@nevfx Did you ever see the translations of his Japanese quotes? I need to dig up the topic again. But there are many differences, especially against Tidus. "Stop playing with your balls" or something to that effect.
Really? I can see why there were changed then. Western Cencors are so sensitive, they dont let anything through. That or they make the game a higher rating.
Lol such a spam fest. The music is well, nothing short of unfitting, and normally FF music is supposed to be glorious and instead we get the equivilent of the dreadful "Eyes on Me", which is in no way stimulating battle music.
My answer to those who disagree: "Why so serious?"
Oh shush. I wasnt going to upload the video, this WAS a boss battle in the Duel Colosseum and this is the final boss music, which fits well against the final boss before you ask.
I highly disagree in from listening to the song. From a serious and critical view, I personally can't feel well, stimulated if the song is trying to slow me down if you like. it feels slow, its like the singer is brooding and if it was trying to achieve the Oxymoron effect, it won't work when you want that boss dead. Now call me virtually homocidal in video games but the last thing I need is for the game to give me a reason to slow my violent killing spree. Again I leave the line "Why so serious"
When your playing it, you dont notice that. The words are...singing...d'uh, and your listening to to them, and they mean something to you personally, different from anyone else. I thought the same at first, I did mate, but playing the game, I love it. I do prefer the bonus track though, which I think should have been the final boss music. I'll send it you, you will prefer it, its the opposite of this.
Nah to me, when something might perhaps irritate or annoy, I'm going to be constantly reminded when the song in question is on, at least when I'm attempting to kill the end boss anyway XD
I'd like to have a listen to the bonus track, even with my hatred for Turn Based games such as the previous FFs, I can never deny the fact that the music was composed with absolute elegancy, except Eyes on Me because of its horrible translation.
Yes very much! So much better. Much more epic and more upbeat. If anything the Final Boss is supposed to be the games final card on the player, and I believe its the part that he/she should really be taking home with them than anything else, essentially it should fill them with the absolute euphoria. I can only ever name a few games off the top of my head that do this. Its dissapointing to hear that that particular song isn't the final battle theme.
To be honest I prefer choosing the song outright instead of having none, I mean not many people own an audio line in splitter of sorts, and it isn't a PC so I can't have a Media player in the background. More often than not in fighting games the song is tied to the stage and I end up hating certain stages due to their BGMs.
You can mess with the games ISO and add songs to the game. You can also keep all sound except BGm on to add your own music later using Windows Movie Maker.
Also when I said "Why so serious, I meant it as a joke concerning the FF fanbase, usually because they'll defend their chosen franchise until death, yet completely forget important things about the series, like FF7's actual story and the fact that Cloud wore purple and developed as a character, who has now been transformed into a permanent bishie who will never again see the light of good character design. Also because Kefka does remind me of the joker for obvious reasons.
When I say Cloud wearing purple, thats a good thing. I've found "just black" to be lazy design, like the artist couldn't take two or more opposing or harmoneous colours from the colour wheel, like its appealing to the fanfic writers instead of people who actually like FF7. From what i've been told FF7's story is deep and complex, and cloud turned out to be a much more well developed character than I thought. A more memorable protagonist for the right reasons.
I've also studied fanbases and fan contributions as part of coursework, how they react, how they respond, and how (in the nicest way possible) proceed with textual poaching(i.e. writing fanfics, drawing fan art etc) and I know that some fans take what they like about a product and shun what they don't. Of course, this occurs with any media product. Hence, the design of FF has been revised to suit those who love effeminate males and the like.
Admittedly I'm going into far too much detail, so basically I'll just finish by saying that FF has its qualities but has lost it tbh. X I hear was awful and X-2 is a joke. XI is a broken MMO and I've no idea of XII and XIII.
The stereotyping of fanbases is very common, and although the FF fanbase is commonly known for the liking of our E males like the infamous Bridget (Guilty Gear joke), I think that the sonic fanbase gets much worse treatment. My apologies for this explanation being so long.
What? You heard wrong, X has been the best for a long time. XI is crap, XII sucks, XIII looks much better, and XIV is another MMORPG, BUT its released on PS3 exclusivly.
Hmm, I'm not sure about X personally. X-2's best part is where Yuna's just singing and dancing for no reason but its enough to satisfy a weaboo like me, although the entire scene is composed of lulz. I was dead confused about XIII's protag gender, and knowing japan and the infamous Bridget (which I will send you a pic of so you get the joke), I wasn't quick to think that shes a girl. XIV being PS3 exclusive might piss off some koreans if (like me) they're not finished with Starcraft.

You make a huge write up about how bad the song is?
In that case, I should be saying to YOU: "Why so serious?"

Believe me thats short compared to the write ups I'm expected to do.

Its even in the game. I might add it on to videos after, you can choose to have no BGM during fights.

I think you stereotype us. I know FF7's actual story...and so what about wearing purple...And whats so bad with his design...?

Really? I dont get that, as in that point of view. I dont see it.
The protagonist of FF13 is girl, and apparantly she was/is supposed to be a girl version of Cloud...
