  • Like Beck and agree with Stosse. The military would be better served if middle management was privatized.

  • Well, I haven't weighed in on this yet, but GENERALLY privatization works better with almost everything. As long as they government stays out, and the heavy hand of taxation, regulation, and rules don't stifle them. I honestly can't think of a single thing now though, with the POSSIBLE exception of the military, that government could do better than the private sector. Police? Nope. Fire? Nope, there are thousands of 'volunteer' fire depts. all over the nation. Roads and highways, debatable.

  • Why not privatize everything, look how well it works with news coverage.

  • @manhatin look how well it works with INTERNET where there is so much news coverage competition that you can subscribe to any news source you want to dumbass.. not the media which has the government favoring some over others in a way of indirect control which isn't very private-ish at all. and who commercialized the internet to replace conventional media, and who enhanced communication from newspaper to tv? oo right, the private economy. dumbass.

  • @spyletu

    H-m-m-m, I'm a dumbass and you're a smart ass. I guess it's a draw.

  • @manhatin Well, if you say so, then I have no choice but to agree with you.

  • @spyletu

I'm not real sure what you're trying to say here, but most everything is done more efficiently in the private sector. It's like the post office. You go and stand in line, and they don't give a DAMN about how long you're there, they take their time about doing everything and don't even seem to care if they help you or not. It's because they KNOW they are not going to get reprimanded or fired. It usually takes an act of congress to fire a government employee, but opposite in private sec

  • @manhatin

Ummm . . . mainstream news isn't entirely private. They have their information censored and regulated by the FCC.

  • @manhatin

It actually DOES work with news coverage to a degree. If one has half a brain, he's going to find out for himself. If you go to Fox news, do you expect the conservative or the liberal point of view? What if you go to CNN or NBC, or Huffington Post? The government can no more tell you what to think than Rush Limbaugh can, you have to know that for yourself. And the FCC needs to be technical ONLY, for RF interference, Some rules have to be, they do not need to be fooling with content.
