Monstrously played, Joe, and great ears, too. Thanks for taking Your time recording and posting it. Always looking forward for more Don Vincenzo licks :)
@antoniglesias Check out the MasterClass section on my website (link in the video description). I have an hour long video on bass drum technique in there.
Hi Joe. I love the fact that you can transcribe, then learn to play and explain all this amazing stuff. But I worry about what must be going on between Vinnies ears for him to come up with it in the first place!
@BarefootAndrew I wouldn't worry about it :) Years of playing, messing around with a lot of Gary Chaffee stuff, doing 3 sessions a day. That's what it comes down to. I'm basically writing down what a poet says so you can say it too. I'm not writing poetry. i'm hoping that by reading enough poetry it'll inspire me to come up with new ideas of my own.
why do all drum teachers think that its helpful to sound out all 1ea+2ea+ etc and just say one of them louder? soooo annoying!!! just say the ones you want us to know!!!
@carlrobinson114 It's because if you just say 1 a + e you may not know which a + e are being talked about. It's also quicker than saying "the and of 1, the e of 2 and the and, err of 4". Also, and probably most importantly, I don't always know what the accents are, so I'm saying it for my benefit ;)
@alessaul03 I can't post links in the comments, but I posted the Baked Potato vid on my Facebook page a couple of days ago. You can get the link to my Facebook page in the video description.
Nice playing man! Very well explained!
