It's too bad 'Ryche wouldn't sell out like most of the other bands from their era... Then they would have gotten the respect they deserved... Has there ever been a better vocalist??? You'd have to look REALLY hard to find one and even HARDER to PROVE it... They sounded as good live as they did on their albums... How many other bands can say that??? 'RYCHE RULES!!!
Pound for pound I think Geoff sings better than Halford.I think people say Rob sings better because he is bigger. But geoff has more range more soul and more power..To me he is the best singer in the world
@Ameenahshouse really i love them all priest , maiden , queensryche , acdc , its all my music and each song has its own sound and meaning . im very happy to be my age and say that this is my music .
Great music from a great band. According to a bunch of girls I knew back in the day, they said Jeff looked alot like Michael Keaton. I do see a little resemblance.
Just like AFI so many people got into this band when they had a hit. As with both Bands I was living in the GREAT North West and saw Queensryche B4 99.9% of the world knew who they were. Back before the EP even launched. When it did, I had to have it. Fan from early eraly 80's...Same deal with AFI. Little punk band out of Ukiah CA. Saw em live and knew this band was going to blow up someday.
I saw them on the Building Empires tour, which this is from, And they still are the BEST sounding live band i have ever seen!!!! So loud, yet so clear. Great performance also.
I really need to see them play this song live. I actually saw Geoff Tate in a documentary called “Programming the Nation.” It’s a mind-blowing documentary about subliminal messaging and government conspiracy theories. bit. ly/pVmk9U
i love this band, but chris is such an awesome guitarist.. i deem he was the soul of the band and he also did wrote the majority of the songs.. too bad he decided to quit.. :/
But a no-talent daddy made pop tart like Rebecca Black singing the most annoying song ever written gets millions of hits! Life is unjust, just be glad we have the wisdom to appreciate real talent.
stop complaining about views on metal videos. wanna know why pop/rap and other stupid shit has more views? because their " fans " don't go out and buy their albums. theyre too busy updating their social networks. the other millions of views are listening to the cd. but im sure all of you got mindcrime on cd, vinyl or even cassette.
i got into queensryche at the time of the first "mindcrime" album. i devoured all their old stuff like it was going to be banned. they rocked my world for 5 years - thats all i listened to, practically, from 1988-1993. its great to hear this song and remember those days - this blaring from my headphones in the arcade or on the late subway train, hoping i wasnt going to get mugged.
@morenita2g wow, you've taken a poll from a black man that hates rock and a middle eastern man who has never heard rock. halford, dickinson and tate are 3 great singers from 3 great bands so there is really no winner
Geoff really sounds good in this video... minus the intro. Sometimes he tries to hard. This EP, and Warning, were their best work. Rage was pretty good, went downhill from there. Until finally, Silent Lucidity drove me away for good. LOL
@mberna1 ya, Silent Lucidity did it for me too, sad to say. and I tried really hard to give them a chance but I just couldn't stand it anymore. =( it was hard to say goodbye, but man, I still have all the old stuff and listen to it when I want to take a trip down memory lane !
@morenita2g I still believe that at least Dickinsion whom i have seen live can do that...along with halford as well...they have power too!And what about kiske?I understand that you like him that much adn all but ....he is really good but not the best in overall :) No hard feelings as long as we love his music anyway!! :) We just disagree!!! :)
@morenita2g seriously?dickinson,halfrod...many singers can do that...not taking credit from tate,he is one of the best out there,but.."they cant"?i dont think so buddy :)
@kristimetal10 This incredible performance comes from their 1992 "Building Empires" VHS tape which was the official video release that documented their BEST tour ever in support of EMPIRE! You can now get it on DVD. They were at the top of their craft during this tour. After this tour, Queensryche died a slow death - especially with the departure of co-founder Chris DeGarmo. They never could capture the magic that were Operation: Mindcrime and Empire.
This whole EP is f***ing mindblowing!! I love it!!! This is (I think) my first experience of Queensryche and I love it!!! I'm already hooked!!! \_/ (^o^) \_/
My cousin Jeff opened my eyes to Queensryche by takin me to the Empire tour my sophomore year in high school! I remember i was so psyched cause Suicidal Tendencies was the opening act! I cant remember the year but it was in good ol Lubbock,TX! Thanks CUZ!
@elphoenix23 I saw that tour in '91 (I was a junior in high school). I happen to think this was the best live version of this song I have heard. 'Ryche on!
its always been a question of who is the man, sebastian bach or geoff tate? im going with goeff, watch the video with him and lita ford singing close my eyes, way cool.
Geoff is a vocal GOD!!! I have met them many times and they are all so down to earth :) whoever decided to dislike ne thing by them is outta their minds!!
how does a band that sells millions of albums, goes on world wide tours for years only have 4744 views?but the CRAP thats out there today has millions of views.makes no sense to me.
@glynnracing79 its honeslty because of the corperate heads pushing what they think people should like on us through the radio and most just go with it like lil brainwashed punks that they are..
@glynnracing79 good point,i think they changed direction too much after empire as well as de garmo losing interest soon after. strange how things turn out considering how successfull mindcrime was.
Been listening to this since '84, I miss Chris DeGarmo, the band is still awesome but he should return =(, this appears to be from the Empire tour in '91, saw it in Chicago, they did some old school encores including this one and Road to Madness
@wikkedmelodies Yeah, great show. Saw it in Phoenix, 91 or 92. Been hard pressed to find a show this good since. Man, the whole show was spot-on. I don't think I picked out a missed note through the whole thing.

They should have disbanded after DeGarmo left.
