It is made from magnesium, which is very light but durable. In my opinion it looks elegant but also a bit "industrial like" because it has no round corners like the macbook. But I like that more instead of those stylish "paris hilton" or whatsoever notebooks.
I tired it with css source on recommended setting and this laptop is a gaming laptop in disguise it only gets up to 60 to 70 FPS and that was on small arena maps and surf maps but its still pretty KICK ASS
@NorthHuffman HAHHAHAHAHAHAHA u be trollin! source engine is the lowest end game engine there is and yet it manages amazing graphics to boot. (that is why we love it) and you might be able to run it at high/very high.
Was thinking of buying this laptop myself but i think it was to expensive. Need it for traveling mostly. Need something that is stabile and doesnt break when you sneeze on it :). I bought Dell Latitude D631 instead.

You gave up a Mac laptop for a Dell E6400, I would never do that. I own a MacBook Pro and its the most amazing laptop i have ever owned. I have been using windows PC's and Laptops all my life.
What were the problems you were having with the Mac Laptop?
i like macs too, but.. over the time using them... they drive you kind of crazy, even with its unique platforming,.. dell is a windows vista based laptop, and i gotta tell you, its bleeding stable.and can play games mac users would never play, thats why they install windows on there macs.. dont get me wrong macbooks. arre a elegant nice piece of hardware.. im thinking of buying one.. for college. but windows is my main os.
Thanks for the review, I'm probably going to get one of these. You could probably use some better lighting next time you do a review though, kind of hard to see sometimes.
Good first part of the review. I lost a HUGE amount of respect for Apple when they removed the Firewire port from the MacBook. Forcing people with MiniDV cameras to step up to a MacBook Pro is a really dumb decision in this economy. Major fail for Apple if you ask me. I, too, have moved back to Windows for this reason. I'm using a Core i7 desktop build and am researching a new laptop to go with it. Thanks for the review.
dell latitudes are horrible. i have one and it worked 4 about 4 months (sorta) and then the screen messed up, then the hard drive, then everything else. the screen is horrible. the track pad is horrible and there's only one USB. i give it 2 thumbs down!
Well, I think you had a different Latitude. MY Latitude has 4 USB ports (to be seen in my video) and the display is not "horrible". I am also very happy about the trackpad.
If your screen broke I am sorry for you but on the other hand if you really had this Latitude you should not bother about that because you have 3 years of warranty (like I do).
The keyboard is great. No loose buttons and they have a nice pressure point. The pointing stick is ok. I have to get used to it, so every now and then I try it but I use more often the trackpad. Despite that the stick is very precise too.
im getting one of these, gonna put hackintosh and windows 7 on it. :)

Nice review! Can you tell me what kind of material has made the chassis? Aluminum? Plastic? Does that seem solid and elegant?
Thanks :)

Beneath this is a contactless smart card reader.

can you put in a mouse? and how does it handle with video games?
NorthHuffman 2 years ago
Yeah, of course. It has four USB ports, so you can use an USB mouse.
It also handles PC games like Battlefield 2 or so. I would say it should handle all games before 2006 or 2007.

macbook pro - are for retards.
Same money save to buy an intel SSD and it will run circles around your macbook, and be more useful. OSX = for simpletons to do simple work.
PCs = for that dont pretend to think different but do, and do work, and have real jobs (not just blog).
