instead of the studio version that tells you to play D, Bb, and F in the bass play the same chords as the right hand. thats what he always does live! now what he is doing here is rolling those same chords in different variations. so basically play those chords and mess with different rolls and rhythms and you'll have it! he is so good he can just mess around with it and it sounds amazing like that...

I've always played the studio (left: D F A; right: C F A etc..)....I saw him doing this in his vey early sessions live in like 2002

yea that works to. any combination of those notes gets you the scientist. if im playing accoustic like this i usually start off with the easy studio version then add more stuff as the song goes on it adds to the affect. but this is just insanely good all around
