  • nicely done all movements sharp and fluid

  • ok mister talon have the bigger idea of honour but maby it s more theme of mind i always must look kempo katas and i see there real tradition of classics forms maby talon schould discuss about modifications there are a lot projekts also in instead of modifications and basic literature like liqi and book tode talk to us about that so it fits to the bahn gu han schu followed lun ja of kongfuzius im happy with great zen of kempo in our world but i also will understandmistertalon whosizecleanetics

  • What's the name of this song?

The form was well done - kudos!

  • simpre la vista al frente te falta a prender eso

  • Kata help you understand motion. foward , backward left, right, timing, power, fluid motion and speed. Most of whats being done is evasive manuevers combined with distuctive leg kicks and other counters. I would love to train with you Tallon 115

  • As for Mr. Woudstra, i think you did a great job as far as intensity goes!

We may do our forms differently, but great job nonetheless.

  • Give me a guy thats been punching a heavy bag for a year, over a guy thats been fighting imaginary people any day.

  • You would have had a point if that would have been all he did, but you don't know what he does when he's not fighting imaginary people now do you?

I wouldn't want a guy backing me up who has only been hitting bags that didn't move and didn't hit back....

I have Michael (who's the guy in the clip) backing me up any time.

  • Pretty stupid comment, Heck give me a a guy that be hitting people all year, over a a guy who has been hitting a bag. a bag sure does not how to hit back! Forms, Sets, Bag Work, Techniques, Sparring. theses and more are just mere exercises and tools to creating a great fighter.

  • dude your a moron have you ever heard of shadowboxing.....no let me enlighten you every good boxer or martial artist fights "imaginary people" or shadow boxes an image of an upcoming oponent to prepare for a match

  • The difference is...that when you shadow box you are developing real skills...like the jab, the hook, bobbing and weaving and so forth....when you are doing katas standing in a horse stance or some other idiotic stance you arent putting into muscle memory the tools that you would need in a 'real' confrontation.

  • ok fair enough personally i think that kata is only good for relaxation and flexibility

  • Lol people these days.... Thing is, he's doing a FORM in this vid, not fighting. I mean come on, there's a reason other people here are commenting on the performance of his form, not his fighting skill. And anybody can learn to fight, and all those "real" skills you're talking about. Not everyone can perform katas at a high level. So mr. 30,000 videos watched/martial arts critic, I think you should check out a Jeff Speakman Kenpo 5.0 school. And no i don't mean comment a youtube vid of it... :P

  • last week i figthed some guy that had been punching a heavy bag for a whole year, and with a single Kenpo defensive move i crushed his knee. Punching a bag is just that, nothing else than throwing punches, but doing form, even the form in the video is better, because youre practicing defense ond offense.

  • @talon115 For one thing your comment makes no sence. People who work out

in any manner of martail arts, works out on heavy bags. Heavy bags don't hit back

You know nothing of the arts,, period

  • @talon115 Yeah, because that's what martial artists do all day. *obvious sarcasm*

  • @talon115 Besides, that's not the point of forms. They're a part of a martial arts system done for many reasons. The MA aren't just about fighting-people do them for various reasons, some do it for confidence, focus, stress relief, and exercise, or perhaps they just like it, think its fun, don't think of themselves as a tough guy and don't tell anyone they train. This is a respectful response to your post for the sake of dialogue.

  • I don't like writing negative things on youtube...but WHAT...THE...HELL...WAS...THAT? 9.3 dude.

  • i'm not going to say... all the stances need work? overall can u fight? can u defend urself? can u kick butt in a real fight? that's all what matters in the end?

  • Pretty good performance, however you need to work more on your stances. Remember Kenpo should begin from the footwork upward. You need to visualize your opponents more using cause and effect and you will be begin to execute the techniques lower than what you a performing now. They are too upright now. Keep working. Grandmaster "Chief" Adrian Roman

  • I'm going to have to agree with you. I'm taking American Kenpo, and his stances look a bit weak.

  • never have practiced kenpo, but cool form concept, lots of hitting guy on the ground, and looks like i saw some perssure point hits, keep training

  • very good. i love your movement. i still don't know that form because i just started being a purple belt. good luck on your next tournament.

  • Nice fluid motions, however your stances needa little work. Add some pause in there in a few key places, add a bit more power and you'll have a badass form that will be hard to beat in the Kenpo divisions.

    Hasta!!

  • Very nice! Different than my interpretation, but we can't avoid that, can we?

I like your power and intensity!

  • wow, i'll be a 1st degree when i learn form 5. sweet form

  • great job :)

    uh yellow belt XD

  • nice job guy. loved your movement. gregg townsley, 7th degree American Kenpo

  • some of the moves, like the Dance of Death stomps, weren't pronounced as strongly as they should have, you kind of got lazy with your hands and didn't always keep them up. You seemed to stutter a little bit in your movement. You executed everything strongly, and thats good, but you seemed to lack fluidity in your movement.
