The Wii probably wouldn't put very much graphic detail and parallax scrolling if they made it...like how SMB3 on All stars looked better then NSMB Wii did. Plus DKC3 pretty much exhausted all the world and level designs.

it should be 2d with all new pre rendered animations in HD quality. for level design they should bring back some old dkc staff members that left rare years ago. and then freelance dave wise should do HD soundtrack in 5.1! that would be titts.

Well in order to keep the tradition alive 3 main things need to be present in DKC 4..NO.1 Kiddy needs a partner(as the partners from the previous game becomes the main character in the next) No.2 The game should be for the Wii shop channel utilizing the "Snes" engine(Sold thru wiiware like megaman9) No.3--A new theme for K.rool (an alien,vampiric croc,Teacher,military,ancient empire,business man etc..) One extra must...The game has too big huge...More levels,bonuses,lost Worlds,bosses etc...

Donkey kong is solely first party software,,so only machines from Nintendo can "legally" have a DK game...that would exclude PSP...

Ummm.... ds sounds good...But if you saw the conversions for the Gba..I would be skeptical on that..but hey it wouldnt hurt...:D

well you remember when back then tekken was a playstition exclusive but look at the recently released tekken 6 its on ps3 psp and the xbox 360 so nintendo could make an exception

yeah but tekken is from a 3rd party company Namco..like capcom,midway,konami and such..and donkey kong is from a 1st party company Nintendo..like Microsoft and sony and at one point so was Sega...

But yeah if Nintendo did make an exception allowing the game on other consoles then Nintendo would lose a bit of its edge not being the only ones having the game... imagine if Super mario galaxy or the new zelda would be out for Ps3 as well as wii..It'll fall into that kind of scenario....

Agreed.... also some more food for thought...Since the majority of older console tend to become homebrew friendly...if Nintendo doesnt want to officially develop then at least release the Game engine for us dedicated gamers could make it ourselves...Obviously there'll be many versions of DKC4 if its made by homebrewers but hey..it's been years since we've had a traditional SNES DKC game...... If all else fails I'd lets Homebrew it waddya say..Killah23able.????

I know gamers but not homebrewers those are the one's we need to undertake this project.... a reasonable amount of time to research is needed... but like you and myself already stated we do know how to homebrew...So I'd say lets do some research first and then have a deadline to see the progress of this... Ive been searching for Tools to hack the original 3 donkey kong country games but I havent had luck...and like I told u before Im not even a Hacker..but Who knows maybe this project will get us off the ground...

Well I'd like it if the story wasnt as simple as the Country and had a deeper plot..like after we reach K.rool maybe a 2nd adventure of sorts plays out...This game needs to be huge...or else it will get lost in the shuffle...Look at what happened to Mega Man 9---it's a great throw back..but personally it wasnt enough to keep the interest alive...we need a game that keeps surprising the player much more than what the original 3 country games have... P.s. im looking for dkc hackers...

I've never heard about a composer called David Wise. Is he responsible for the previous Donkey Kong OSTs?

YES, YES HE IS. HE IS ONLY THE MAN THAT GAVE DKC ITS SOUND AND VOICE. He composed the soundtrack for DKC 1 and 2, Evelyn Fisher composed the third games soundtrack, which is why it sounds so different.

Well, honestly, I don't know. I never noticed any correlation between a DK game and a Van Halen theme or beat. By the way, this track doesn't contain a real beat, it is more the bass drum that continually beats along the track. ;)

nintendo is abandoning a good franchise. jungle beat was good, but nothing amazing. And DK: 64 was so underrated it was ridiculous, that was a fantastic game! im sure rare cant be the only developer that can do this... miyamoto and nintendo can pull off a great donkey kong game. Yay i like this one! It could actually be a new track for the next DKC.

Rare would be "allowed" doing DKC 4 on Wiiware or the DS, but sadly it's completely up to Nintendo to decide about DK's future. In fact Miyamoto didn't like the DKC series much since it's gameplay was "too simple" and blah, so i can't see Nintendo asking Rare to do it cuz these days it's Paon's job.

But after 13 years it IS really time for a new country-trip just because there IS a fanbase out there.

Yes, graphics and the gameplay can often be enhanced, but on the other hand side, DKC 64 etc. were "o.k." but I'd like to see a game like DKC3 with the latest possibilities being adjusted for this game. ;)

The possibilities of Nintendo creating an adequate Donkey Kong Country game are possible, but Rare has done very well with Donkey Kong in the past and I believe that they should carry it out. As Hardy says, even though the circumstances are bad, "so [they] must be."

In terms of your video, Soleilfreak, this quite a good mix of the DKC2 and 3 songs, making good use of sound. Very, truly impressive.

Bad news, it was not Nintendo who made the DKC games so awesome, it was Rare. And Rare's soul belongs to microsoft, so it will not be easy. But I hope a DKC 4 for DS or Wii will come true.
