Sewing the Bowl

I am having difficulty beginning this coil. I can't get the fabric to move along. I am using the zigzag stitch with the zigzag presser foot. Really struggling. I've tried pushing, pulling, lightly lifting the presser foot, nothing seems to work. I can't seem to find any videos with some starting the coil from the beginning.
