I saw them back in 1978 in Hollywood, FL in the Sportatorium (no longer there..Housing now.)What a concert. Nobody else comes close to EWF. I cry every time I hear this music now because that was real SOUL music. I went to their concert when they were at the height of their powers as a junior in high school in 1975. I was a musician in high school band and they were my favorite black band with Andrew Wolfolk on Sax and Chicago was my favorite white band with all of them having a master's degree in music. This is real music where you can actually HEAR and UNDERSTAND the lyrics. This music meant something and it was about love.

Kid from Kid and Play hosts this broadcast WAY BLACK WHEN and I have recorded it twice. It just came on last Saturday night at 3am, after the 2 hour Chaka Khan concert, which came on after Beyonce's 2 hour concert and before the James Brown 2 hour special which is why I went to youtube to listen to more music. The concert was excellent.
There were certain artist that I would go and buy the ALBUM (yes they were ALBUMS back then) without even hearing what was on it first because I could count on the quality being there. EWF, Isley Brothers, Marvin, Stevie, Barry, Issac just to name a few, nowadays I don't bother with any of the new stuff because even if 1 song sounds ok (and thats a long shot) the rest tends to be crap. I'm blessed to have been brought up in the era when a quality product meant something not just making money.

@Beyoncefan1000 i agree i think today's older generation underestimate the younger generation sometimes. Not every young person is into the generic mainstream music today.I have been listening to this type of music all my life and once you get into soul music it is hard to get away from it.

I was 8 when All n' All came out and I begged my parents for the album. At first they were understandably reluctant; how many 8 year olds want 'mature' music like this?? So when I first put it on the old RCA Hi-Fi in our living room, I knew then that I'd be a musician.
