Bourdais makes it easy in the Champs Cars, but can find a Formula 1 team. Speed as an american thinks his good but cant follow the pace in Formula 1. I mostly agree. I hate it when American acts like IRL, NASCAR and ChampCar is all that and everything outside America is whack. One of the few driver who actually had success in F1 and America is Juan-Pablo Montoya(CART/ChampCar). Legend Alessandro Zanardi is one of the best drivers i've seen in ChampCar and (now) in the World Touring Car Championship, but it didn't work to score points in Formula 1, twice. I respect Zanardi a lot, but it's the truth.
I never said that anything outside of America is not any good. I've gotten up at 5:30 on Sunday morning many times to see the start of an F1 race, because I love racing. I'm the guy that complains when a driver does a burn out. Who would treat a good, fast, winning race engine like that? I have devoted quite a lot to racing myself. It's difficult to appreciate how many hours "the guys and gals" pulling wrenches and organizing sponsor agreements, etc. put in every week.
If you think the talent of a driver is based on geography, or the history of the Mercedes well, I hate to say it but your full of shit. Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart like them or not, are talented drivers that win. It makes no difference if it's open wheel or stock car, dirt, asphalt or concrete. High banked 202 mph oval, flat paper-clip half mile bull ring, road course, super-speedway, go-carts or remote controlled cars.
It makes no difference where a person lives or what language they speak. In fact the South East of the states is considered racing country. So you can say that the only good drivers here come from North or South Carolina, Alabama and so on, but that's not true. Kurt Bush is one of the most talented drivers in Cup, very young and already a champion. He and his little brother (rookie currently forth in the points) are from Las Vegas were there is practically no racing or race fans.
Personally I think that traction control, sequential gearboxes with electric shift, light weight chassis with more down-force and greater grip are not something for a driver to hang his hat on. Sliding a 3600 pound car with 800 horsepower on 4 skinny Goodyear Eagles and a standard 4 H shift transmission through the corners, or better yet "not sliding" is more a testament to driver skill.
Personally I don't find Nascar very entertaining but maybe it's because I don't know alot about the sport. I think you need to have some knowledge to enjoy it.

Also, break bias is a much larger factor on an oval than it is on a road course. It can be used to fine tune the cars entrance into the corner or the pivot in the center of the corner. On a street course you just tune in as much front brake as you can without locking the front tire.
Still it are the amrican who say that european racing is boring and shit like that. I as a european think european racing is technacly far more evolved than amarican racing. Look at the Champs cars or the Indy cars. They look like Formula 1 cars early 90's. Formula 1 is the only one true racing formula. Just admit it!

No. Alonso has potential and already one of the best drivers in the formula one but the next season will tell if he is really outstanding or just a good driver who's lucky to sit in a very good and stabil car.

Last few races Fisico was faster then Alonso so its turning around. And alonso has only proven he can win with the best car & with no preasure. As in carting and other categories Alonso has always made mistakes under preasure, which divides real champions from other drivers.

You obviously lack the short track bull ring knowledge. Yes at Bristol, 1/2 mile 36 degrees of banking on a slippery concrete surface. If someone is slower than you, you have 2 options to pass. Go around on the outside, leaving yourself vulnerable to picking up garbage on the tires, getting body slammed, or getting freight trained. Or the wiser choice would be a nudge. You act like these great European drivers would do different. lol

And what's more: a european can easily make it in america while not be good enough for european racing. Ans the other way around it's not even close like that! Bourdais makes it easy in the Champs Cars, but can find a Formula 1 team. Speed as an american thinks his good but cant follow the pace in Formula 1. Common europe still is the standard in racing, we invented racing cars (Mercedes) did. No discussion possible here.

I mostly agree. I hate it when American acts like IRL, NASCAR and ChampCar is all that and everything outside America is whack. One of the few driver who actually had success in F1 and America is Juan-Pablo Montoya(CART/ChampCar). Legend Alessandro Zanardi is one of the best drivers i've seen in ChampCar and (now) in the World Touring Car Championship, but it didn't work to score points in Formula 1, twice. I respect Zanardi a lot, but it's the truth.

I never said that anything outside of America is not any good. I've gotten up at 5:30 on Sunday morning many times to see the start of an F1 race, because I love racing. I'm the guy that complains when a driver does a burn out. Who would treat a good, fast, winning race engine like that? I have devoted quite a lot to racing myself. It's difficult to appreciate how many hours "the guys and gals" pulling wrenches and organizing sponsor agreements, etc. put in every week.

If you think the talent of a driver is based on geography, or the history of the Mercedes well, I hate to say it but your full of shit. Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart like them or not, are talented drivers that win. It makes no difference if it's open wheel or stock car, dirt, asphalt or concrete. High banked 202 mph oval, flat paper-clip half mile bull ring, road course, super-speedway, go-carts or remote controlled cars.

It makes no difference where a person lives or what language they speak. In fact the South East of the states is considered racing country. So you can say that the only good drivers here come from North or South Carolina, Alabama and so on, but that's not true. Kurt Bush is one of the most talented drivers in Cup, very young and already a champion. He and his little brother (rookie currently forth in the points) are from Las Vegas were there is practically no racing or race fans.

Personally I think that traction control, sequential gearboxes with electric shift, light weight chassis with more down-force and greater grip are not something for a driver to hang his hat on. Sliding a 3600 pound car with 800 horsepower on 4 skinny Goodyear Eagles and a standard 4 H shift transmission through the corners, or better yet "not sliding" is more a testament to driver skill.

Personally I don't find Nascar very entertaining but maybe it's because I don't know alot about the sport. I think you need to have some knowledge to enjoy it.

And on another note I disagree with you. The way I read what you wrote it sounded as if you dismissed F1 drivers, syaing it wasn't something to "hang his hat on" . There's so much more to F1 racing than the actual 'turn corners, brake, accelerate'. The drivers are constantly changing their Brake diff. Balance etc....

Also, break bias is a much larger factor on an oval than it is on a road course. It can be used to fine tune the cars entrance into the corner or the pivot in the center of the corner. On a street course you just tune in as much front brake as you can without locking the front tire.

Last few races Fisico was faster then Alonso so its turning around. And alonso has only proven he can win with the best car & with no preasure. As in carting and other categories Alonso has always made mistakes under preasure, which divides real champions from other drivers.

Unfortunately Ferrari always had the best machines (these last 2 years Renault & Mclaren have improved), that's the only reason to explain MS winning the championships, and the reason for many people to think that F1 turned pretty boring ;)
