Is this guy for real, is he living in the 21st century? He literally quoted a 2,000 year old book and used the what if as the center of his argument. Well what if the universe is billions of years old and we all evolved from primates...oh wait I have scientific evidence to prove that. Hopefully natural selection is working and people like ray are a dying breed.
@blandlife4ever If you actually looked, there isn't any scientific evidence to prove Evolution. That's why its still referred to as a "theory". Maybe think about digging into some of these things yourself, try reading the bible and decide for yourself, instead of only going by what school teaches you and what your parents tell you like I used to do.
@synapsesound So all of these fossils that have been found is not proof of evolution. Hmm I think you need to do some research and secondly I read the bible, I went to Catholic school for a large section of my childhood and then like now I found it bizarre.
@blandlife4ever Oddly enough, it was the lack of fossil evidence that encouraged me to dig deeper (no pun intended). There isn't one shred of fossil or archeological evidence to prove evolution. To me, the lack of evidence proves it is wrong. On another note, attending catholic school doesn't make anyone a bible scholar, as there is a huge difference between Catholicism and Biblical Christianity. Just please search for yourself, and read the Gospel of John. Every single word in the Bible is true
@synapsesound OK sure if you think that is true then you are entitled to your own opinions, even if it is that we all came from some garden and thrown out because of a snake,...but read the "Origins of Species" or "the God Delusion" they articulate about evolution that even the layman can understand. Also I am no biblical scholar but I do know a lot more about your precious book than you think and the story of Christ is far from original look up Horus or Mithras, who are much older than Jesus.
@blandlife4ever "I hardly see how religion & science can be kept as distinct as [Edward Pusey] desires. But I most wholly agree, that there is no reason why the disciples of either school should attack each other with bitterness.” Darwin. He was a brilliant scientist. The only thing I can say, is I thought your way my entire life. One day, after deciding to REALLY study the Bible for a few weeks, I looked up, instead of looking in. I know now that the Bible is true. I've seen it's Truth.
@blandlife4ever I found that the Bible is the most historically AND archeologically accurate book of all time. You would too, if you looked. And it is so, because God breathed it into our hands. We will all try to travel the path WE want, and trying to justify evolution is moreso trying to justify that there is no God, therefore no accountability for the things we do. I wish it were so sometimes myself. Thanks for the comments
I've just realized what makes all these interviews Ray conducts all the more pathetic: He's interviewing (mostly) thoughtful people who are not the least bit bothered by the prospect of death someday, yet Ray, shackled into his own fear-based delusion, feels compelled to go out and get other people just as worried as he is. He won't be happy unless he can justify his own fear by instilling it in others. It's like the old saying: "Misery loves company" (yet in this case, misery loves Comfort).
@fryeman1995 The Old Testament is part of the bible too, and the god of the Old Testament is definately not a lovable character. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, to have to deal with figures like the god of the Old Testament.
Now you may find verses in the New Testament that say that you don't need to follow the laws of the Old Testament anymore. But that doesn't mean that you can dismiss the Old Testament altogether, if you take the bible as your guide (CONT'D)
@WilbertK13 ... So while you don't necessarily need to kill you children if they misbehave (Deuteronomy 21:18-21), because you may feel that those rules don't necessarily apply to you anymore, you cannot say that god is moral. Read Job, for instance. God just punishes people because he wants to make a point to the devil. How moral is that?
And furthermore: in the New Testament (Ephesians 2:8-9), it is made perfectly clear that you are saved by grace through faith, nor works (CONT'D)
@WilbertK13 ... That means that someone whose acts are evil, but who comes to christ at the end of his life, is more likely to be saved than someone who does good things all his life, but denies the existence of the lord. Such a position is in no way moral.
So the god of the Old en the New Testament are the same. They are either both good, or both bad. And looking at it, I think I don't know anyone who is less moral than that god.
Whoever said that the God of the universe should have to follow the moral conceps of man? and I do not nor should any christian omit the old testament. if you understood gods position maby u would understand the law He made. God is holy, and cannot tolerate sin. God told adam and eve not to eat of the tree of life, or they would die. thes ate of the tree and didnt die. that is the first recorded instance of God's mercy. whenever anyone commits a sin, they deserve to die (Cont.)
.. instantly. but God was loveing enough to let us slide. but there was still the ishue of eternity. that is where Jesus came in. All sins were layed on Him and were payed for so we gould receve the gift of eturnal life. i know that God dosnt make sence. if fact that greater proves our point. why would we make up a god that made no sence? God Bless.
@fryeman1995 Christians say that man should follow the morals of god. But the innate morals they say they get from god, their god lacks. God does not live by the rule 'thou shalt not kill'.
But we're not going to convince each other. Good day sir.
True, we are not going to convince each other, so i will pray for you. But one last note: the literal translation of the commandment is you shall not murder. God Bless.
@fryeman1995 Oops, I shouldn't pretend to quote literally when I'm just writing it off the top of my head. Should've looked it up. I don't have my KJV for nothing. Thanks for clearing that up.
@WilbertK13 Killing your children? My dad has a "son" (v 18), but he's forty-two years old. The text doesn't say "My child is a glutton and carouser." (v 20)
And why do you think they're taking him to the elders? (v 19). To help them throw rocks? See Deuteronomy 16:18-20 for the role of the judges. "The gate of HIS place" (his peers)
Then see 19:16-19. If you're going to get somebody killed, you'd better put on a good song and dance.
@PrinceWalter What are you trying to say? What is the relevance of Deuteronomy 19:16-19 in this context? Deuteronomy 21:18-21 tells you to kill unruly children. It tells you to bring them before the elders of the city, yeah, but not to be judged. It says you bring them before the elders, say what they've done wrong, and then kill them.
@WilbertK13 I think I understand. When I referenced "the gate of his place" (21:19), I could have emphasized "gate" instead of "his", but I wanted to emphasize peers.
It is "in all thy gates" (16:18) that judgment takes place. The "gate of the city" is a reference to a place of judgment. That is the connection between the two. Ideally, it is the "elders" who will be "appointed" as judges within thy gates, wisdom coming with age, ideally.
@PrinceWalter So, are you denying that deuteronomy says you should kill unruly children, or are you defending that position?
And yeah, I know chapter 16 comes before chapter 21. So what? That doesn't change the fact that in chapter 21 it is clearly stated that you should kill unruly children. If chapter 16 says otherwise it's contradictory, if it defends it it's ridiculous, and if it's otherwise I don't know why you bring it up.
Please state your point, if you're trying to make one.
CA Vehicle Code 27007 makes it illegal to operate "any sound amplification system which can be heard outside the vehicle from 50 or more feet". It says NOTHING about your RIGHT to a HEARING. Does that mean we don't have one?
It is also intellectually dishonest to replace "child" for "son".
@PrinceWalter So you're saying you only have to kill unruly sons, not all children? Does that make it moral to do so? My error is not intellectually dishonesty, as it is irrelevant to my point. My point is that this old testament law is highly immoral.
And as for your analogy with the sound system: You might have the right to a hearing, but you'll lose the lawsuit if you broke the law. This means that unruly boys must be put to death according to gods law.
@WilbertK13 I am saying that there is a difference between "killing unruly boys" and bringing a "son" - who could be 42 yrs old - who is refractory, rebellious, a glutton, and a drunkard, and after being chastised plenty of times, continues to be so, to a hearing of his place to see if it is true.
"Killing boys and children" paints a picture of a modern soccer-mom bringing her 5yr old into court cause he made a mess of the fudge, "Kill my little boy!" They would laugh her out of the court.
@PrinceWalter I keep asking you whether you think the law is moral, and you keep pointing out nuances in other parts of the book. This is not a response to my question. Could you please just answer?
Before, you "kept asking" with your agenda-laced words: "Children, boy." How can I answer a question about something the Bible said when it didn't say it?
MORAL: of, pertaining to, or concerned with the principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction between right and wrong; ethical: moral attitudes.
@PrinceWalter I despise your morals, but realize that I'm not going to change them in a youtube discussion.
Feeling it is right to kill people (children, kids, sons whatever) for being stubborn and rebellious is evil in my eyes. I see Ray Comfort as a stubborn rebel, but I wouldn't wish death upon him.
Your response about the agenda-laced words indicates that you assume everybody who doesn't agree with you must conspire against you. That's sad.
@WilbertK13 If you could step back and listen, the over lying story of the bible seems so contrived and the servitude required is quite intolerable for any free thinker.
@TATSUAKE ... Its the supreme arroagance that it has in claiming it has the ulitmate truth, and that this "truth" is that if i don't believe in the Christian god along with the resurrection, the virgin birth etc etc, i am going to burn in hell when i die regardless of how good i lead my life. God did not ban sex, he made sex. Fornication is sex before marriage. Having a crush on some one or thinking some one is cute is not lust. Lust is to think sexual thoughts, ect. just wanted to clear that up for ya.
Well....that means many many teens would go to hell fire because they "lusted" after that one hot girl. Also, marriage. In different cultures, there are different marriage ceremonies and different standards of marriage. That would also mean all the responsible adults that both the bf and gf choose not to get married but...you get the rest.
technically yes since god stander is perfection. But that's why Jesus came down to pay for all those sins. But yeah I know what you mean, when I was a teen, I did more then lusted. Just cause I was a teen, I still knew right from wrong and what I was doing, just didn't care.
Lust isnt all that bad unless it goes too far....after all, keeping it to yourself should not be a "sin". So you're saying God, who you say is perfect, can't forgive just 2 people from eating so he condems the world into eternal hellfire? Thats plain sick.
@DarkZerkerX Where do you think murder starts at? With anger, watch courttv (truetv). Usually people don't just wake up and decide to kill. So stop justifying your own sins. Also there's a difference between having a crush and having indecent sexual thoughts.
Murder with the INTENT to murder starts at anger BUT I hate a couple people at school and do i go to school with an AK-47 and kill them? Absolutely not! Why? Because humans have moral standards and there are consequences for those actions Jail, death penalty, extreme guilt, etc. Hating someone too much can be bad but its human nature to think certain people are douchenuts.
"and do i go to school with an AK-47 and kill them? Absolutely not! "
If it wasn't for the grace of God holding you back, you WOULD'VE let that hatred lead into an action.
The Bible shows us that that is our very nature - that we are evil in our hearts. If it wasnt for God restraining us, we would all make Adolf Hitler look like a choir boy.
The Bible tells us that oneday God will remove that restraining grace, and then men will be exposed for what they really are.
This is an absolutely disgusting video. The interviewer is a complete bully. This lunatic interviewer would obviously stop at nothing to get someone to join his cult.

Look at how happy he is before Ray Comfort heaps guilt, doubt, and fear onto him. You can see the tension build in his face. Shame on you Mr. Comfort.

Not so much a bully as he is a snake oil salesman just marketing a humble man that died thousands of years ago. Yes I believe Jesus is a real person but not the sky daddys son.

Look at how happy he is before Ray Comfort heaps guilt, doubt, and fear onto him. You can see the tension build in his face. Shame on you Mr. Comfort.

@fuzzywuzzy18 - The thing is that won't help these poor people, because they are so brainwashed it doesnt matter what amount of logical reasoning or argument they put before them it won't change their mind; in much the same way as you would never be able to explain to a fish what its like to fly.
