  • love this song

  • She is a good singer, and very cute but her voice s a bit childish don't you think? xx

  • @BubblezCuteGirl She IS a child!

  • @cliftongal51 well said!! :)

  • i love this :')

  • wow ... sprachlos !!! echt ..

  • Amazing.

  • That white guy is touching that kid:o

  • I AM WALKING IN THE AIIIR *shreek*

  • This sound so cute! She's really talented!

  • Seems it was 1985! Nevertheless Channel 4. I must be ... younger than I thought.

  • "The Snowman" was an unknown new film on our new fourth television channel in Britain, Channel 4, way back in 1982. No satellite TV in those days, no cable. I remember how delight turned to pure enchantment when Aled Jones began to sing this song - and the boy and the snowman took flight. No doubt Connie Talbot is a genius and much-loved (her fans certainly champion her very aggressively) but those of us who saw the original are allowed to cherish it. Including the voice of Aled Jones.

  • @jarabaa Actually, that's a big misconception. The version of "Walking In The Air" which appears in the film was not sung by Aled Jones. It was sung by another choirboy called Peter Auty and Aled Jones covered the song a few years later. I think that Aled might actually feel a bit guilty about stealing Auty's thunder.

  • @friedmahooga Thank you very much for solving a mystery which was really troubling me! I was totally perplexed when I discovered that Aled Jones had become famous with "Walking in the Air" in 1985. To this day, I vividly recall watching the Snowman in 1982, the year when Channel 4 was launched. Thank you for explaining that the original 1982 voice was Peter Auty's. I had never heard of him till I read you comment. It seems rather scandalous that he was not properly credited in the first place.

  • @jarabaa You're very welcome. ;) I only found that out a few years ago myself, by watching a Channel 4 documentary on the greatest Christmas TV programmes (or something with a similar title). According to his wikipedia entry, Auty wasn't mentioned in the credits as the makers were in a rush to complete the film, which is a real shame.

Still, I'm glad that Channel 4 continues to show "The Snowman" every Christmas. I think it's possibly the best animated film the UK has ever produced!

  • She sang this song again about two years after she did this version, on her Holiday Magic album. If you listen to that one you can hear how much she improved because her voice is much stronger. Although she still sounds great in this one, especially considering she was only 6!

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh so sweet

  • i dont give a crap bout wich version is better this song just blows me away!!!! i adore this version and the original too!

  • Aww shes cute at singing :) i love singing too <3 check out my video to this song :)

  • i love you connie talbot

  • so cute

  • sorry but no, just leave brilliance alone. Now where is the original...

  • A lovely version and I wish her every success

  • Not so clear pronunciation. She could learn from the 3 different boys singing this song way way better and clearer.

  • @hotkonto she was only 6 years old when she recorded this so i think her pronounctation is really okay!

  • i reckon it should be her voice in it.

  • boys voice sounds way better singing this song. her accent makes it sound weird too.

  • This song takes me back to my childhood days, in England.

Strange how music does that, huh?

  • @legalflowers It does... i heard that Song on WebRadio, so glad i could rip it and find out which it was, now after hours of searching, i finally found the Original.

Combined with that Video now i remember where i heard it first...

    Thx 4 upping also

  • Connie is so gifted! Got her album, yes she has one, and it's worth every penny!

  • I prefer the original.

  • GUITAR VERSION: check out my video for the guitar version of this :)

  • Hollie Steel has just given an unforgettable version on her new cd "A Christmas Wish" It´s a beautiful song and I love it :-)

  • @MrAllanmogensen Hollie Stole u mean? The actor who started to cry as her evil mum ordered her to do an acting game, to win sympathy, and so steal her way into the final? Hope to never ever hear from that evil family again

  • So cute ^_^

    <3

  • Peter Auty's version excels!

  • 0:34 - 1:23 best !

  • I think she has a lovely voice.. I love children's voices. but I find it a little irksome when a child is just trying to mimic the sound of a fully mature adult's voice. ie- the fake vibrato she is using, and the swooping from note to note. Swooping is so pop-sounding and, I think, ruins an otherwise naturally beautiful sound. just my opinion. I think Connie is adorable and she's got a great tone, but these aspects of this version bother me too much...

  • Adorable :)

  • She's good for her age, I have to abmit and she did sing this very well but I prefer the original by Peter Auty.

  • This sounds atrocious.

  • @jennaofthecuckooclan Absolutly agreed

  • @jennaofthecuckooclan I agree, prefer the original.

  • she is great, but aled jones's version is slightly better

  • she is really cute but i like the original better too

  • @1988LittleAngel i love connie talbot but i think i like the original

  • SO sweet.

  • u sing like an angel

  • The original is so much better.

  • @FmMan33 - i agree with you :)

  • I remember the first time Connie sang on XFactor.

She left me speechless. She has alot of emotion in her voice and is just a gem...!

  • @asopaso07 she don't sing on x factor

  • @winxclubfan1000

    I mean Britian's got talent

  • @asopaso07 me too, i was captured, she amazing!

  • Lovely voice, but pales in comparison to Declan galbraith's cover

  • I love this song because the music is somewhat mysterious and Connie's voice adds to the beauty of it!

  • A breath of fresh air for the world!

  • this film is sooooooooo good, it reminds me of my child hood in the 4th grade of my school

  • wow this is such a great and touching video!! and I remember that this was the first movie I've ever got to see in 4th grade!

  • she's so adorable!

  • ---Beautiful work by Connie.

  • ---A performance by a master.

  • wooow thats sooo beautiful... im sooo speechless had me in tears :') & im 17

  • Connie phrases like Dusty Springfield. It often often strikes me. Listen to the phrase endings at 1.10 and 1.48.

  • Absolutely beautiful. Would you believe I'd never seen this till now?! My sister still gets onto me about it....

  • more tears ...

  • What a beautiful song

    What a beautiful voice

She's so young but she sings so beautifully

    (:4evalove:)

  • oh wow... Connie Talbot does a stunning job singing this song.

  • I love this song! Not every six year old child could sing that song so well.

  • This movie makes me cry every time I watch it! Its sooooo good but sad! I love it! Connie does a beautiful job at singing this song! :)

  • Twas a book before a film

  • thats because it is haha

    you knew that.. lol

  • 1st version i heard is from yao shi ting .this version is like sing by a child but is lovely song

  • omg i remember this movie as a child. i cried in it :(

  • yeah the ending was heart breaking it was like the death of ur best friend i always cried when my snowmwn melted i actuly mourned for them

  • always makes me cry this show snow man . every year i cry lol

  • excelente!!!!! me encanta!!!

  • A song too far for Connie. This is my favourite song and I have heard most versions of it. Perhaps in a year or so she will hit the right notes, stay in tune and in time. Good effort though for a six year old.

  • How the hell are the notes off key? If they were it'd be quite obvious, well to me it would, but you must be a walking tuner or something like that.

  • I would imagine, at 14 years of age that nothing is OBVIOUS to you. At your age you don't even know that you are alive yet, and yes, I am indeed a "Walking Tuner", as you put it, for I have spent rather a long time in the music industry, unlike you, who has not spent rather a long time anywhere. My comments are meant to be constructive, and come from what I hear, not from some emotional clap trap because it is a cute child performing. In tune? What are YOUR qualifications for saying so.

  • Don't jump to conclusions my friend we look at tuned notes differently I look at quite a generally tuned area, you on the other hand look at a fine tuned area you possibly might even have perfect pitch. And I didn't say that because it was a cute child singing,I was just saying that it didn't sound off to ME. Well i've got about 3 years of musical expirience (band) I beleive I can tell when a note is off. Now she may not be able to reach the notes, but she has no singing lessons,it will improve.

  • trunsawhatever, My original comments are reflected, I believe, in your last sentence, I never said any different, in fact, I was not as scathing.

  • Originally I was saying what I hear is not off key. But now that I listen a little bit closely I can see they are just a bit off,but like we said she will improve.

  • MY my, how unusual to find honesty in this modern world. The aim of making constructive critcism is to improve the performance of the artist from the point of view of the AUDIENCE. Only by honest criricism can this be acheived . The world of entertainment is a very hard place, and only the very best will survive. You at least have taken the trouble to re evaluate a first impression and I salute you for doing so. I wish you well with your own music. Do not settle for second best in anything.

  • I love that film, I look it into every christmas, and I have so good christmas-feeling for it. Thanks!

  • She does a fantastic job on this song, very talented. I do, however, think that this song is more fit for a boy chorister like who sang in the original version, Peter Auty. Anyhow, great job Connie!

  • My favourite song ever!!!!

  • I like the boy who sing the song from the original verson better <3

  • I love her so much... she look so lovely and talented.

  • wooho

  • me and my school sung this in chorus i know the words

  • over the frozen ocean he melts lol

  • Must be an angel send to this bloody world to give us some hope

  • deja mucho que decaer en el barco yo ve esqueletos

  • nacimos en un proposito y no hay copia si no a sercamiento

  • haha i saw this vid in school lol not with her singing just the vid rofl

  • So good i have always loved her, but check out churchangel2007 She is very very good also.

  • aah... she has an angel's voice... oh... Declan is also sing this song wery well,.. both of them are angel's in my ears...

  • She's way younger than me and she's hitting notes I can't hit, even with a sledgehammer. Wow.

  • i had to do a summary on this story in school

  • Every song that she songs sounds beatiful...

  • well done Connie! from Dubai

  • She has a natural talent, it is true, but her voice is not yet polished. But then, no one should expect it to be polished yet. It isn't finished developing, and it'll take practice to perfect her technique. But it is a sweet voice. I think I like the original version of this song better, though.

  • I hope she releases the Christmas album here in the states. I would totally buy it. I got the "over the rainbow" album and loved it. You are amazing Connie! I pray that God blesses you forever!

  • ibintocable .... Currently, Connie is planning to visit the USA in October to promote the Christmas Album.

You can still download the Album or as separate tracks from ConnieTalbotdotcom

  • I can just watch this, over and over!

    We luv you, Connie!!

  • this brings bl memories

  • And they say that Joseph McManners has a voice of an angel? Compared to Connie, Joseph has no talent.

  • Luv this song and Connie, too!

  • me 2

  • Oh,I love Connie so much. But I think Delcan did better. But she's only 6. She has much to learn still

  • go play away

  • go play away what??

  • wonderful job Connie your the best.. keep up the great work

  • its suffing in the air

  • i really love her.....

  • what's the video called?

connie's singing turns on my waterworks XD

  • This song brings all my earliest feelings up very quickly, it's too beautiful, it's too much. This is so beautiful it hurts.

  • classic :D

  • shes so cute

  • i love her voice, its so cute, shes going to be a hell of a good singer once she gets a bit older!

  • She's amazing!

  • I love her voice and she is amazing and quiet charming!

  • Comment removed

  • Besides, her fellow BGT Andrew and Faryl's version is my fave overall overall.

  • angelic vioce i love it go connie

  • this is one of the best versions of the song ive heared! yet

  • what is your problem???? clearly u are sooooo JEALOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • idd

  • coniie sweet connie

  • i find this terrible. orginial is way better

  • Comment removed

  • i find it terrible because she doens't stick to one note but does a vibratio (or something like that - i don't know what it's called) and in doing so she's pulsing not only in volume but also in pitch. and that last makes it sound plain ugly to me.

    but yes, she has talent.

  • maybe i don't like it,

but it is a skill in singing,

not many people can do it

  • then we agree

  • ^^ good

  • Excellent, she sings so well for her age, really inspires me.

  • AMO este tema.... define a la palabra "etéreo"

  • OMG that snowman kidnapped that little boy also Connie Talbot is ok for being six years old but if she was older and singing like this i would say she is HORRIBLE but for a six year old very good!

  • Never heard other than Nightwish and Connie, and Connie sings this so well I never want to hear boring Nightwish performance.

    Connie is the best.

"You raise me up" by Connie Talbot is an amazing, she is only 6 years but she is already better or as good as any famous world class singer.

  • that last line she sounds like blousy from bugsy malone...dunno y! lol wicked voice tho

  • I know she's little, but DAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM thats bad. Chloe Agnew sings it better.

  • i saw a live video of this song by connie. and it's horrible in real! but in this it's verry good. but i like original better ;) but i think that's because it's original

  • the original is far better

  • I always cry after this movie... ITS HORRIBLE!!!

  • Oh it's not! It's just really sad! But the message it sends threw is what makes the film so special!

    I love it!

(Actually it makes me cry too... But I still like it! =P)

I don't really like Connie singing this song though! She has a good voice but I don't like her here at all!

    Sorry guys.

  • I don't remember what the movie is about, I just remember the feeling I was left with afterwards. It's the same feeling I'm left with after disneys interpretation of A christmas carol... complete and utter agony!

  • Well yes, I'll agree with you on that! It's not what I'd call a plesant film! You have to be in a really good mood to watch it!

  • I agree. I was really happy today but after watching this I almost cried as memories of my childhood came flooding back. I remember watching this.

  • Makes me sick.

  • Now that's ok - nothing insulting about that... apologies for being so aggressive.

  • Her voice represent every song that she sings so well, so beautiful,so expressive

    just like this song...

  • this song reminds me on everything sad on the world like wars or something
