check out live at the syrian mosque in pittsburg. bruford on drums. prob the best recording with him, especially on dance on a volcano. they even play the real ending which really rocks. i would put that up with chester, maybe even a bit better.
I was at this show - the Hamburg 76 show and was at the LAmb 75 Hamburg - true psychedelic prog experience to top all…$th row center right under the lazer with about 10 grams of green Moroccan and a few blotter hits - I was peaking about the time of Supper
But the Video contains some instrumental parts (Phil plays the drums!) und some parts with vocals, but there are no cuts in between so it must be 1 song...
I think it's a collection of clips from different songs played in that show. Considering the limited technology, The taper probably just filmed once in a while during the concert.
Well, Bruford always said that he never really had an affinity for Genesis's music, but he tried to do his best as a hired gun. I guess his lack of caring shows in his playing. However, his playing on "Cinema Show" on 'Seconds Out' is the exception, because his love of playing weird time signatures comes to the fore in the second half.
To date this is the first audio I have heard where there was obviously a problem with Bruford gelling with the band on that tour. That was never a secret with the band and here it is. Wow, a brilliant drummer but it is just not working on Squonk. Other tracks sounded OK with Bruford I thought but not this. He was good on Apocolypse in 9/8 though.
I've a sneaking suspicion that this is audio recorded on the 1976 tour with BB on drums, that was initially to be included on Seconds Out. When the band heard the later recordings from 1977 with Chester, Hentchel & Genesis decided Chester's versions were better. The quality of this recording, though it's rough, I'm sure was meant to be polished for the new live album (which became Sec's.Out). I betcha' this is one of those recordings. No offense Bill, you're a god, but Chester nails it.
Is the audio from the Pittsburgh or Cleveland shows? Magog you are the greatest. Tommygun is a ripoff artists who unfortunately has rare footage, but you sir post it for the fans and for historic purposes it seems. God I wish full shows like this would come out in the future someway. Especially from the 78 tour.

Bruford´s drumming on that song is better than Collins´ and Thompson´s.

Esto es una gran falta de respeto hacia a quienes amamos al grupo. No es el video para este tema.

That's mysterious...
The Audio is Squonk, for sure :D
But the Video contains some instrumental parts (Phil plays the drums!) und some parts with vocals, but there are no cuts in between so it must be 1 song...
Maybe Fifth of Fifth!?
The end looks like Carpet Crawlers...
But it's the Trick of the Tail Tour 1976.

Bill Bruford is an inventive drummer, but not a rock or phat drummer. A little on the stiff at times with Genesis. Chester was a far better fit.
