  • check air vac lines

  • im sorry but this shit looks like straight asshole. i would fill its gas tank with shit and urine because thats how good it is too me.

  • I have an 87 crx carb 1.5 any good ideas? Post them on here so I can see.. Oh and how much to switch it to FI

  • u dont need an airbox?

  • @420leadville719 no need

  • i have an87 crx si and there's no way my cold intake sounds like that. but then again mine runs outside the engine and stops right behin the front bumper

  • I have an 86 crx si and thats exactly what my intake sounds like. No different except I have a glass pack which actually doesn't sound that bad I have had a lot of compliments from all different kinds of age groups of people.

  • thats pretty cool what did you do?

  • b swap that D15A3

  • Good info

  • dude if you run your battery in to the trunk and put that air filter behind your bumper where more air comes through it helps quite a bit ive found out from experience

  • it gets from the middle to 1/4 when i am running free way with that set up. and look at the other vid coz i kinda cold air style it.

  • @stevenspimpin420 what happens when the battery is in the trunk??

ive recently bought a 1988 Honda CRX..and everything on the car was modded...the guy put the battery in the back trunk..and striped the back seats and layed down ply wood...

    he used it for raceing..

but why is the bettery in the trunk?

  • @TheSniperr to let more air flow into the intake

  • @stevenspimpin420 how do you do that?

  • how did you fix your idle wierdness b/c i got a 87 civic si h/b it got the same motor as your and it doing the same thing.

  • air idle control valve its behind the throttle body. its an oval shaped cap with a screw going in the side of the cap. and its a long cylinder take it out get a new one or from junkyard or just clean the internals

  • @IVL5LDOG or could just be your timing. Try advancing or retarding the distributor a bit.

  • lol cusss have the samee set up i have a 1987 crx si all around

  • @bogawoo haha right on.

  • i used to have this car, mine had the same problem, not sure what was causing it because i've now sold the car, the car had so many problems i just wanted to start out new, now i got a 1989 CRX Si with bad valves(they rattle) and it eats up oil supposedly it has 161k miles on the engine but i'm skeptical of that, so i get a car that looks alot better has a few less problems with it but has some new problems that my other crx didn't have, it's definitely a nicer car though, don't regret buying it

  • thanks for watching but sucks to be you i guess i fixed up everthing in this car.. not much problems.. all i have is body work and axle shafts. for the valves clicking do you u know how to adjust it? and you should just get a new engine then if its eating too much oil or u can rebuild it.

  • to ajust you valve lash look in your manual its to long to type in a comment here lol

  • I have the same idle problem for 89 honda accord. I thought it was the fuel injectors but its probably pcv valve that should be easy to replace. clogged valve causing seal and gasket leaks and thats eaxactly whats happening. leaks everywhere.

  • yeh theres different causes but if that works for you good luck. i had to change my idle air control valve

  • vacum leak?

  • they are right. i had 3 85 crx's 1 hf and 2 Si's if you dont have the money to replace it. take the 2 screws off the top of it turn the large brass screw inside down till it stops. if the idle goes down theres a small screw on top turn it till its between 500-600 rpm put the top back on and there you go no more idle wierdness.

  • Idle Air Control Valve. My brothers accord did it for years until he replaced it.

  • just get a whole new car dude i dnt hate hondas i love em but i never liked the crx the hatches allways looked the best n r lighter jus get rid of it ... for the idle ... try ur idle control valve

  • yeh menn i know filipino pride but i like to keep it clean you know maybe the horns. but shit k24 that sounds imposible for this car the engine bay is too small. i dont wanna cut in the firewall and shit. i can do it doh.. but ehh too much work. haha dig this doh. im putting the theme of this car blue red and yellow. i already got yellow valve covers in it. this video is old

  • do something to make pinoy..and put a K24 in it.. sounds badass' no fat chicks allowed.

  • UPGRADE..

  • gimme the money then i'll upgrade to a b16 turbo!

  • correction any car got potential

  • i still dont understand why anyone trys to upgrade the ew engines. theyre soooooo slow

  • no money man and they got potential!.

  • ud spen more money trying to get them to be fast then you would to just drop in a bseries.

  • well thats not my point here. im tryna be as cheap as i can to get a good running car but hey if imma spend more than a thousand on that engine your right i mind ass well get a b series coz i got hook ups on that. full swap for 1 grand. but then i dont have the money and i dont drive this as much.

  • Yo man, take out the Tornado Air insert. They only take away power and cause rough idles. They DO NOT benefit your car in any way. Read a few reviews on the inserts and you will see what i mean.

  • i agree with you but it sounds better if u know what i mean. ahahhaha. well i guess its about time i take it out and see the difference.

  • oh btw who ever said its the o2 sensor if it was a o2 sensor the ECU will kick the engine light on.

  • are u selling the crx

  • uhmmmm hellll no!

  • if you have not fixed your idle problem check your IAC. its on the back of the intake manifold next to the throttlebody. take the 3 screws off of the IAC and use a flat tip driver to turn the valve down all the way and put your hand over the valve if the idle changes buy a NEW ONE not one from a junkyard. my last 85 si did the same thin i replaced the vavle and it never did it again

  • uhm excuse me. the junkyard is the best solution.. and it doesnt need to be new. what i did is i grab the valves from a similar one and replace my old one with it and now it works fine. no engine check no problems. nothing...

  • nice i just cleaned mine out and perfect

  • nice to hear that. haha look at this ppl with money! go for the new......... shiittt i just pocketed my shit. lol.

  • me and my brother are doing a full resto project there rust around the wheel wells which is fine since its surface. but who ever owned it before pretty much ripped the front bumper off and we need new sheet metal to weld on, its being held on by 3 bolts.

  • goddamn thats some serious work right there. this wouldve been restored by now if i had the money and a good welder. fro the front bumper its the same story for yours my cousin who was the 2nd owner front ended someone and now the headlights looks all crooked and shit. i need new housing for it. the current ones are too rusted to be reshaped. are you gonna go with the d15a3 or ur gonna swap it for d16 or a b16?

  • we have a turbo'd b16 right now its not in the car yet all it needs is to be installed.we fixed all the interior last month but reinstalling everything i tipped a table saw and made a huge dent in the side of the car lol but its we need to do metal work anyways

  • oh thanks bro i think i already looked at that and adjusted it and it does make a difference but yeh imma go get a new asap from a junk yard or something. but that i.a.c. thing ur talking about is the one after the throttle body right? where its just flat. and a lil screw on it.

  • ohh btw to all the ppl who think this "piece of shit" is slow. think again coz it can keep up with a 98 civic.

  • My 87 si hatch clocked 145mph before it was stolen. That was with only an estimated 140 hp. What u got? They sat the d15a3 can handle up to 220hp intill stuff breaks. Looks like it needs a few touch ups. But thats the original paint is it not? Looks like its in good shape. You can still save it. If I can't find a hatch, I'm going with a crx. My ECU was scavenged from a CRX and yes, I noticed the difference...

  • thats not that much better to be compared to... and LOL at the racing pedals..

  • oh yea your idle problem may be linked to your TPS sensor most hondas do that when the TPS is fucked.. go buy a subaru youll enjoy it. but if you think that your crx is fast a subbie might be to much power for you ....lol

  • what the fuck u tryna say? im a fuckin newb that dont know how to race? who cant handle more more than 100 hp... well think before you plant that down i've driven stronger car than a fuckin subaru.

  • ...ricer.

  • lagowski24 and ur a fag but no one said anything about that did they...what do you have a fuckin pinto punk ass bitch

  • vaccum leak or the intake mani gasket is leaking some where you have a vaccum leak...doesnt sound like the iac but i might be wrong

  • ur car is super slow!! and its not cool to take a video of a stock piece o' shit honda!!lmfao

  • WELL FUCK YOU ASSHOLE

  • my '87 civic si had the same problem, i changed the radiator cap because my old cap wasnt sealed all the way, and it stopped doing that. its amazing what one thing can do for $9.

  • hahah you must be kidding me dude. i did change my radiator cap coz it was steamin up before.. didnt do anything to the idle issue. so im getting the pcv valve fixed somewhere this week and i will post up a new video if it does get fixed.

  • where is it located? and maybe ur talkin about the idle motor. or maybe they are the same thing we just call them differently.

  • hey dude, you need to verify that the air control of the car is clean. if it is dirty or damage it does that up and down idle. if it is damage, you will need to replace it, and man mine came out to de $250.00 dolares. if it doesnt have the air control then it is the flow-meter that isnt working well. that is what controls the flow of air and gasonline. mines i have to clean it at least 2 a year.

  • maybe i will when i start racing.

  • turbo it

  • dude whats wrong with ur idle?

  • i wish i would have thought about that

  • ohh ahhaha ur the one who wasted like a hundred dollars just for an intake and u dont even race with it?

  • pretty simple ! bleed your coolant and if it's doing the same thang remplace your IACV valve thats your idle problem

  • yah my ride does that to its a 86 thou but what i know is that the o2 sensor is bad and also does it idle normal when the engine warms up because i let it warm up in then it idles fine oh and you dont have a sunroof right

  • i do have a sunroof. well did you fix it?? i'd like to know what else besides the 02 if u did fix urs

  • i just replaced my pvc valve and the idle still bounces up and down like this 1g crx.

  • Type in "PCV Valve" on youtube and select one of those tutorial vids....It may not necessarily be your car but it might give you an idea on how to fix yours!!

  • Ya i agree it's either the egr valve or the pcv valve. I cleaned my egr valve myself with some carburater cleaner, seemed to solve the check engine light problem lol

  • but then i dont have a check engine light...imma go check the pcv valve does anyone know how to clean or change it?

  • you got a problem with your pcv valve...

  • you gotta check your idle sounds off.you should try a 90-93 ls motor i got a crx and wow.already smoked 2 gsr's and 1 hatch with a b16.

  • is that a 45 degree bend on your intake?

  • 45?? nah thats 90 degree. and the stock pipes..

  • idk if this has a FITV if so take apart clean and put it back together thats what i did with my hatchy.

  • uhm whats a FITV. is it something about the fuel injection unit?? coz my suspect is a leak from the brake booster coz i hear a whizzing sound when i'm inside the car and the brake feels like its getting sucked in when i firt step into it.

  • might want to replace that egr valve on the back of the intake the idle goes up and down.

  • clean

  • haha well mark has something going on

  • hahhahaha. cheyah.
