Richard Smallwood

  • Yes aracelilaw and RoyceRoyal1987 that is Richard Smallwood directing the choir, but that isnt his choir though but they still rocking the house.

  • The guy at 1:05 was hilarious, giving the other guys their part

  • the bald head guy discreetly did it with the guy next to him too .... lol

You always got the ones that don't come to rehearsal but the first one there at a performance lol

  • Yup... and you always have people in the choir who really want to be director so they make horrible faces when they hear an off note lol

  • Now THIS is an ole skool Jam! We sung this @ my state convocation and 'couldn't stop'! Did the same person who wrote this write "Worship The Lord"? They have the same ending

  • No, Ricky Grundy and Herman Netter wrote "Call Him Up" and Edwin Hawkins wrote "Worship The Lord" located on his lp, "Tell The Angels" I believe.

  • Thats an oldie but, goodies. I likkkkkkkke.

  • This is Praise and Worship at its best This song does something to me

  • It's on a cassette titled "True Victory." I found a website that sells it, but they wanted $20 for shipping!!!

  • I thought Ron Kenoly wrote this and released it first

  • i love his version!! i made sure that i purchased that CD for my collection.

  • Actually the can't stop part of this medley was written by Ricky Grundy . It's on the Sleeve of Ron Kenoly's

  • I thought that the Florida Mass Choir did an earlier recording of this...

It doesn't matter though b/c I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!

  • This is one of my favorites when I am in the Lord's house, I love this song

  • Does anyone know which CD of Keith Pringle's this is on. I heard this for the first time yesterday morning and loved it!

  • Keith Pringle and the Pentecostal Community Choir.. it may be the 1st cd recorded by them

  • The "album" was titled "True Victory," and it was done by Keith Pringle & the Pentecostal Community Choir live at Cornerstone Baptist in LA. Originally recorded by Savoy Records and released in the early 80s... I have it on vinyl. Good luck in finding it on CD...Don't think it was ever re-released. But who knows?

  • Who ORIGINALLY did this song. I mean the one you used to hear on the radio...the REALLY long version with the lady screaming in the background while they kept repeating.."Can't stop praising his name...I just can't stop praising his name..etc"

I REALLY want to find this song...

  • Original done by a choir directed by Rev. Keith Pringle, so just google that name and the title " Call him up"

  • Thanks!!

  • This song has taken me back to Sumter, SC!!! Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church when Albert Linton and Terry Law were the ministers of music. We use to sing this song on the MH Newton Mass Choir. I was in high school at the time. What a great experience!!

  • I LOVE IT! We do it in a medley: If you confess-> Are you ready?-> Pass Me Not-> All In HIS Hands-> Can't Stop
