@maxhampshire i want to know myself, i think hes sliding some object on the strings, i dont believe its an ebow because an ebow works best when near the pick ups, also hes moving it to different frets which leaves me to wonder how it would change the sound so much

I dunno for sure but i imagine it could just be a glass slide and the guitar is tuned so it plays a chord when played. Open something tuning? Basically 1 finger on 1 fret is a chorch cuz of the tuning and then you go from 1 to another chord by sliding up and down.. basic stuff but words are my mortal enemy.. hope it helps?

Really great. Some of the best lyrics Thurston has ever written. And when you think about it - lyrics are an afterthought in this band! The interplay between the guitars, bass and drums - has kept me a fan for the last 25 years.
