U2 is a a Christian rock band evangelizing the world with Bible verse....I love it. Crumbs from the masters table is referencing
BIBLE REFERENCES IN U2 LYRICS
Drawing Their Fish in the Sand
"One man betrayed with a kiss" -- "Jesus said to him, 'Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?'" "You know his blood still cries from the ground" -- Genesis 4:10 -- "[The murder of Abel by Cain] "Until the End of the World"
"We ate the food, we drank the wine...I took the money...
@takeheed7777 That's right. "Let the children first be fed, for it is not meet to take the children's bread and to cast it unto dogs., Yes Lord, yet the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the master's table."
u2 should stick to this sound.their sound.best album, unforgettable fire too.and of course the energy of their first albums.but these guys can take this sound farther yet even as they age.i could listen to this album sound in an arrangement similar to what yes did to close to the edge.
When you look at HTADB. the album in itself is epic and one of the most successful one. every song proved its worth after releasing. but when you look at this track, it never got an opportunity to prove its worth. i rate this song over Vertigo. thanks derrick for uploading this song. otherwise it would have lost somewhere.
@sunnysharma85 HTADB was not even close to their most successful album/cd... they never released this song because it wasnt radio worthy and they couldnt play it live. they only played this song just over a handfull of times live. just look at Achtung Baby and the Zoo Tour... they only released 3 songs when the tour started, but started the concert with 5-7 songs from the album/cd just like the 360 tour start the show with 4 -6 new songs.. they do what they want... the WORTH is the whole cd..
Even though I'm a newcomer and only have "Boy", "War" and "How To Dismante An Atomic Bomb". It's official, my favorite U2 albums are "War" and "HTDMAAB". I'm planning on getting "The Unforgettable Fire" and "No Line on the Horizon". I know I need to get "Achtung Baby" and "The Joshua Tree". I've heard the majority of the tracks from both albums-I prefer "Achtung Baby" by a hair over "Joshua Tree".
"With a mouth full of teeth, you ate all your friends, and you broke every heart thinking every heart mends".
With lyrics like that, it's hard to criticise "How to Dismantle....". Maybe I'm biast because it's the album that got me into their music, but on the bad days when I need something with a deep vein of emotion pulsing through it, it's songs from this album that I turn to.
Approximately a week ago, I bought my first U2 album "Boy" and it stands to be undeniably one of the best debut albums from any artist that has had a considerable amount of inspiration on me personally.
I didnt care much for the last two U2 albums, beyond a few songs on each that I thought were absolutely brilliant, and this song is the true gem on Atomic Bomb, it would have fit in perfectly on Joshua Tree.
Fortunately, it sounds like the new album is more geared towards this harder, edgier old-school U2 sound of the past (despite the horrible "Boots" single), and this song was probably an early indicator of it.
why do people complain about Bono having a meet and greet with bush back in 2002?
first of all, Bush hadn't invaded Iraq yet, and his approval rating was up in the skies. Chances are, a lot of us bush haters loved or at least respected him back then.
secondly, in one of the only good things to come out of the bush presidency, he granted 15 BILLION DOLLARS of AIDS relief to africa. And bono is obseesed with Africa. Bush, suprisingly, followed up on his promise, and did give aid to africa.
What classifies "emo" ? I wear skinny jeans and band t-shirts, and I LOVE U2. Bono is pure genius. He writes amazing lyrics and donates to charities all the time. And even though I don't much care for screamo or rap, I still think both take some talent. I sure as hell couldn't scream for an hour straight. And as for rap, some rap is meaningless and all about sex, but most screamo is meaningless too, but real rap actually has a meaning. It actually tells a story or has a point.
America are the biggest charity givers? maybe all together for the sheer size of the states... but look at the other contributions they give to the world...

.i saw u2 play when bono couldnt even sing,,,i will admit that they are a great band mainly due to the edge but most people outside of ireland believe that bono is a saint but the truth is that he is an egomaniac,so self rightious and even though sometimes correct but all done for his own self esteem.he realy isnt who you think he is...he probably read de milo,s (awareness) and tried and buy all the copies and the rights ,incase his secret got out .
This music is the best there is...I love U2...but.
I am sure there are plenty of rich folk who do not help the poor (although the bloody tax rate is close to 65%) - but the US remains...far and above anyone the most charitable nation there is 100 times over. This includes private benevolence and government aid. I think Bono made great music here but totally misses the mark...
hah..He does alot more than you do dear friend. Why should he devote his entire life to charity? And if you think there's something wrong in enjoying yourself and life, you're total waste of space and time..better luck next time

... Yhea from all the people the rich and wealthy rockstar Bono has something to say about people who are poor ?... WTH does Bono do about the poor parts of the earth ? Sure I am sure he donated a few thousands, but do you think he cares more then a few hours after the donation ?... Shit.
You have no idea! Bono works endlessly for the poor. Almost to the dismantlement of the band. Thankfully, his friends are much more tollerant of his work that you are with HIS time. You sicken me.

Endlessly? I saw him on Opera talking about it and right after it he stepped into an expensive car, went shopping...yhea he really cares. Go and talk about how good you are for people then spend you're money on expsnive items you don't really need. Bono is an hypocrite. He is just doing those things to make him feel good about himself. It's obvious. If he REALLY wanted to make a statement, atleast don't wheir designer clothes and glasses, go and drive in expensive cars.
So by your logic, anyone that does not live like a poor man, is a rich bastard that don't care about them? Sure thing >_> Now look, mr Almighty. Bono has given A LOT of money and time for the poor people. Now don't come here and say that he hasn't done anything. His song "One" also speaks out of his concerns. Now donate some money yourself, since you sicken me as well.
OK, so according to you since he has money he has to donate it all? I think he deserves to spend it in whatever he wants, after all, he earned it fair and square with hard work. He sets a good example by getting involved with helping the poor, trying to make this world better.
This is certainly one of my favorite songs. I have this album. It's one of those albums that are so good, I can just press play and leave it alone; no skipping, it's all good.
