I bought a 1984 four wheel Keystone model for$ 600.00 on Craigs list. It sat unused for 6-7 years, needed cleaned up ect.everything works great! Fits on my 1972 GMC lifted 4x4 like a glove.I guess the difference in being satisfied and unsatisfied is only a matter of price paid for the product received.
@Mr291229 only the FWC Keystone model is large enough for an inside shower/bathroom. Most FWC or ATC owners have some type of porta potty- ingenious toilet solutions can be found at wanderthewest(dot com). Some have outdoor shower options, and some owners have designed equally ingenious indoor shower solutions. The zodi extreme shower is particularly popular with FWC/ATC owners, some modify the shower head with a kitchen sprayer for better showers.
ipcactus is a unconvincing troll. Head over to wanderthewest or expeditionportal (dot com) and you will find dozens, no hundreds of enthusiastic FWC and ATC owners, eager to help each other out. Leaks can and do happen but they are rare and always can be fixed. There are no design flaws. And it is laughable to suggest you can't sell your 2002 Hawk, used FWC's are gone in a heartbeat on craigslist or ebay. Again, check the forum if you don't believe me.
I bought a bare shell "Hawk" model back in 2002,- took delivery of it in Vancouver B.C. Paid $9000.00 Canadian for what I was led to believe was the best camper available for back road/ 4x4 exploring.
Hey Turtle Expedition people, I spent the last of my savings during very lean and tough times based on the glowing reports you posted of this campers performance in eastern Siberia. Other unhappy 4 wheel camper owners that spoke to you relayed to me how you really felt about this camper. Hey you cant upset your sponsors, right?
First day out we drove to the Ucluelet through 2 hours of heavy rain, rear back up lights fell off somewhere along the way. When we popped the top to sleep that night the upper bunk mattress was soaked through like a sponge - this is not an exaggeration, it was exactly as if someone had dumped 5 gallons of water on my bed, it leaked that bad. This camper is unusable in rain cold and dust.
4 wheel told me to take it to an RV repair shop where it stayed a few weeks. The shop owner finally called and said to come get it, 4 wheel told him it was a design flaw - it couldn't actually be fixed. This is just one of the major disappointments I've had with this piece of junk. I still have this camper only because I can't in good conscience sell it without mentioning it's serious problems, which I think makes me a little better person than the previously mentioned turtle people.
If you come across these same comments posted to other youtube videos while researching 4 wheel campers, please dont just write them off as the work of some crank. Please understand I intend to post them every chance I get, partly for revenge I admit it- but also as a warning. I really dont get how people can base a business on routine lying and stealing like its just all in a days work. Maybe you might choose not to believe me but at least I tried.
i never see this kind of truck in Hong Kong, but i'm really thanks to you because i can see there has lots of functional trucks out there in the world. Keep us update :)
They have a 16000 BTU forced air furnace. It works great on my Hawk model. Check out the option list. This is an old video, they have redone their windows.
you bring your water with you, 20 gallon capacity on the Grandy. Power comes from your engine via a hot wire charge, or from optional solar panels or a generatot. You will need a second battery to hold that charge.Fridge can be run on propane. FWC and ATC (rival company founded by former owner of FWC) follow the KISS (keep it simple, stupid) model, less is more etc.
Yeah, so when it starts pouring cats and dogs in the middle of the night, you can get out there in your under-laundry's and soak your fanny closing all the windows.
Still a nice camper, that's for sure. My '92 four wheel camper has the flaps to the inside, but that was all new canvas replaced right before I bought it. I wouldn't know any advantages to the windows on this one here in the video.

@imixmuan, from your last post one could get the idea that you work for FWC.
Clever insult the way you misspell my username like that. I wont lower myself like that though, don't need to - I'm telling the truth.
Anyone who would like to see for themselves and just happens to be in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan need only knock on my door. I'm at 422C Berini Drive.

Yeah, so when it starts pouring cats and dogs in the middle of the night, you can get out there in your under-laundry's and soak your fanny closing all the windows.

Not any more. They use a three panal design that works from the inside - screen, clear panal and privacy panel.
