Voice aside, Mariah is an incredible song writer. shes written ALL of her material except for the covers/duets.. and thats only what we've seen. i imagine there are some incredible songs from each album, some that just didnt make the final cut, that were recorded and will someday be released. then theres songs shes written but couldnt record (ie "where are you christmas") as well as songs she written for other people (ie "i pray") so even if she had to sign each song onstage id still love her
regardless of what yall say, if u think of it, if she HAD lipped more in the beginning of her career, or took more breaks, or whatever, her voice would've EVENTUALLY ended up the way it does now. 1) She has nodules 2) u can't stop the voice from changing how it wants, some would've given up in her conditions, but she continued and change WITH her voice to fit her new music. at least she wasn't delusional. lighten up, gosh!
I mean what do people expect? Mariah can't hit those notes so effortlessly anymore, she can't run around the stage and sing as great anymore, and her voice isn't going to sound as full anymore. She's not going through vocal deterioration, she's going through what is called AGING.
Whats going on with Mariah is no different from what went on with Michael Jordan, Bret Favre, Randy Couture, Venis Williams, etc....God fixed it that way, so a new generation can replace them.

I think her voice has matured, and as you get older, your pitch does lower. She no way like how she used to be. I was not born when she was in her peak I'm 18 now and I learned to appreciated her style of music. The 3 divas voices changed. Mariah, Celine and Whitney most especially. They are old, of course it well get to the point where their voices will start weakening. But I don't care, I still love the 3 of them. Notice how no one revives their song, 'cause they can't sing it. They have a distinctive kind of voice. When you hear it, you know that it is Mariah, Celine or Whitney. No offense to the fans, but if I talk to Lady Gaga, or Katy Perry on the phone, i don't think I'd know that it is them.
I read somewhere that Mariah is really an alto and that she worked super hard to sing soprano. If this is true then that would be why her voice has changed so much and she cannot hit the high notes so easily. She is very accomplished and has great vocal technique, but she overworked herself.

if you listen to her talking voice, its deep because she is an alto, but she belts in a soprano range :(
2008 around the E=MC2 era was clearly her worst period vocally. However yet again it has improved and her performances over the Christmas period of 2010, and in fact during a lot of her pregnancy performances were pretty incredible. She was going none stop after Emancipation of Mimi and did the world tour and another album and I think thats what took it's toll on her voice in 2008!
However she is still incredibly gifted and can out sing nearly everyone still!

This video is filled with losts of false thhings, the fact is alot of her vocal change is due to well 1st of al her age, she's not in her 20s anymore, 20+ years later she's still displaying the same vocal range + some live and recorded (studio), 2nd she has a vocal "disease" called nodule which without rest can be vocally fatal, but even now she is still naturally way more talented than woman she's "competing" with half her age.
Nodules on the vocal folds cause them to note close completely, producing a huskier sound. It also makes it more difficult for singers to reach the top notes. Even if MC had the most perfect singing technique in the world, she over worked and it cost her.

in 1995 her voice had 90'sa the same technique, from there a hoarse voice was heard through the same thing but could not give the same notes when he sang the songs of the first albums, but the color of voice still has it, when using mixed voice is the same voice of the 90's , a shrill voice your whistle now is softer and has more mastery of speaking up and says fracas, which is not used to. She was over-worked by Sony in the beginning of her career. Churning out albums, promoting them, and going on massive tours. The smartest move, if she had made it, would have been not to do the "Butterfly Tour" in 98. 2005-2006 was a good year for her though, you can definitely see that rest helped her voice. Whoever said she has poor breathing technique is an idiot...you try to sing We Belong Together in the correct key and time with all the right notes, and see how "bad" her technique is.
Honestly who can sing nowadays? She has real talent and she will always be better than singers of today. Everyone says her voice is gone but she just needs rest because she been singing and constantly releasing albums and number 1's since 1989 non stop. MC used 2 be known for her incredible, awe-inspiring vocal runs! when was the last time u heard her do one of those runs live (having a tough time? the answer is 1998!) listen to her sing "vision of love" or "dreamlover" or "always be my baby" now (2000-2010) and hear how she totally doesnt do those runs anymore and if she does they sound mushy

I love that Mariah's critics are always people who have never been anywhere near success in the music industry. Failure makes them experts, right? No one can deny Mariah lost vocal quality as she aged, EVERYONE does. But the biggest change in her singing was she was finally able sing like she WANTED to, not what Sony told her to do. Give her a break, she can finally make the music she wants and sing how she wants, SO SORRY if you don't approve of it.

@MaxriahRivera 1.) It has deteriorated, though. Not to the extent of Whitney's, but "deteriorated" is an appropriate word to use. The voice deteriorates with use and time, it's not Mariah's fault (she sings for a living, and she's not 20 anymore).

all her life she sings her heart out, i am not surprised that her voice is a little bit weaker now, or lets say different, the music changed too, and also her singing was a kind of a sport achievement for a while, she was excellent for so long, a kind of a champion, so lets give her a brake. She has got vocally better from 2008 into 2009 with "I Want To Know What Love Is" then she went on tour in 2010, listen to her sing "My All" at one of her concerts, infact, listen to "Make It Happen" in 2010, she belts those E5s brilliantly.

I still think Mariah's vocal quality is the same, I just think through time her voice matured, her technique changed, and her vocals are no longer accustomed to upper register belting; they say you lose what you don't use and if you notice when singing live she has breathing problems and control issues but her tone is still spectacular. As a music student, I can say that her voice isn't deteriorated at all, she just needs re-coaching, just like athletes who keep practicing.
@JPhillippeMusic and as a professional and international singer that she is, don't you think she's already done the "re-coaching" part???! her voice is the way it is now and it represent all her life so i do think she's done everything she could to improve the quality of it. It works in studio, but in live it becomes a bit difficult dispite all the help she may get.
@PePinmySteP She's good in studio because she has takes....and can breathe, rest , and sing a song and perfect it over a long period of time. To me that means she has the quality vocals but just doesn't have the stamina and strength..theres exercises to gain that back who knows if she's had coaching throughout, I just hope after pregnancy and all her voice got the rest it deserved
@JPhillippeMusic While I appreciate your understanding of the voice, I do think you're missing an extremely important factor when evaluation Mariah's voice: her vocal nodules. As you may already know, nodules affect the voice massively and often restrict your breath control, hence why Mariah has had problems with this. Additionally, Mariah is a big fan of wine and champagne, which doesn't help her voice either. When she stopped drinking last year, her voice improved massively.
@BigBlyeEyes1234 Mariah can promote vocal nodules in any way she wants but until proven scientifically, then she could just be using it as an excuse. Nodules do not allow people to produce a steady sound...and it would affect her ability to even carry a note. For someone who "has had nodules since a child," the condition would get much worse through time and in 20 years she wouldn't have a voice. Unless Mariah is a phenomenon that deviates from the norm, i rest my case.
@BigBlyeEyes1234 And also alcohol damages the voice, and it is irreversible. If Mariah's voice improved it's because she rested. While stopping alcohol does take off pressure from the voice it causes long term damage.
@JPhillippeMusic Not necessarily. Mariah's never been an alcoholic so I doubt she's consumed enough alcohol to make an permanent damage. There are so many factors as to what could have caused Mariah's voice to 'deteriote'. I just think it's too much of a coincedence that as soon as she left Tommy and started 'partying', her voice gradually got worse.

Like I said, there are many factors as to why Mariah's voice has changed over the years, but the main ones are her nodules and alcohol intake. There's a strong correlation between her partying habits and her voice. A good amount of rest is also essential for Mariah.

If you thought the quality of her voice changed I have no respect for this video. You can say she lost control, she couldn't hit the notes as effortless, that she has breathing issues but she still has incredible resonance to her voice and amazing tone that stands among rest. "deteriorate" is SUCH a strong word. If she had come out at 19 with the voice she had during "emancipation," everyone would be talking about her having the "husky voice of a seasoned professional." so now that she's got one, we're saying her voice "deteriorated." Mariah's voice is like a fine wine. She has lost a lot over time but also gained, much more I'd say. It just shows how much we don't appreciate age and are obsessed with youth.
@chrisanthemum7 Wholeheartedly agree she lost alot of her vocal acrobatics which I wouldn't even called lost, just unheard, for soul, emotion, and versatility she uses other parts of her registers and textures nowadays she now belts directly into her high register in comparison to her past where she belted from her alto range up, her tessitura changed even though her technique is the same. i say that her voice matured. she now has a warmer timbre that was missing from her MOR work. Definitlely more emotion and feeling. Plus no one's voice stays the same for 20+ years of continuous singing.
I think that if Mariah's voice never deteriorated she would be considered the greatest female vocal singer ever. its hard not to look at her 1990-1996 years and not be amazed but then you look at her 2000-2008 years and you see her lip-synching her high notes more and more and you get dissapointed. 1997-1999 years were rlly good years not as great as the years before but she could still belt MOST of her high notes and she still had great vocal control.
@dafuture93 I think it is deteriorated... it's still great.. but with "deteriorated I mean, not as great as before" that means for me... her voice is still great but not as it used to be. and 1997 was on the biggest changes of the quality of her voice then she recovered part of the voice she lost... then 2004 she started again with a nice quality of voice and 2008 her voice was tired again. yeah 2000- 2010 she lipped the high notes (that's sad but I guess she doesnt want to overuse her voice)

(Idk if i can explain what i think... my english isn't god, but I'll try) Mariah's voice has deteriorated trought all these years.. her worst vocal years were 1997 and 2008 (the end of 2008, at the begining her voice was good not great but good) and I think she learned a leasson "TO NOT OVERUSE her voice" I think that's the reason why she sounds great sometimes (like BET 2005) i guess she won't be singing in all shows and concerts 100% live because she knows what can happen.
What happened to Mariah Carey is the same thing that happened to Diana Ross. Almost overnite, their voices changed to whispery, no belting power, struggling to hit and hold notes, quavery, etc. I'm not trying to say that Diana could do what Mariah did with runs, but Diana in the 70s was always strong, clear, and pitch-perfect. Then the 80s...ooops!

This video is hilarious. Why? Not because of the woman's undeniable vocal change, but because the editor of the video obviously is piecing together the worst post 1997 moments to push their agenda. On YT there are dozens of videos doing the exact opposite, splicing together the better performances to show how much of her voice is still intact. Mariah's voice isn't healthy sounding...like it used to be. It definitely seems like the last several years something serious is going on vocally with her. Christina Aguilera is starting to have similar problems.

After being a fan for over 13 years, here's what I have observed about Mariah's (recent) voice. When people say "she can still sing and hit high notes", that is somewhat true. She can belt and she can sometimes do high notes live. She can whisper and make it sound pretty. BUT when it comes to her just straight up singing, her voice sounds weak, shaky and most often out of breath. Could be due to her age. IDK. I know no one sounds the same forever.
I'm sure having a baby will help her because she definitely won't be doing a show for a while. Any voice needs rest, and Mariah's especially.
Think of when you go to a gig and you belt the words to the song yourself a long with the artist, when you come out of that gig you will find your voice sounds very hoarse and strained. Mariah has that happen all the time so it's not that she's lost her voice, it's that she doesn't give it time to rest.

I wouldn't say her voice is deteriorated, I would just say that Mariah and her voice are tired lol... It takes a lot out of a person to go and sing like that everyday while performing and running around a stage, a lot of people don't realize how much of a vocal workout that kind of singing can be... it's why singers today generally sing in lower keys then their originals, it's to help fight the signs of an exhausted voice...
she has been singing for 20 years not even counting when she probably was in talents shows and shit before she became famous and she can still sing voice changes over time especially in that long time frame and hundreds of concerts she is the epitome of talent, beauty,and greatness..this is a real artist

1. Stop saying deteriorated. The usage of that word is a bit overboard. Whitney Houston has a DETERIORATED voice, NOT Mariah.

3. I find your choice of performances to be quite funny. That 08 video could have EASILY been replaced with the LIVE performance of "I Stay In Love" @ The 08 AMA's.

i agree with the uploader by 97 it did start to go downhill from there. and the emancipation of mimi era was what finally did her voice in. recording the album,the tour then going back in the studio to record e=mc2 the strain was too much and took its toll. she can barely do her whistle note live without struggling. its evident in her live performance of i want to know what love is on the today show. she needs a year or two off. and get back on top. and put these hoes in there place

Voice aside, Mariah is an incredible song writer. shes written ALL of her material except for the covers/duets.. and thats only what we've seen. i imagine there are some incredible songs from each album, some that just didnt make the final cut, that were recorded and will someday be released. then theres songs shes written but couldnt record (ie "where are you christmas") as well as songs she written for other people (ie "i pray") so even if she had to sign each song onstage id still love her

regardless of what yall say, if u think of it, if she HAD lipped more in the beginning of her career, or took more breaks, or whatever, her voice would've EVENTUALLY ended up the way it does now. 1) She has nodules 2) u can't stop the voice from changing how it wants, some would've given up in her conditions, but she continued and change WITH her voice to fit her new music. at least she wasn't delusional. lighten up, gosh!

I mean what do people expect? Mariah can't hit those notes so effortlessly anymore, she can't run around the stage and sing as great anymore, and her voice isn't going to sound as full anymore. She's not going through vocal deterioration, she's going through what is called AGING.
Whats going on with Mariah is no different from what went on with Michael Jordan, Bret Favre, Randy Couture, Venis Williams, etc....God fixed it that way, so a new generation can replace them.

I think her voice has matured, and as you get older, your pitch does lower. She no way like how she used to be. I was not born when she was in her peak I'm 18 now and I learned to appreciated her style of music. The 3 divas voices changed. Mariah, Celine and Whitney most especially. They are old, of course it well get to the point where their voices will start weakening. But I don't care, I still love the 3 of them. Notice how no one revives their song, 'cause they can't sing it. They have a distinctive kind of voice. When you hear it, you know that it is Mariah, Celine or Whitney. No offense to the fans, but if I talk to Lady Gaga, or Katy Perry on the phone, i don't think I'd know that it is them.

I read somewhere that Mariah is really an alto and that she worked super hard to sing soprano. If this is true then that would be why her voice has changed so much and she cannot hit the high notes so easily. She is very accomplished and has great vocal technique, but she overworked herself.

2008 around the E=MC2 era was clearly her worst period vocally. However yet again it has improved and her performances over the Christmas period of 2010, and in fact during a lot of her pregnancy performances were pretty incredible. She was going none stop after Emancipation of Mimi and did the world tour and another album and I think thats what took it's toll on her voice in 2008!
However she is still incredibly gifted and can out sing nearly everyone still!

This video is filled with losts of false thhings, the fact is alot of her vocal change is due to well 1st of al her age, she's not in her 20s anymore, 20+ years later she's still displaying the same vocal range + some live and recorded (studio), 2nd she has a vocal "disease" called nodule which without rest can be vocally fatal, but even now she is still naturally way more talented than woman she's "competing" with half her age.

Nodules on the vocal folds cause them to note close completely, producing a huskier sound. It also makes it more difficult for singers to reach the top notes. Even if MC had the most perfect singing technique in the world, she over worked and it cost her.

She was over-worked by Sony in the beginning of her career. Churning out albums, promoting them, and going on massive tours. The smartest move, if she had made it, would have been not to do the "Butterfly Tour" in 98. 2005-2006 was a good year for her though, you can definitely see that rest helped her voice. Whoever said she has poor breathing technique is an idiot...you try to sing We Belong Together in the correct key and time with all the right notes, and see how "bad" her technique is.

But this pregnancy is the best thing that's ever happened to her vocals, she'll get the vocal rest that she's been needing since 2006 and hopefully when she comes back her vocals will be well rested, and voided of alcohol. and uncontrolled. ppl just look at her belting voice when they analyze her "vocal change" but you gotta look at the whole package. MC doesnt have great vocal control anymore, her vocal runs are sloppy, and her belts are often lipped. Even in the EOM era when she DID gain her belting voice back, it wasn't the smae because she didn't sing the same way anymore. just look at her mouth as she sings nowadays as she tightens her jaws and clasps her lips closely to reach certain notes, mushying it all

MC used 2 be known for her incredible, awe-inspiring vocal runs! when was the last time u heard her do one of those runs live (having a tough time? the answer is 1998!) listen to her sing "vision of love" or "dreamlover" or "always be my baby" now (2000-2010) and hear how she totally doesnt do those runs anymore and if she does they sound mushy

I love that Mariah's critics are always people who have never been anywhere near success in the music industry. Failure makes them experts, right? No one can deny Mariah lost vocal quality as she aged, EVERYONE does. But the biggest change in her singing was she was finally able sing like she WANTED to, not what Sony told her to do. I totally disagree with this whole video, I will admit 2008 was a tuff year for her, also 2002 but never did i ever think her amazing voice was gone, I do think it has matchured, but never even close being gone!!!! @MaxriahRivera 1.) It has deteriorated, though. Not to the extent of Whitney's, but "deteriorated" is an appropriate word to use. The voice deteriorates with use and time, it's not Mariah's fault (she sings for a living, and she's not 20 anymore).
2.) Try and stay focused on the actual topic.
3.) Completely agree. That was just mean, 2008 had some great moments.

We Belong Together at Live 8 in August 2005 was lipped. The final chorus is one of the many WBT pre-recordings she used during the songs promotion (she first used the pre-recording at the MTV Movie Awards 2005).
Anyway, nice video. The sudden change from 1996 to 1997 is really weird, it's like she woke up one morning with a completely different voice. 1997 - 1999 were the worst years in my opinion, she sounded really husky and very hoarse.

I still think Mariah's vocal quality is the same, I just think through time her voice matured, her technique changed, and her vocals are no longer accustomed to upper register belting; they say you lose what you don't use and if you notice when singing live she has breathing problems and control issues but her tone is still spectacular. As a music student, I can say that her voice isn't deteriorated at all, she just needs re-coaching, just like athletes who keep practicing.

It works in studio, but in live it becomes a bit difficult dispite all the help she may get.

@JPhillippeMusic While I appreciate your understanding of the voice, I do think you're missing an extremely important factor when evaluation Mariah's voice: her vocal nodules. As you may already know, nodules affect the voice massively and often restrict your breath control, hence why Mariah has had problems with this. @BigBlyeEyes1234 Mariah can promote vocal nodules in any way she wants but until proven scientifically, then she could just be using it as an excuse. Nodules do not allow people to produce a steady sound...and it would affect her ability to even carry a note. For someone who "has had nodules since a child," the condition would get much worse through time and in 20 years she wouldn't have a voice. Unless Mariah is a phenomenon that deviates from the norm, i rest my case.

@JPhillippeMusic Not necessarily. Mariah's never been an alcoholic so I doubt she's consumed enough alcohol to make an permanent damage. There are so many factors as to what could have caused Mariah's voice to 'deteriote'. I just think it's too much of a coincedence that as soon as she left Tommy and started 'partying', her voice gradually got worse.

He Drained her and exhausted her to the MAX...also lets not make assumptions on Mariah's alcohol consumption because we don't know. the only time I can say she was drunk in public was last year in that award ceremony and TRL.besides that we only see her sometimes with a bottle of wine in her hand. So yes alcohol can play a role, but there's age, overuse, nodules, weight

Like I said, there are many factors as to why Mariah's voice has changed over the years, but the main ones are her nodules and alcohol intake. There's a strong correlation between her partying habits and her voice. A good amount of rest is also essential for Mariah.

If you thought the quality of her voice changed I have no respect for this video. You can say she lost control, she couldn't hit the notes as effortless, that she has breathing issues but she still has incredible resonance to her voice and amazing tone that stands among rest. Her change wasn't for the worst necessarily and I think it was mostly change in technique. Nowadays she can still sing beautifully when rested her voice is just exhausted not deteriorated. "deteriorate" is SUCH a strong word. If she had come out at 19 with the voice she had during "emancipation," everyone would be talking about her having the "husky voice of a seasoned professional." so now that she's got one, we're saying her voice "deteriorated." Mariah's voice is like a fine wine. She has lost a lot over time but also gained, much more I'd say. It just shows how much we don't appreciate age and are obsessed with youth.

@chrisanthemum7 Wholeheartedly agree she lost alot of her vocal acrobatics which I wouldn't even called lost, just unheard, for soul, emotion, and versatility she uses other parts of her registers and textures nowadays she now belts directly into her high register in comparison to her past where she belted from her alto range up, her tessitura changed even though her technique is the same. I do agree she gained as well, and associate this so called "deterioration" to a change...

i say that her voice matured. she now has a warmer timbre that was missing from her MOR work. Definitlely more emotion and feeling. Plus no one's voice stays the same for 20+ years of continuous singing.

I think that if Mariah's voice never deteriorated she would be considered the greatest female vocal singer ever. its hard not to look at her 1990-1996 years and not be amazed but then you look at her 2000-2008 years and you see her lip-synching her high notes more and more and you get dissapointed. 1997-1999 years were rlly good years not as great as the years before but she could still belt MOST of her high notes and she still had great vocal control.

@dafuture93 I think it is deteriorated... it's still great.. but with "deteriorated I mean, not as great as before" that means for me... her voice is still great but not as it used to be. and 1997 was on the biggest changes of the quality of her voice then she recovered part of the voice she lost... then 2004 she started again with a nice quality of voice and 2008 her voice was tired again. yeah 2000- 2010 she lipped the high notes (that's sad but I guess she doesnt want to overuse her voice)

I think... (Idk if i can explain what i think... my english isn't god, but I'll try) Mariah's voice has deteriorated trought all these years.. her worst vocal years were 1997 and 2008 (the end of 2008, at the begining her voice was good not great but good) and I think she learned a leasson "TO NOT OVERUSE her voice" I think that's the reason why she sounds great sometimes (like BET 2005) i guess she won't be singing in all shows and concerts 100% live because she knows what can happen.

What happened to Mariah Carey is the same thing that happened to Diana Ross. Almost overnite, their voices changed to whispery, no belting power, struggling to hit and hold notes, quavery, etc. I'm not trying to say that Diana could do what Mariah did with runs, but Diana in the 70s was always strong, clear, and pitch-perfect. Then the 80s...ooops!

This video is hilarious. Why? Not because of the woman's undeniable vocal change, but because the editor of the video obviously is piecing together the worst post 1997 moments to push their agenda. On YT there are dozens of videos doing the exact opposite, splicing together the better performances to show how much of her voice is still intact. It's very easy to try and fool people either way with clever editting. Don't be idiots people.

After being a fan for over 13 years, here's what I have observed about Mariah's (recent) voice. When people say "she can still sing and hit high notes", that is somewhat true. She can belt and she can sometimes do high notes live. She can whisper and make it sound pretty. BUT when it comes to her just straight up singing, her voice sounds weak, shaky and most often out of breath. Could be due to her age. IDK. I know no one sounds the same forever.

I'm sure having a baby will help her because she definitely won't be doing a show for a while. Any voice needs rest, and Mariah's especially.
Think of when you go to a gig and you belt the words to the song yourself a long with the artist, when you come out of that gig you will find your voice sounds very hoarse and strained. Mariah has that happen all the time so it's not that she's lost her voice, it's that she doesn't give it time to rest.

Besides, everyone got their bad hair day, i think you're somehow decieving people to believe that she can't sing anymore. Look at some of her recent performances in brazil, she performed my all even better than when she did in the butterfly era

in 1991 mariah had a peforance of emotion that she couldn't even hit a simple belt high note .. was a crap ... and on the future days we would had amazing performances .. look my saving grace .. fly like a bird ... that were amazing performances in the same level of her firsts .. so I think that it's a question of how much she rest and concentrate herself on the vocals

It's funny how he picked out back performances... however, her voice sounded amazing 09-2010... I also dont like how you keep comparing her voice to back when she was 26-27, that's so unfair to her. Furthermore, if you listen to live versions of It's a wrap, angels cry emotions from This year, you'd retract your statements. everyone has bad vocal days, and when your songs are as demanding as hers, you'd have some vocal issues some days too.

I wouldn't say her voice is deteriorated, I would just say that Mariah and her voice are tired lol... It takes a lot out of a person to go and sing like that everyday while performing and running around a stage, a lot of people don't realize how much of a vocal workout that kind of singing can be... it's why singers today generally sing in lower keys then their originals, it's to help fight the signs of an exhausted voice...

1. Stop saying deteriorated. The usage of that word is a bit overboard. Whitney Houston has a DETERIORATED voice, NOT Mariah.

i agree with the uploader by 97 it did start to go downhill from there. and the emancipation of mimi era was what finally did her voice in. recording the album,the tour then going back in the studio to record e=mc2 the strain was too much and took its toll. she can barely do her whistle note live without struggling. its evident in her live performance of i want to know what love is on the today show. she needs a year or two off. and get back on top. and put these hoes in there place

I like Christina and I give her the benifit of the dout for yearsshe got a impressive powerful chest register and faulsetto but her belts are thin and on top she struggles on those thin. Mimi is having some due to nodules over the year but her voice is better over 09 and 10.

it's so funny how these type of "through the years" voice comparisons for Mariah always devolve into what she was, what she lost and why she isn't shit anymore. However, the same type of vids for whitney, aretha, or some other diva always bendds over backwards to find the positive and justify. Don't know which is better. I honestly think that if Mariah really practiced and actually sang live more she could reclaim much of her power & esp her breath control, which to me is her biggest issue today
