  • Maybe it's my imagination (have watched this video numerous times) - but is Gillan given Blackmore "the finger" at 0.49? Realize their relationship was at its worse and Ritchie left the same year Ian came back - 1993, this time, I think.

  • What a band!! Phenomenal stuff!!

  • В бой идут одни старики!!! и ЭТО ЖЕСТЬ!!!!

  • @MrTubzman learn to write in latin letter and speak english, you shit slav. Or better yet, leave the internet and create some slavic net where you can do what you do best, troll and be useless.

  • @shatterhandeve Отсоси Сука!!! Не тебе Блядь говорить мне на каком языке мне

Оставлять коментарий,хочеш понять че я там написал выучи Русский МРАЗьь!!!

  • Gillan's performance is not human

  • Ian's drumming is just superb

  • I love it when Ritchie glares in 2:15 - I think he's glaring at Gillan.... Gillan was dancing directly in front of Ritchie a lot in this song - particularly during Ritchie's guitar solos - I think he was trying to tick Ritchie off... hehe Love Gillans screams in this song - a lot of feeling - and Ritchie played with equal feeling and is amazing in this recording. This is my favourite recording on the Come Hell or Highwater release...

  • @The LordOfCoal I think 1993 when Gillan joined the band again. Ritchie left by the end of the year - not happy lol.

  • The Communication between ritchie and Lords at 2.50 simply awesome

  • year?

  • great tune !!!!!!!!!!! THE MASTER OF DP

is sad but the truth is that nothing sounds like R blackmore on guitar . before of this comes the master Joe satriani but purple is better with richi

excellent drummer as well !!!!!!........................................ the master IAN PAICE

  • GREAT performance - love this one.

  • best purple line-up ever!

  • Great progg-rock music, Gillan's voice is powerfull as usual.

  • what is the name of that DVD?

  • @Soldfier Come Hell or High Water!!

  • Blackmore looks like Louis XIV, but he plays guitar better ;)

  • Best song ever, and the best version ever

  • ritchi an john realy anderstand ich other

  • awesome performance , gillian could really pack it in back then, and blackmore is still my number one influence when it comes to writing songs, best band ever, well it's a tie between them and queen :))

  • @powerslave887 If you think he could sing here, you should have seen him in 1972, I was lucky enough to have seen them back then. Unreal !!!

  • steve morse wishes in his dreams to be able to play anything like that little part that ritchie plays from 2: 52 - 3:12

  • @wedge173, like in 'Highway Star'

  • blackmore will be the best for ever

  • i never really heard this album, is it a good album, i really love ritchie, even though i love steve morse, i don't even bother listening to them with him, i still tend want to listen to richie, but his style is a little to different, maybe i haven't heard his heavy blacknight stuff, i really love in rock, machine head, fireball, and of course burn and stormbringer, i love ritchie,

  • @vanhalen515084 This is the best album with perfect strangers since 70's, so yes this is a good album ;D

  • 2:50!!! <3

  • Amazing. Ritchie is awsome!!!

  • Ótima performance, levando em consideração que na época já estava insustentável a relação entre Ian Gillan e Ritchie Blackmore.

  • Makes no sense who is singing, nor who is the best guitarist, if there is not a elemental base of mr: Paice, mr. Lord and mr. Glover.

  • All is perfect in this version. Power but not noise, incredible musicianship, full of feeling. Everything is there. This is one of the best songs of the band's history

  • Morse is a great guitarist. But can anyone name me one song he has WRITTEN that is anywhere on the map of classic songs? Just one. Please?

  • @gruceus Take It off the top (Dixie Dregs), All I wanted (Kansas), even a DP song: Sometimes I feel like screaming... no offence, but you should open your ears wider.

  • this song is actually about the "war" between Ritchie and Ian Gillan

  • only one band can write songs like this..... mark II of Deep Purple! incredible reunion in 93

  • timeless

  • It doesn't matter how old are you when you love real music. It comes from the heart.

  • this music and other for deep purple and all the music that was made in the 70

are better than todays music abot one milliion time ......fuck you justin bieber and fuck the people who are love you

  • Come Hell or High Water! Ez a koncert az etalon a Deep Purple életében! Feltétlenül meg kell nézni!

  • @tacsu1 Minden koncertjüket meg kell nézni ;) All of their concerts have to be seen. ;)

  • The 2 who disliked are Justin Beiber fans..

  • This is one of the best songs ever made by deep purple (one of a lot)!!!

  • RICHIE KNOW THE PREFECT SONG BY FENDER STRATOCASTER.STEVE MORSE WIL NEVER BE THE SAME THING.DEEP PURPLE IS RICHIE.SORRY FOR THE GRAMATIC.IM BRAZILIAN

  • @yuriklimovas

Richie Blackmoore is a genial guitarist and composer. Better than Morse I think, BUT Morse is a team player. Look when they play with Morse how everybody is happy. Look when Blackmoore playes: an egocentric egoman. A solist yes, but not more a bandplayer.

  • @ElTchibo1 I tottaly agree, wanted to coment that too but didn'd wanna diss the major crowd and fans... I simply see no soul in Blackmore

  • It's in Birmingham in 1993. You can find this video on DP's live album "Come Hell or High Water"

  • Someone know where this live is located!?!?!? This song is simply amazing...i have never thought that deep purple were so great as well in the early 90'

  • Comment removed

  • If i didn't know who they are i would think they're comedians :D. Look at Ian's bunny hop at the begining, Blackmore's face and eyes while playng main riff and solo, Lord's "cat moves" at 3:15 ... uh, i can't stop laughing. I know they're great musicians, but... what the hell did they eat before that concert?! :D

  • I love this piece...the performance is fascinating....absolutely DP - that blackmore, glover, paice, Lord, and Gillian...what a line up....BY EBONYROCK. I like Steve Morse, but that Ritchie...started me on guitar in 1974....he was greater as time went on...love his fingering....BEFORE STEVIE , he was it. YOU FOOL NO ONE - HIM AND PAICE....SMOOTH AND DRIVING!!!!

  • Gillan is the master of double entendre...

this song is as much about the perpetual state of mankind on the macro-level

as it is about the toxic relationship between Blackmore and Gillan

Gillan is an underrated lyricist who emotes his biting irony with aplomb.....

and despite Blackmore's genius, this is a song where Gillan is the star....

  • so extremely powerful and impressive.!only one band in the world is able to produce something like this.Deep Purple and only Deep Purple.

  • Simply legends

  • Richie Blackmore is god

  • I also play this song in Drop D, maybe there is a more correct way, but Drop D sounds pretty good. I too can understand what it means to "see" the way a guitar is tuned. Drop D tuning inspires a different style of play from Standard tuning. As does Open G, or the numerous other possible tunings. It does appear as if he plays in Drop D, but it maybe not. Either way the song rocks and so does the way Ritchie plays it!

  • @AsaphProject Thanks a lot ;)

Yeah, the point here is that Blackmore is quite a gifted guy ;) and so are all the other guys in Deep Purple (gotta say I love the current lineup with the amazing Steve Morse)!

  • Fantastic. What a Voice, a Keyboard, a Drum & a Bass. I love these Musicians.

    Kindest Regards from MUC.

  • Konflikt? Między Mistrzami: Ritchie Blackmere i Ian Gillan? Bzdury.......To Muzycy Wysokiego Poziomu. Mam Do Nich Szacunek, nie obchodzi mnie, razem, osobno, Są Najlepsi w rock and roll

  • The guys arguing below this comment just lowered my faith to humanity by 17,6%; making it total of -2500242,2%. People, it really ain't cool type like "u r" instead of "you are" and "noob"? Can you guys humiliate yourself even more? What a damn disgrace.

  • thatt drum fill that kicks in the song is so freakin sweet.

  • Ritchie Blackmore celebrates his 65th birthday today !

  • At 2.15 Blackmore is giving Gillan some serious dirty looks.

  • Gillan should have decked Blackmore right there in front of the camera. Not just for the dirty looks, but the inconsistent guitar work.

    LLDP!!!

  • Yeah. In the early 90's Blackmore began to hate Gillan for no reason, but that shoudn't be too surprising considering that many peaple say Blackmore's a difficult person. Though he's great as a guitarist, as a person he's an asshole and I'm glad he left Deep Purple.

  • @800764 Nah, that's just his concentration face. I've seen it alot in his videos with Rainbow.

  • Joe Lynn Turner calls this album The Cattle Grazes On. Hahaha. Sour grapes I guess.

  • I call Slaves And Masters..Grave Disasters.

Joe thinks that's DP's best album lol

  • did anyone notice, that blackmore does not use his usual white fender? this one doesn't have this synth-pickup-thing... and Battle Rages On is the only song he has another one (I've got the DVD)

it's the same thing on the Bregenz rehearsals tape (the only other footage from 93 that I know)

what's so special in this song? maybe because of the rythm chords?? he has a quite wiry sound on these..

any ideas?? i thought he would only use other guitars if he intends to smash it^^

  • he use the same guitar through the whole show!whats your point?

  • if you look closely, for example at 00:15 you can clearly see that this guitar does not have this black roland guitar synth box next to the bridge... which can be seen on his guitar on every other song of this concert and at least at the 91 and 95 tours, so I was astonished to see a guitar without it

  • btw it also hat black pickups, while his regular (at least 1993) has flat white ones.

  • oh, yeah, good point. ritchie in the 80s messed up his sound with overplaying through phaser and synth box, thank god he came to his sence in 90s

  • he should be playing in drop D in this song

  • This guitar has the E string dropped to a D.

  • @wwahc1964 no it doesnt ur retarded. stop trying to actlike u know stuff about guitar

  • Comment removed

  • @nickmandemon actually it does. the low E string is downtuned to D, as the riff is based mostly around the use of open strings. In this very video you can see how Blackmore plays it and it is pretty clear he is playing in Drop D.

Do not go so harsh on people, specially when you do not know what you are talking about. Keep it polite dude

  • @Pinorules alright maybe i was harsh on the tard up there, but i can actually play this song, and you are right, it is based around alot of open strings, but it is not drop D. and how can you say you can "see" that his guitar is in drop D?

  • @nickmandemon I do play the song myself once in a while and in the vid you can clearly see what frets he is playing in, the very same I do play it in. The lowest note in the main riff is a D, an open low D, so he certainly is playing in either D or dropped D, and the former wouldn't make any sense taking into account all the other notes (all the open strings), would it?

Surely you could play the song using a higher D, but that is not what it sounds like.

  • @Pinorules ok, ill post a video of me playing it and prove that ur retarted and just trying to look cool

  • theres not a lot of open string, just the e, you tune it down to d. You can actually see that is a drop d because when he plays the riff in the sixth string would sound higher if wasnt tuned down.

  • Magical Solo on Lead Electric from the master himself, Mr. Richard Blackmore :D

  • look and listen closely............the voice is subtlely dubbed over

  • I think that in the minute 2:40 Ian said the batlle Ritchie is on ajajaj

  • LOL i think it's rages

  • I swear, Ian Gillan's face looks exactly like Robert DeNiro's face in this.

I love the main riff on this song! This has got to be my favorite Deep Purple song; just a great song.

    Ritchie Blackmore is awesome!

  • That riff is the same figure that Richie did in the "Bent Out Of Shape" album in the song "Fire Dance", after the solo.

Listen to that song and you will know...

By the way is a great riff hehe.

  • You are right. I just checked it out:) I didn't knew haha!

  • so deniros can do the film about deep purple hahaha

  • wtf, its a great song!

  • Human nature you let the strong survive

Oh don't talk to me of love

    Be serious it's not enough

  • Been so many words so much to say Words are not enough to keep the guns at bay Some live in fear some do not Some gamble everything on who gets the final shot Oh don't talk to me of love It's obvious it's not enough Annihilation kill them all Capitulation watch the mighty fall The road to glory is lined in red And though the reason now is gone The battle rages on Was it love or hate that got here first Hate's a habit it's hard to shake the curse Kill to live and live to die
  • Gillan wasnt that kind against Blackmore

  • great guitar of blackmore

  • you can tell blackmore was not going to stay with deep purple, just look at how he glares at ian gillan, i wonder why ritchie blackmore was the way he was?

  • You cant imagine what is like to touch his hand, or Ms. Night's. The gods walk among us. I placed a white rose at her feet and she squeezed my hand as he said "never so many witches in one place"

  • 1:20 Awesome!

  • ladies and gentlemen :the lord of the strings mr ritchie blackmore

  • the solo in the end... is once more not from this planet...

He must be a total mental maniac. never there will be a guitar player like him. all those others are just lousy wanna be´s...

  • @kar98ksniper Yes with all his stolen riffs LOL

  • @LifesAnElevator its obvious that u r a noob.u dont know shit about music and rock guitar.thats fact.and thats sad

  • @kar98ksniper well little man ,Blackmore was the first to admit it in interview and even pointed out which songs the riffs came from . I think i probably know more than you. bye NOOB .......................

  • Mr.Blacmore seems to be stoned! But he handles, not so nice to look "deadman" playing

  • In 0215 he looks like freaking zombie:)But anyway,he keeps rocking!!

  • I saw him at the "ZDF Fernsehgarden" three years ago in Germany-Mainz. I was standing at the stage entrance and he walked on the stage, I really "feeled something" behind me, I turned around and Blackmore was passing me, it is difficult to find the right words to describe this situation...he IS a dark Lord, a "Sith Lord". Darth Vader is a katholic Pathfinder against him.

  • lol, he fucking hates him :)

  • This is at Birmingham NEC

I was at this gig, the crowd were a bit flat, which I find often happens at the NEC

    Anyones daughter was sweet

  • i think the bass should be louder =)

  • led zeppelin ,deep purple and black sabbath are the rock n roll trinity.3 different bands that shaped the music scene.infact they are the first three in rating at best selling albums
