  • Isnt this only the opening scene. not the trailer?

  • @hampshireman65 Oh if it were that simple

  • GOOD GIRL

  • @MexicoesMierda I couldn't agree with you more both Redgrave daughters Vanessa & Lynn were/are gorgeous and wonderful actresses too though sadly Lynn always was stuck in Vanessa's shadow at least by critics Vanessa has said they were never competitive against each other. Britians so called young actresses of today could learn so much from both of them we miss Lynn so much she didn't deserve the fate she got

  • The British were rockin' the 60's--the British Invasion; the mod look; movies like this; and hosting and winning (with some controversy) the 1966 World Cup.

  • FYI...this is not the original soundtrack to the movie but rather the record version of the song superimposed on to the picture. Not that I mind - I like the clip - but I thought people ought to know.

  • At 1:32 it looks like Georgy Girl is looking at her cell phone...

Yes I realize what she was looking at. This was one of my late Mom's favorite films. She saw a part of her in Georgy Girl, and talked about 'Georgy Girl' the entire time I was growing up (I am 40 years BTW). I almost teared up watching this trailer.

    Nature Freak in Florida.

  • Lynn Redgrave made her mark with Georgy Girl. I remember how we all felt while walking out of the theatre... not a dry eye to be found, and the movie was genuine.

  • She will always be Georgy Girl in my heart, tell Corin and Natasha we love them too!!!!

  • One of the best songs ever for ensemble harmony!

  • omg no cell phones in the 60's! She was just checking herself out in a compact with a mirror!

  • everybody wants to be a georgy girl.

  • 1:31 Did she take a picture of herself with her mobile phone?

  • Why do the islamofascists have to ruin all the fun?!

  • And that tune was composed by the same man as composed the themes for Upstairs Downstairs and The Duchess of Duke Street.

  • I wonder if that is the King's Road ? (1960's) I'm trying to check out Peter Jones!!

  • The GREAT Peter Lawford? He was a "clinger". He was only know for a marrying into the Kennedy clan and for hanging around as part of the "Rat Pack". Other than that, he was a 3rd rate actor.

  • How could anyone not love Lynn Redgrave in this role? Even though no one was going to top Liz that year, so glad sweet Lynn was nominated for her work in a role she could always be very proud of!! RIP love.

  • @spagandtuna Sure, Lynn was a darling, But what about the great Peter Lawford?

  • @SaxPortal Oh my goodness, you didn't really write that. I spend a lot of time demonstrating why Lawford, Robert Wagner, Ryan O'Neil and others constitute the worst no-talents of their generation. Specific to Lawford, that bum was such a low-life, he turned his own son on to drugs, was eventually tossed to the curb by the moral pillars, the Kennedys, and ended up skid row. FORTUNATELY, I THINK you were referring to James Mason's great performance, and sorry for the omission.

  • @spagandtuna It seems like an odd way to pick & choose who to dislike. I love Mason, but he was having an affair with Lynn when this film was made. And he was still married to Pam Kellino. He also made a commercial for "thunderbird" wine, every skid row bums favorite. (it's on youtube).

  • @SaxPortal You're right, I neglected to mention that Lawford was also a lousy actor. Although I do give him props for being able to occupy one type of role, that of a wealthy playboy in a light comedy. He was actually the best part of a Jack Lemmon bomb, The April Fools. So I'm trying to be fair.

  • @spagandtuna An anecdote; When Pat Kennedy left Lawford, she took Everything ! out of their LA home. He sent her all the swimming pool water in plastic containers to her NY apartment. You didn't see Lawford in "Exodus" where he plays an anti semite Brit officer. : or in "A stolen face", where he slaps Bette Davis. Or a classic "Alfred Hitchcock presents" as a calm killer.

  • at one time, the FILM VERSION of the song was posted with this video clip. I lost it when my computer crashed. Is there any chance you can redo this with the FILM version of the song?

    Would really appreciate it!

  • Such a nice movie and a great song. Hollywood needs to get it together. The world is in a giant creative void now. RIP Lynn.

  • A great actress, a great human being-not like those stuck up Hollywood types

  • Rest in peace, Lynn. You will be greatly missed by so many. You were a beautiful woman with a beautiful talent and it is deeply saddening to have such a great soul taken from this world. Thank you for entertaining so many generations of people. You will be remembered forever!

  • In 1967 about an hour before my daughter was born in February 10th this was playing on the radio. I swore that if she were to be born in the next hour I would call her Georgina, if she were a girl of course, I didnt know. Well she wasnt born until three hours later and she was called Penelope. She tells me 43 years later she would have quiet liked that. RIP Lynn

  • Lynn will always be Georgy Girl to me. RIP Georgy.

  • I love the grin she gives the driver at 0:29...I wonder what exchange they had to provoke that...probably wont ever know....

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, God bless Lynn Redgrave. When she gets the mirror out of her handbag it looks for a moment she's about to start texting but of course it's 1966. Very interested that the cheerful theme song was composed by Alexander Faris who also composed the themes for Upstairs Downstairs and The Duchess of Duke Street.

  • @Cool2BCeltic This is incorrect. The lyrics of Georgy Girl were written by Jim Dale and the music by Tom Springfield, Dusty's brother.

  • RIP Georgie girl.

  • Rest well Ms Redgrave. You'll always be our Georgy Girl, that everyone loved.

  • A wonderful person and actress. RIP Lynn

  • I love this dumb song...LOL

  • R.I.P. Lynn Redgrave.

  • what an amazing actress, what a great person, Lynn you are so missed already!!!!

  • Lynn Redgrave, taken from us too soon at sixty seven. My heart goes out to Vanessa who also lost her Daughter Natasha and Brother Corin. I will always remember you as the girl with the heart of gold in (Georgie Girl), and as Rita Tushingham's friend Yvonne from (Smashing Time). RIP Dear Lynn.

  • Goodbye Lynn we'll miss you and you will forever be Georgy Girl in our hearts. Tell Natasha and Corin we love them too!

  • Always wondered where this came from since my moms name is Georgia

  • RIP Lynn, you will never be forgotten!

One of my most favorite films Georgy Girl!

  • RP Lynn Redgrave.

  • I was shocked and saddened to hear about the passing of Lynn Redgrave. Georgy Girl will always be one of my favorite films. RIP, "Georgy"....

  • Terrible quality!

  • Still love this movie. RIP Lynn Redgrave :(

  • So long Georgy Girl :(

  • If every film was timeless, then there would be little nostalgia for anything. Georgy Girl is one of those films that quite happily became dated almost as soon as it was released.

It is still no less important as a film depicting the pre-psychedelic pop culture of the 1960s. It is also a window into a world where there was more strictness on the status of single-parenthood.

  • Glad I got to see you in Noises Off; you were fantastic and will be missed.

  • ;-) xxx

  • Rest in peace great lady.

  • Thank you Ms. Redgrave and RIP. CA/Toronto

  • The movie world is sadden of the loss of one of the most beautifull actresses of all. Lynn Redgrave the sister of Vanessa Redgrave who will be remembered for her oscar-nominated roles in both Georgy Girl, and Gods & Monsters. as well as for her efforts on the stage and TV as well. Good-bye Lynn, we'll miss you so much. Lynn Redgrave 1943-2010 : ( ...

  • I so enjoyed the pleasure to drive Lynn here in New York some years ago and sit with her at dinner at Tavern On The Green. What a lovely, lovely person, I keep fond memories of that evening.

  • So this is where that awesome Seekers song came from!

RIP Lynn. Tell Natasha we love her.

  • I could have loved Lynn Redgrave, if I'd been born 15 years earlier. In a parallel universe.

    RIP LYnn.

  • RIP Lynn... Your kind hello will never be forgotten.

  • RIP dear Lynn Redgrave

  • Loved this talented actress!

  • RIP Lynn Redgrave. She was good on "House Calls," too.

  • RIP, Lynne

  • Just read that Lynn has died.

    What a sad day.

Nice to see others thinking of her and her family at this moment.

  • Lynn Redgrave RIP.

  • What a wonderful human being! Thank you, Ms. Redgrave for all you'd given us.

  • Lynn Redgrave (1943-2010)

  • Lynne Redgrave has passed away at the age of 63. We have lost a great actress.

  • RIP Lynn Redgrave

  • Her sister, Vanessa, was initially going to play this part.

  • the best, the original x

  • i met lynn redgrave a couple years ago in Kansas City a really friendly lady very nice i got 2 autographs.

  • 1960's at it's best. A small Country with Big films and the Best Actors.....fabulous!!!!

  • "Hey there, Georgy Girl" musical performance by THE SEEKERS

  • Why did you dub the pop charts version over the film version? I can hear the standard version anytime, but not the film version.

  • @juslookin3 Hi I noticed your comment. YOu can find a movie version of the song by sweetladytiger. It has the end film version and a live performance by the seekers. Thought you'd like to know;-)

  • Found it! That's what I was craving. And I'd never heard the ending version. Thanks so much, Scripworker!

  • @juslookin3 Yes, I thought I was going to hear the other lyrics and was very confused when I heard the standard version. I also wouldn't mind hearing the end sequence, where they sing, "You're rich, Georgy Girl."

  • i can name every car make in this short trailer film.

  • LYNN REDGRAVE and her sister VANESSA are Gorgeous!!

  • We're all a Georgy inside....

  • @extractdigit Yes, we are!!!

  • I remember the song. I was much much too young to have seen the movie when it first premiered.

  • Thanks, Channel Nine, for creating this memory for all of us.

  • I LOVE this movie!

Someone ought to put the entire thing up!

  • reminds me of watching telly with my mum and nain (i was 7or so) always remember this........now at 40 the words are very poingniant ....we all have a georgy in us... thanks for posting

  • I am very nostalgic right now. Who ever posted this video ( Thanks). I am 53 and remember the first time I heard it. It made me happy then and still does. Lynn Redgrave and James Mason were fantastic in it.

  • This song makes me so happy....

  • NOT FUNNY! so rude S.

  • This was a great movie.

  • There were some great films out of Britain in the 1960's: this one, "The Knack (and How to Get It)", "To Sir With Love", "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie", "Alfie" and quite a few more.

  • Me parece muy divertida esta pelicula (10/10).. amo las peliculas britanicas =)..

  • Alan Bates.....droooool.

  • Wow, a classic!

  • The Music is from The Seekers Single Version, Not the film Version, different Words?

  • How can lynn redgrave and the seekers receive such poor response? A realistic movie and a beautiful song!
