Ray is a career 39% 3pt shooter, Chris Mullin is a career 38% 3pt shooter & like Ray, has 6 seasons of AT LEAST 40% 3pt shooting. But unlike Ray, Mullin has 8 seasons of shooting AT LEAST 50% overall shooting and 2 seasons of AT LEAST 49% shooting.
I'd give the edge to Mullin "overall" as a shooter..

The degree of difficulty on the shots Kobe take and MAKE sometimes is just insane. Kobe knocks down jumpers with a hand in his face or right up in someone's grill. His creativity in using his footwork with his shots is just amazing.
Even Phil said himself that Kobe is more skilled. But maybe you're right, MJ is probably the better more efficient shooter.

We all have witnessed Kobe's ability to knock down extremely difficult shots in crunch time, crazy fadeaways, and amazing 3 point plays. Why is his FG% so low? Yes, Kobe shot selection is bad. Very bad compared to MJ's. Kobe takes WAY TOO MANY hard shots, misses some of them and makes some of them.
But putting FG% and shot selection aside, Kobe is definitely the better shooter.
