  • Obama signed it! Yes! Anti-government will personnel will be hunted down and defeated! In order to ensure the security and continuing stability, the planet will be reorganized into the first New World Order! For a safe and secure society! Sign me up! For the New World Order! For the Empire!

  • People are comparing Palpatine's speech to Obama's? Have people lost their minds?

  • I love this speech so much! His voice just sends shivers down my spine!!!

  • secure, sign me up and give me a grey uniform.

  • I LOVE star wars, most epic Saga along with Harry Potter, with that said.

Yes, for the Empire!! The Sith will rule all! SWTOR!! New order to the Galactic Republic! :)

  • un discorso sempre attuale

  • Mr. Putin's speech after reelection on march 4th.

  • Notice she did not say democracy. Democracy is mob rules. This galaxy needs an imperial government. All hail the fist galactic Emperor!

  • @Sirchud68 :)

  • I say Palpatine was like Adolf Hitler , Empire were kinda like Nazi-Germany during WWII

  • @SDALYEA31

Yes, reminds me of all speculations about the fire in the Reichstag, for which Hitler blamed the communists.

It's also kinda like the Roman Republic submitting to corruption and turning into a monarchy.

  • There are a LOT of things I could call palpatine but this is a family oriented website :P

  • i think the world could use a good emperor

  • Comment removed

  • Cualquier parecido con la realidad politica argentina es pura casualidad.

  • I'm amazed so many people are unoriginal enough to compare Obama's failure in office of trying to make the nation better to Palpatine's intentional overthrow of the Republic. Plus, if a person has already made the joke, it's annoying to keep re-doing it.

  • @Nitocolus Obama passed the NDAA act, he is trying to take over the republic.

  • @Mluna792 But was Palpatine really so bad? Really?

  • @Nitocolus Wookies were inslaved. And dude.. Ewoks. Were. Killed.

  • @maaderllin If Obama starts killing powerful, un-industrious hairy men and teddy bears, I might be concerned. Besides, if Obama could be considered Emperor Palpatine, Bush was Big Brother; and that's actually a much easier comparison.

  • @Nitocolus Well, I was just answering to the "Was Palpatine that bad?" part, I couldn't find the comment you replied on XD For Obama-Bush-Fiction comparison, I don't know. I saw an interesting comment on Obama = Valorum, when he tries to satisfy and compromise for everyone and ends up doing far less than expected.

  • @maaderllin Now that sounds a lot more reasonable :P

  • @Mluna792 The House and the Senate passed that act before Obama even touched it. Yes, he's just as guilty for signing it, but you're being fooled if you refuse to look behind the shadows at the Congress that's making this all happen.

  • Ron Paul is Luke Skywalker and RTD2 is a Paulbot

  • You all do know it is not PC to call Obama a Dark lord of the sith. you have to call him a multi-party affiliated progressive force user. but hey don't listen to me America, after all this is not the comment you are looking for, go about your business, and move along...

  • Padme Amidala dislikes

  • Sounds like Obama's State of the Union address.

  • Star Wars fans probably understand how our government really works more than the politicians- buncha old sith geezers in business suits.

  • Newt Gingrich was the Papaltine's padawan.

  • @revmysleds haha he was!

  • “The executive branch also needs to change. Too often, it’s inefficient, outdated and remote. That’s why I’ve asked this Congress to grant me the authority to consolidate the federal bureaucracy so that our Government is leaner, quicker, and more responsive to the needs of the American people.” - January 24, 2012

  • Hey, I didn't see Palpatine use a teleprompter. What kind of leader is this guy? LOL

  • Why would the senators applaud an action that causes them to lose their jobs? Dumbasses.

  • @pacifiedfools the senate still existed but they didn't have real power they just represented worlds

  • @rapfan79 Not really much of a Senate then, is it?

  • @pacifiedfools thats exactly what i thought. In episode 4 Princess Leia said to Darth Vader when he captured her the senate will never stand for this and i thought what senate if palpatine is the emperor he can just make the decision since he is like the ruler of his empire so that scene was kinda weird.

  • @rapfan79 The Galactic Senate was replaced by the Imperial Senate at some point - most senators were loyal to Palpatine (regardless of how many were secretly opposed to him) but politically, they had no real power since governance of Imperial planets was handed to the Moffs. Tarkin further reveals later in Ep.4 that the Senate was disbanded, some time after Leia was taken captive.

  • Sad thing is this is exactly like the U.S.A.

Build up an Empire - Check

Send the Empire out to other worlds and start wars - Check

All the money goes to the rich - Check

Slay anyone that believes in something - Soon to come

  • Even in Star Wars Ppl get it wrong smh..... In American Government and Star Wars Government... ITS A FUCKING REPUBLIC!!!!!!! Why am I always hearing Democracy... Ppl need 2 get their shit 2gether

  • @AOTTV7 Your message would come across better w/o the profanity!

  • SOTU

  • playing this vid while obama is talking is REALLY FREAKY!

  • @christianfilmer1500 Fools, the president is just a temporary figurehead with no real authority. They are nothing but pawns.

  • the covenant from halo is the most powerful empire

  • @BansheeGun Obama is like Chancellor Valorum. He tends to yield to the bureaucracy of Congress, constantly trying to compromise, and rarely making decisions that step on their toes too much.

People think Valorum is the problem, but the real problem is how inept their senate is.

  • @DrTruthiness And you forget that Velorum was actually being bought out by the Trade Federation. Making decisions based on who gives him the biggest check. Much like what Obama has done. Solyndra. GE. BOA. All donated to his campaign and in turn he gave them taxpayer money. So their plights aren't about Congress, it's about their corrupt policies and ignoring the constitution.

  • @BansheeGun I agree with that comparison.

  • @BansheeGun The comparison of "The Evil Emperor in Star Wars sounds like [president name]" has been made with every president since these movies came out. You're not breaking new ground.

  • @PlayMadness It might be old ground, but it's new in this comparison. You see, Palpatine pitted the Jedi against everyone (Portraying them as evil) much like what Obama is doing to the wealthy and the GOP (Portraying them as evil) when it's the exact opposite. Both use scare tactics and lie to get what they want. And eventually they see no need to have a Congress anymore, so they do away with the constitution. It hasn't happened with Obama yet, but it will if he gets another term.

  • @BansheeGun take your stupidity somewhere else.. It's not welcome here.

  • @abcdefghujklmnopqrus Its not stupidity, its the truth. Why don't you take your Liberal B.S somewhere else? You seem to be in the minority here. And you should be more respectful, I pay for your wellfare check. Get a job.

  • @BansheeGun I have a job jackass.. You're probably some retarded kid in school who thinks it's cool to post stuff like this. Sadly you're wrong. You only make yourself look stupid and trust me, you don't need any help doin that. You're doin just fine already. :)

  • @abcdefghujklmnopqrus You call me stupid and yet your grammer is terrible. You have no facts so you are just throwing out insults. I'm not the child, you are.

  • @BansheeGun The irony is strong with you. Might want to use spell check before you start insulting someone on their spelling jackass.. Oh well, go troll somewhere else.

  • @abcdefghujklmnopqrus You still never gave me any example's as to why I am stupid. Your retarded and you've bought into the liberal B.S. You should learn about the NDAA. It's treason on Obama's part.

  • @BansheeGun Oh so i haven't. Ok i'll do so now. For any sane person, it's pretty clear that NDAA was in effect long before Obama was president. It's just now an issue because you want it to be probably because Obama is a black man. I know, i don't like playing the race card but I don't mind doing so whenever it's valid. By the way, you still might want to start thinking about using spellcheck. Just a thought. :)

  • @abcdefghujklmnopqrus Spelling is irrelevant, typos are common. And I should have been more clear, I mean the 2012 NDAA is treason. Allowing the government to arrest people (Even U.S. citizens) suspected of committed or planning acts of terror, without a warrant. Sections 1021 and 1022 are in clear violation of the Bill of Rights.

  • @BansheeGun Not really but i'm tired of arguing with you. You've shown me nothing to prove to me that my way of thinking is flawed other than talking points from the Republican Party. There has been no change to the NDAA thing that Obama signed, no matter how much your deranged mind wants to think so. Just do me a favor, don't vote this election cycle. We don't need people who will willing vote against their own interests and bring about the fall of this great nation. Kthxbai.

  • @abcdefghujklmnopqrus No, the 2012 NDAA is different from the NDAA's in the past. You give no reasons as to why I am wrong, so you throw out insults. And your Liberal ideals are already destroying our nation. You think Obama is right because you only rely on passion and not logic. If you would look into the details you would see that liberalism is a joke and you are a part of that joke. Have fun with your food stamps and welfare check. You obviously deserve them.

  • @666orsexsexsex: Yeah Obama's gonna hunt down the Jedi...*rolls eyes*

  • Admit it, when you first watched this in theaters, you had chills down your spine when Palpatine declares "The first GALACTIC EMPIRE!!!!!!". It's like now most of the pieces are now in place.

  • isn't obama doing this same thing to america

  • I don't know why, but whenever I think of Hitler giving his speeches, it always reminds me of this...

  • @KjcKiesh now you know how i feel about obama

  • Swore I saw this speech on CSPAN regarding SOPA the other day..

  • TO A SAFE AND SECURE SOCIETY! LONG LIVE THE EMPEROR!!! HE WILL TAKE CARE OF ALL OF US!!! OH BLESSED EMPEROR!

  • Wow that sounds like the NDAA bill that was just passed through Congress.

  • Hmm - the part 'THE REMAINING JEDI WILL BE HUNTED DOWN AND DEFEATED' - confirmst the fact Palpatine not only is determined but this quote serves to fuel an example of his hatred for the Light Side of the Force :(

On a side note - his declaration of a New Order (Totalarian Society) also sounds slightly similar to Goebbels WWII propaganda speeches of Total War to encourage the Germans about thier fortunes in WWII (but thats just what I think - hope nobody gets offended by this comment).

  • @HeirofGojira91 ;) Lightside is the true corrupted side. Sith view Republic as corrupt and the Jedi as incopetent and evil. Dooku once refered to Yoda as "shriveled and evil" while Darth Vader believed the Jedi to be evil and the Republic corrupt as well. Sith value power for themselves, but they adore order and stability instead of "peace." Hell, the Empire even abolished slavery in Tatooine...what the hell did the Republic do in that time?

  • @CPenha I can tell you what the heck the Republic did - they just sat back like cowards and had selfish careless senators who just wanted more and more kickbacks - putting on a superficial face - least of all Orn Free Taa as an example. Ah yes - Dooku - the lost twenty member who lost his faith in the Republic, Anakin/Vader - who could forget 'In MY VIEW THE JEDI ARE ALL EVIL!' and Sith - well true very true but didn't Siths of the past also had fueds w' one another?

  • @CPenha I mean egotists such as Andeddu claimed 'Knowledge is power and TRUE SITH DO NOT SHARE POWER!' or the fact Nihilus and Sion had thier own agendas - I understand the Rule of 1 and Rule of 2 but some other Siths prior to this just simply fueded w' one another...and as for order and stability - yes - quite frankly you could even argue Palpatine was a 'peaceful if not benevolent' Sith in a sense - I myself never truly liked Jedi with a few exceptions - I prefer the Sith :)

  • @HeirofGojira91 I do too. But, yeah, Sith are egotistics. Plagueis taught Sidious that they could "save" the galaxy be ruling it and deciding the future for those weak enough to. Of course, he also believed in a totalitarian government. But competion and rivalry is part of being a Sith, as is the desire to fight each other for title as the Rule of Two states. And even in episode IIi Vader told Padme he was more powerful than the SIdious and that he could overthrow him.

  • @CPenha Ah - but again the Jedi mainly teach that 'attachment is dangerous whilst altruism and self-sacrifice' is the goody goody (don't get me wrong I admire those who can sacrifice much and still be resilient) whilst Sith - Palpatine claimed to Anakin prior to Plaguise's Tragedy that 'Sith and Jedi are just so alike - yet perceptions are different on the view of power' or the fact the Sith are seen as 'the bad guys' and Jedi's as the 'good guys'

  • @CPenha Not to mention Dooku just prior to Naboo even considered taking out Palpatine or whoever was to be the 'future' Sith but he figured out there was little he could do in the future to change the course of what was to come and hence he served to Palpatine; but Dooku in AOTC offered to Obi-Wan 'we will destroy the Sith Lord and rule the Galaxy as the new leaders of peace (something like that' and Yes Anakin prior to being Vader was actually potentially more powerful than Palpatine

  • @CPenha Quite frankly he would have given Palpatine a difficult time in a final duel or killing the Sith Master test - something like Star Killer/Galen Marek IF he didn't go too ego on Obi Wan Kenobi but unfortuantely he was to be halved in his potential (though still powerful) - but I believe Palpatine ALSO had his own agenda? I mean he was only USING his APPRENTICES have you noticed from Maul -> Dooku -> Anakin and other secret apprentices - playing them on him and one another

  • @CPenha As Palpatine personally saw that he was the one and only savior of the Galaxy and it would be only HE fit to rule the Galaxy for an eternity (he essentially enlisted the apprentices as a menas to help him achieve more power and stability) and once the apprentice was 'force-drained' you could say he pretty much expended them and found a new and more powerful - younger apprentice to fit the bill and repeat the cycle - after all he did not fully learn the immortality secret from Plaguiesus

  • @CPenha And then there was the whatnots after the Battle of Endor - we have Palpatine fleeing into the depths of the Byss for 6 years then he comes back and one by one he runs outta clone bodies suitable for his Dark Powers :( I used to hthink Palpatine was just 'the emperor' with 'lightining' but seeing how influential he was (albiet with Ian Mcdiarmid's good acting) and his skills with the Force not just lightsabers hoho - I even got a 2010 Vintage Collection Figure of Palpatine!

  • It reminds me of something ... yeah I know, the EU Parliament

  • I love how obvious he is about being a villain. Why would you vote for someone who covers up his eyes with a giant hood and speaks in such a voice.

  • I actually liked Portman's acting for that last line. If only she did that well in the rest of the movie(s). Oh well.

  • scheisse das ist scheisse

  • Those who would give up liberty for security deserve neither.

  • This was my favorite scene in Episode III, and, hell, one of my favorite scenes in the whole saga.

Palpatine's one of my favorite villains of all times. This scene is essentially a reason why.

  • They would be VII: Heir to the Empire, VIII: Dark Force Rising and IX: The Last Command

  • Star Wars III: Revenge Of The Sith. This is what tied everything together. I wonder if they're going to do VII, VIII and IX?

  • The FIRST GALACTIC EMPIRE! epic.

  • Ian McDiarmid - for me, the standout actor of the Star Wars saga by a long shot. Every scene he's in he just slays it.

  • unlimited power

  • history has shown that the biggest threat to democracy is not enemies of the state, but the state's own politicians. the Roman republic, turns into the Roman Empire by Caesar. The Wiemar republic (Germany after WWI) turns into the Third Reich by Hitler and the Nazi party...

  • Hahahahaha~ Padme disliked this video!!

  • at 0:26 i feel kinda sad

  • @Reathold

sidious was lying to gain the senate sympathy and make jedi look evil his so called disfigured face was was his REAL face he used force mask(sith alchemy) to hide his true face until his force lighting broke the mask.

  • @undead450 Thats only a theory not the truth

  • @Reathold

nope it is truth since darth maul book already showed palpatine disfigured face while training maul as boy. in fact if you look in expanded unverse there no victim of force lighting were ever been disfigured

in fact palpatine force lighting luke for 5 min and he was not disfigured .

  • @undead4500 I know It didn't happen to Luke, Perhaps maybe it was a way to gain Anakin to his cause?

  • @Reathold

ROTS NOVELTION support/hinted sidious mere acted to be defeated in fact mace could not hold sidious lighting any longer and would got killed that before sidious stopped and said he was "too weak".

  • At 0:40 that symbol on the front of his platform looks kind of like an upside-down cross. Coincidence? I think NOT!

  • sry kinda forgot was senator organa in any of the orignal movies?

  • Yo Palpatine, I'm really happy for you and I'mma let you finish but Sauron had the best evil empire of all time! OF ALL TIME!

  • @MrFrankie401

sorry sauron did not even control a planet while sidious controlled an entire galaxey and have freaking death stars and super star destroyers.

  • @MrFrankie401 Not in this Galaxy

  • The Remaining Mythic Dawn will be hunted down and Defeated. The Attempt on my life has left me scarred and deformed but i assure you my resolve has never been stronger!. In order to insure the security and continuing stability, the Empire shall root out all Daedra Worship! For a safe and secure SOCIETY!

  • Palpatine is best pony

  • I personally liked Uriel Septim more.

  • And now it's happening here. Stop NDAA and SOPA.

  • @cobalt789 Agreed

  • For the Empire!!!! Kill all or be killed!

So ready for Star Wars Old Republic :)

  • @LolololLOlllOLllol Join the club.

  • @ShamanWarlord I have And now im playing and kill republic!! =)

  • @LolololLOlllOLllol To be honest, I don't care.

  • this movie follows much the Roman Model, The roman empire was 500 years a republic, before it became an empire for almost another 500 yeras

  • Every time I watch this clip I get the chills lol.

  • Padme's lack of faith is disturbing - LOL!!!

  • "It's treason, then."

  • he reminds me of the pope... they actually look pretty much the same.. no shit---

  • This is why I love English Actors!!!

  • long live the empire

  • The Separatists where better!!!

  • All opposition is BOLSHEVIK TREASON! SIEG HEIL!

  • 2012 Bitches !

  • WOOT! you go Dick! Cheney for president 2012!!

  • Well, the Roman Republic was corrupt and ineffective, but the Roman Empire was solid and strong. So i wouldn't say that a Republic means democracy even the opposite. The Soviet states ware called People's Republic's after all. Look at Japan, Britain, Spain and many other monarchies i don't think they lack democracy.

  • @Vahki100 With some exceptions of Japan. Britain and Spain arent real monarchies their monarchs acted more as Semi Presidents Figures than Monarchs.

  • FIRST Galactic Empire !!!!!!!!!!

  • Liberty must die to survive.

  • this is what he planned along, for a long, long time. finally, his how many plans he planned when he was a kid. everything goes good from DARTH PLAGUEIS book.

  • The Emperor is evil and he FUCKING LOVES IT!!!!

  • For the Emperor.

  • For all of the bagging of the prequels, i actually find the senate scenes the most enjoyable.

  • At the cinema on May 2005 he said 'The Republic will be re-organised into the First Galactic Empire, with a RULER, ELECTED FOR LIFE-FOR SAFE, AND SECURE SOCIETY!!!'....they cut out the 'ruler for life' bit out of the dvd....WHY?!

  • @TheMasterNo6 OMG is that true? I wanna see this!

  • @EvilDarkChris Sadly doubt you can as every upload on here doesn't have the line I mentioned-and a lot of the uploaders are worldwide....shame, unless Lucas re-releases it with that line put back in that is. even the audio commentary didn't explain why it was removed. Lucas is a cunt anyhow. He ruins what good he does.

  • @TheMasterNo6 no he didnt, trust me, i saw the movie several times at the theater, unless you saw it in another country (im from America).

  • @johnkerry7 Weird. He definitely said it when I saw it on opening night. I'm from the UK. I saw it at the Odeon Leicester Square, London - they held the premiere there too.

  • @TheMasterNo6 well thats prob what happend, they took it out in America from the get go.... lame....

  • "So this is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause" - love that line!

  • @cloudinfinity that is what happened in Canada with the harper goverment :D

  • @cloudinfinity this will be 2012 America at this rate XD

  • @cloudinfinity And its such a true line. When liberty dies (especially in a democratic system) its usually met with applause. not protest

  • GO EMPIRE! LONG LIVE PALPITINE! He really was the best Emperor.

  • @dragon345678 What do u mean? He was the only Emperor! You can't count the half dozen Imperial Commanders who took over the Empire after Palpatines death, Emperors. They were Warlords pure and simple.

  • @0307scott toche

  • @dragon345678

well, since he was the only Emperor, yeah you could say that.

    Palpatine was the best Emperor.

  • @Belcoot358

Darth Krayt was the second galactic emperor after palpatine death.

  • @dragon345678 LONG LIVE EMPEROR PALPATINE!

  • @kaino1990 ,

Long Live??? He DIED in Episode 6, killed to Darth Vader.

  • @cesaraugustothanos lol buddy even my aunty who doesnt watch star wars knows that.. merely expressing my approval of the star wars character that i love

  • @kaino1990

And you clearly did not realize I was being ironic.

  • @dragon345678 He was the first and only Emperor of the republic.

  • @burntham113 I think he speaks about all the emperor; ( in star wars or not)

  • This should have more views. Well done!
