Love the car! It is perfection. The color, Highland Green, is Magnificent!. Some of the green 59s had green convertible tops too. As for the restoration, it sure look in the video to be 1st rate...
@slayboomer That's really cool...it would be great to be seen, and maybe even drive either the hardtop or the convertible, as a youngster! Instant status with your peers! Thanks!
@bartonlabelle Hey, Barton! I don't own this car, just videoed it. This car appeared in Daytona, maybe a month before Thanksgiving....I saw no "for sale" sign on it, and I can only assume it's not for sale. Thanks! :) Jack
I don't get why someone would order a convertible car and not order the optional power windows. It is very rare to see this option on lower priced cars of this era.
@starladear002 As I remember, power windows were fairly rare in low priced cars in the 50's..they were usually reserved for the higher priced Olds, Cadillacs, Lincolns, etc. Although power windows may have been an option, perhaps not many were equipped with them coming down the line. Many buyers of low priced cars had a skepticism about power equipment...not only windows, but power brakes and steering..it would take time to change minds. Thanks! :) Jack
if i could hav any car in the world, it would be a 59 chevy. either an el camino, impala convertible of a bel iar 2 door post window. these beasts are magic!
@gibsonrocker1995 Hey, Owen! My favorite would be the Impala convertible...but then if I had to haul anything, it would be the El Camino! You can't go wrong with these! Thanks! :) Jack
I completely agree with you Jack, this is one of the most beautiful '59's I've ever seen too, except the colour .... It should of course, be Red/White, then it would be an unblemished specimen of perfection :D
@drewerz01 Hey, Mike! I will immediately inform the owner! LOL! I'm sure he's making an appointment at his paint shop now! :D I know what you mean, though...something can be perfect in its own right, but not exactly to the specification we would have chosen. I'm agreeing, though..red is the color for convertibles! Thanks! :D Jack
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I didn't see this VIDEO Jack! This is the nicest one I have ever seen. I even love the color. WOW, perfect is right. For my tastes I am not a fan of the added tail light thing that is so popular on older cars. I don't get it. lol
@gene978 Hey, Gene! Yeah, I sure could find not one thing that could be improved...and the blue dot tailight was popular back in the day, I really don't know why! Perhaps it was a mod you could make in lighting and not get in trouble with the law. Lighting restrictions were very tight back in the day. Thanks! :) Jack
Would make a perfect lowrider
