it's an "ok" trailer... seems too long & needs to sell the idea a bit more. Of course, "Suspiria" is EPIC haha. I'd recommend to make it a bit more "today", 'cause it has a retro-feel to it. Not a bad thing, just makes it a bit slow and lacking of rhythm. I'll send you a trailer I did for my "editing class" for "Silent Night, Deadly Night 2". Feedback is appreciated. Otherwise, good job.
The art direction is great, but everything else about is terrible. The acting is wooden, the special effects are campy, and the plot didn't scare me at all.
At first I wrote it off to European filmmaking styles, but then I realized that Argento's films are hit or miss. Either you love them or you hate them.
i've always wondered this about suspiria... was mark a witch as well? olga said he didn't have any money and had to run errands for the teachers, but i've always wondered if he was the one who killed sara with the razor? anyone know?
Its amazing how long the "who or what killed Pat and her g/f" debate went on till Argento confimed it wasnt the witch but a lower level demon they summoned
Great way to sum up the story. Some people may find it boring to watch the whole movie, but the atmosphere was the point, not the gore (although there's enough of that).
KICK ASS DUDE ! bad ass i loved it you did a good job i love how this movie gives me that creepy feel inside i love it when a movie like this can bring on the fear and you really feel it i did with this film hell yea but loved what ya did great vid keep up the good work
No, actually the witch in Suspiria is indeed named Mater Suspiriorum. Mater Lachrymarum is featured briefly in Inferno (the lady with the cat in Mark's music class) and she is the main witch in Mother of Tears.
Dear DiscoStorm, "Suspiria" is called in this way because in the movie we can linsten some sighs, and the witch's name is Mater Suspiriorum (Mother of Sighs).
i like the trailer although you can see the amateurish side of the film you made it convincing and execution is very satisfying. The sounds were also perfect.
This is for a class? I hope you got an A+ because this is well done! I just stumbled upon this video looking for classic horror. Great job on your work :-)
The great thing about Susperia and Inferno both is that every time I watch them, I catch something I missed before. Or, I see them just a little differently. They really are works that have withstood the test of time and deserve the term "classic". Good work, I enjoyed this!
I seen this movie at the drive-in theater in Montville CT. in the middle 70's!! This movie is a scary ass classic, the musical sound track was way ahead of its time too!! Usually all of our high school was there at the drive-in, in and out of cars....if you know what I mean!! That particular night everyone stayed in their cars, scared as shit to get out!!LOL!! Wouldn't even get out to get popcorn or to use the restrooms!! Scary-ass-shit!!! That old witch lady jacked me up for years to come!
I love this movie and your editing to make this video is first rate. However, I think it's kind of mislabeled as a trailer. Number one because of its length and number two because a lot of the surprises and sudden moments in the movie are revealed. I'm not being critical, I think this is an excellent recap but on that note it is more so a recap than a trailer. Excellent job otherwise.
This is pretty damn good. The U.S. trailer was corny, even being measured by the standards of it's time. Suspiria. God, I could loop the cab ride alone, and watch it for HOURS on end. Spoiling the murders does nothing to diminish the impact of this work of art. Like every Argento film, the murders are not the best scenes, IMO, but incidental to the whole. Il Maestro, indeed.
Hi Ryan! I just stumbled upon this...genius!!! I am tired of people saying that SUSPIRIA doesn't make sense. SUSPIRIA is *exactly* what relocating and starting at a new school/job feels like!!!
The video is a too bit long to be a "real" trailer. It should be to the point and leave the viewer with a good impression of the film. Your video does the second part of that excellently, but it needs to be more concise.
Secondly, the video gives away too much of the film (the dog attack, for example). It's okay to have some brutal cuts showing the violence and gore, but keep them very short and out of context to avoid spoiling the big set pieces. I know you gave a spoiler warning, but if this was shown in theaters, that would be self-defeating. Obviously it's not a real trailer, but it's otherwise so well done I'm judging it by the standards of a proper theatrical trailer.
very nice editing job. i tend to agree slightly with rpdgirl. the trailer is not a linear representation of the film, but it does give away some of the more shocking moments. again, no problem if this piece is meant to be a tribute, but might give away too much to be a trailer. if you shave off about 1:30 by limiting the exposure to the climaxes of the various murder scenes you'd have a great trailer.
awesome job. this is the best trailer I've seen so far, and it's not even an official one

I just watched part of this the other night on TCM, and I am not a horror fan, nor do I scare easily.
But my eyes were watering the whole time I watches & I had knots in my stomach.
I think this trailer is very well done, spoilers or not. I can really see the work that would go into putting something like this together.

yu gave away all the shocks of the movie. Trailers hsould get you to watch a film, not be a synopsis.
If you haven't seen this classic, don't watch this video. If you're a fan, it's a cool flashback for ya.
