  • There is such emotion in this aria that it leads me to tears... the most sensible interpretation for me with M.Deller's one.

  • His voice brings me to tears.

  • Remarkable. Fantastic. Wonderful spead. Although I prefer Panajotis Iconomou. His trills are simply from somewhere else.

  • Was unfamiliar with this. An article in yesterday's WSJ brought this gentleman and the notion of 'countertenor' to my attention. Very interesting and beautiful.

  • littleasshole26, Andreas Scholl is quite obviously the counter tenor singing this piece. He is the finest counter tenor off all, in my opinion.

  • Excuse me...Who is Andreas Scholl? Can someone tell me?

  • @littleasshole26 The man singing.

  • @littleasshole26 Alto Countertenor (one of the best in the world, if not the best). He is singing this aria.

  • Dear Lord, thank you for putting Bach, Scholl and YouTube to this world.

  • master composer + genius musician = heaven to the heart and the ears!

  • Cette interprétation est tout simplement fabuleuse!

  • Dear God.

  • Dear God.

  • Andreas Scholl is simply not human. His voice is so remarkably pure. Once you hear his voice, you cannot listen to another counter tenor. This recording is one of my favourites.

  • Unbearably beautiful.

Thanks for uploading, Heraldius. Pity there are no details of the performers though :-(

  • I have 4 different recordings of Bah B minor Mass. But I must say that my heart belongs to Mr. Scholl's Agnus dei.

  • .....wow....! ! !
