  • Sorry aber die ersten 7 Sekunden sind das niedlichste was ich gesehen habe... :-x

  • English is an infinite language

  • Yay featured video,

  • Thanks for all the great videos! My first video was you making the TARDIS, it was so amazing! keep up the great work!

By the way: I love your accent: it is German, but also British English :D

  • The Doctor Who fun fact was dynamite. Also the b in thumb is silent... for some reason, I have no idea why, we spell it with the b in there, but do not pronounce it. It's almost as if they wrote thum, then thought the word wasn't long enough and tacked on a b. Or a long long time ago, someone cheated at Scrabble and it stuck.

  • Mh, Macbeth's final monologue :)

  • Ok I think you might be the best person on here. One question what country are you from? I know its not England.

  • if you were my teacher in school, i wouldnt have skipped classes ... ever

  • *hüstelElsenichtElkehüstel* ;)

  • @thepuppetmaster2501 Aaah, the shame! *goes hide in a corner*

  • i see you've been watching alot of House M.D :)

  • :)))) I felt so smart when i knew the Celan thing^^

  • I wonder how Shakespeare sounds translated into German

  • @RebbelReb No idea, really. Never read Shakespeare in German. A lot less magical than the original, I imagine. But maybe that's just because I would be able to understand all of the words. ;)

  • yep. I'd like to meet a woman like you.

  • I'd marry you. endofstory.

  • You should have cited Faust, the whole book is made up from metaphors -.-

  • Grade 8 English all over again. xD

  • The lines on the role of death as a metaphor was actually very good!

  • This is a bit off topic but I think you look quite a lot like Donna Noble from Doctor Who. Also I'm in love with your videos, it's my aspiration to be an English teacher someday so I'm eager to see what other informative videos you put out! =D

  • "In Blink, the weeping angels around the...oh no, that's a fact."

    O_O

    MOFFAT!

  • Yay, I'm so happy that you quoted As you like it... and Macbeth.

My school did a condensed version of Macbeth for our fall play. (I was Witch#3 :D)

AAAND... My chorus is performing "Blow Blow, Thou Winter Wind" from Shakespeare's As you like it. We get to do the 7 ages of man as an introduction. (I'm doing age 6)

Anyway, I am really glad Hank sent nerdfighteria to your channel... even though the video sent it with was a sad one.

  • We have many words that are redundant in and of their existence, however I feel that their existence and the intricacies of language are what makes it beautiful, if less comprehensive. My opinion on the deletion of words is derived from George Orwell's 1984, which most American/English scholars are well-familiar with, though I'm not sure how common it is in Germany.

  • @FlobotsFan101 It is. Very. At least among educated people.

  • Be my English teacher, please? You don't have a monotonous voice, you're funny, you're awesome, and you have an awesome accent.

  • These videos are amazing! I always forget teachers are people too and feel bad for it (Think back to that episode of doctor who in the school), I hope all mine are as secretly cool as you :P

  • You're so awesome! :D You've re-inspired me to continue studying languages...(no matter how confusing they are. T^T) Thank you! :D

  • Oh gosh, you're the first english teacher that has ever made me laugh and learn at the same time :D I might be able to learn some interesting things about the english language before I learn them at school now :D

  • plus, your english is incredible. you've got to consider that english is not my first language when I say that, but still... congratulations! I just loved your accent - that doesn't sound at all german to my unprofessional ears -, and at the same time sounds slightly strange - when compared to what I'm used to - in a way (in a lovely way).

  • I've got to say, you seem to be one of the coolest person I've ever seen. I myself have been thinking a lot about studying languages (I'm 15, by the way), which would probably make me end up being a teacher. however, I was about to give up before I watched one of your videos. I've never had a language teacher that seemed to be as fascinated about the whole thing as I am. but then you suddenly showed up, and, for a second, I thought I really knew what I wanted to be. thank you so much!

  • @isapiels Aaah, this is, like, the best compliment ever! I... I, I don't even know how to react to this... exept with stuttering. Thank you! XD

  • heartbroken = "I feel so sad if physicaly hurts (in the middle of my body)"

Aaaaand now we know why we say "heartbroken" instead of this long-winded mess.

    hmmmm.

Teachers are like metaphors because they use words we know to lead us to the understanding of things we previously had no words for.

    This is a simily.

  • But then where do analogies come into the equation?

  • Hank was right :) keep up the amazing work!

  • I just got that your name is a play on sally sparrow from doctor who XD I love the ripped wallpaper in your room by the way - it's brilliant! You're videos are really interesting and fun - you're going to go soo far on youtube! XD

  • Haha, love the multiple personalities :D

  • your like ....

a catipillar sillysparrows, that becomes a butterfly .... fragile, yet adorable.

  • @georgecarra That sounds really sweet, but I'm not... fragile. Do I seem fragile? Hm.

  • this is the best explanation i've ever heard of metaphors.

  • Oooh, original content! I'll be subscribing and see what comes next! :)

  • That's serious...entertainment.

  • :)
