i have an87 crx si and there's no way my cold intake sounds like that. but then again mine runs outside the engine and stops right behin the front bumper
I have an 86 crx si and thats exactly what my intake sounds like. No different except I have a glass pack which actually doesn't sound that bad I have had a lot of compliments from all different kinds of age groups of people.
"dude if you run your battery in to the trunk and put that air filter behind your bumper where more air comes through it helps quite a bit ive found out from experience"
Very Correct.
Ive got a D16Z6 swapped 87' CRX with an Injen short ram and i put the battery in the back and the air filter behind the headlight and it helped greatly.
Nice REX :) keep it up.
I had an idling problem too and i fixed by swapping in a Z6 ; )
dude if you run your battery in to the trunk and put that air filter behind your bumper where more air comes through it helps quite a bit ive found out from experience
ive recently bought a 1988 Honda CRX..and everything on the car was modded...the guy put the battery in the back trunk..and striped the back seats and layed down ply wood...
air idle control valve its behind the throttle body. its an oval shaped cap with a screw going in the side of the cap. and its a long cylinder take it out get a new one or from junkyard or just clean the internals
i used to have this car, mine had the same problem, not sure what was causing it because i've now sold the car, the car had so many problems i just wanted to start out new, now i got a 1989 CRX Si with bad valves(they rattle) and it eats up oil supposedly it has 161k miles on the engine but i'm skeptical of that, so i get a car that looks alot better has a few less problems with it but has some new problems that my other crx didn't have, it's definitely a nicer car though, don't regret buying it
thanks for watching but sucks to be you i guess i fixed up everthing in this car.. not much problems.. all i have is body work and axle shafts. for the valves clicking do you u know how to adjust it? and you should just get a new engine then if its eating too much oil or u can rebuild it.
I have the same idle problem for 89 honda accord. I thought it was the fuel injectors but its probably pcv valve that should be easy to replace. clogged valve causing seal and gasket leaks and thats eaxactly whats happening. leaks everywhere.
they are right. i had 3 85 crx's 1 hf and 2 Si's if you dont have the money to replace it. take the 2 screws off the top of it turn the large brass screw inside down till it stops. if the idle goes down theres a small screw on top turn it till its between 500-600 rpm put the top back on and there you go no more idle wierdness.
just get a whole new car dude i dnt hate hondas i love em but i never liked the crx the hatches allways looked the best n r lighter jus get rid of it ... for the idle ... try ur idle control valve
yeh menn i know filipino pride but i like to keep it clean you know maybe the horns. but shit k24 that sounds imposible for this car the engine bay is too small. i dont wanna cut in the firewall and shit. i can do it doh.. but ehh too much work. haha dig this doh. im putting the theme of this car blue red and yellow. i already got yellow valve covers in it. this video is old
well thats not my point here. im tryna be as cheap as i can to get a good running car but hey if imma spend more than a thousand on that engine your right i mind ass well get a b series coz i got hook ups on that. full swap for 1 grand. but then i dont have the money and i dont drive this as much.
Yo man, take out the Tornado Air insert. They only take away power and cause rough idles. They DO NOT benefit your car in any way. Read a few reviews on the inserts and you will see what i mean.
if you have not fixed your idle problem check your IAC. its on the back of the intake manifold next to the throttlebody. take the 3 screws off of the IAC and use a flat tip driver to turn the valve down all the way and put your hand over the valve if the idle changes buy a NEW ONE not one from a junkyard. my last 85 si did the same thin i replaced the vavle and it never did it again
uhm excuse me. the junkyard is the best solution.. and it doesnt need to be new. what i did is i grab the valves from a similar one and replace my old one with it and now it works fine. no engine check no problems. nothing...
me and my brother are doing a full resto project there rust around the wheel wells which is fine since its surface. but who ever owned it before pretty much ripped the front bumper off and we need new sheet metal to weld on, its being held on by 3 bolts.
goddamn thats some serious work right there. this wouldve been restored by now if i had the money and a good welder. fro the front bumper its the same story for yours my cousin who was the 2nd owner front ended someone and now the headlights looks all crooked and shit. i need new housing for it. the current ones are too rusted to be reshaped. are you gonna go with the d15a3 or ur gonna swap it for d16 or a b16?
we have a turbo'd b16 right now its not in the car yet all it needs is to be installed.we fixed all the interior last month but reinstalling everything i tipped a table saw and made a huge dent in the side of the car lol but its we need to do metal work anyways
oh thanks bro i think i already looked at that and adjusted it and it does make a difference but yeh imma go get a new asap from a junk yard or something. but that i.a.c. thing ur talking about is the one after the throttle body right? where its just flat. and a lil screw on it.
My 87 si hatch clocked 145mph before it was stolen. That was with only an estimated 140 hp. What u got? They sat the d15a3 can handle up to 220hp intill stuff breaks. Looks like it needs a few touch ups. But thats the original paint is it not? Looks like its in good shape. You can still save it. If I can't find a hatch, I'm going with a crx. My ECU was scavenged from a CRX and yes, I noticed the difference...
oh yea your idle problem may be linked to your TPS sensor most hondas do that when the TPS is fucked.. go buy a subaru youll enjoy it. but if you think that your crx is fast a subbie might be to much power for you ....lol
what the fuck u tryna say? im a fuckin newb that dont know how to race? who cant handle more more than 100 hp... well think before you plant that down i've driven stronger car than a fuckin subaru.
my '87 civic si had the same problem, i changed the radiator cap because my old cap wasnt sealed all the way, and it stopped doing that. its amazing what one thing can do for $9.
hahah you must be kidding me dude. i did change my radiator cap coz it was steamin up before.. didnt do anything to the idle issue. so im getting the pcv valve fixed somewhere this week and i will post up a new video if it does get fixed.
hey dude, you need to verify that the air control of the car is clean. if it is dirty or damage it does that up and down idle. if it is damage, you will need to replace it, and man mine came out to de $250.00 dolares. if it doesnt have the air control then it is the flow-meter that isnt working well. that is what controls the flow of air and gasonline. mines i have to clean it at least 2 a year.
yah my ride does that to its a 86 thou but what i know is that the o2 sensor is bad and also does it idle normal when the engine warms up because i let it warm up in then it idles fine oh and you dont have a sunroof right
Type in "PCV Valve" on youtube and select one of those tutorial vids....It may not necessarily be your car but it might give you an idea on how to fix yours!!
Ya i agree it's either the egr valve or the pcv valve. I cleaned my egr valve myself with some carburater cleaner, seemed to solve the check engine light problem lol
uhm whats a FITV. is it something about the fuel injection unit?? coz my suspect is a leak from the brake booster coz i hear a whizzing sound when i'm inside the car and the brake feels like its getting sucked in when i firt step into it.
check air vac lines
