@jdlvtrn: She does live the good life! When we travel, she averages 8-10 miles of walking everyday, when we're home it's only about 2 miles a day. Her weight stays steady, but she sure looks large!!
@lovemybeau: I don't know if they are related. I've learned there are wild dogs like this throughout the world, all with different names because the genetic connection is just being studied. I also see the resemblance in appearance and behavior.
I know, they are so quirky and loveable! She brings me my boots when she wants a walk. We go to my friends farm and hunt the groundhogs that hurt his cattle. She is very good at it. Also me and her drive deer for my cousins when they hunt, only them though, cause they know if anything happened to her Id kill them! Shes my best friend
I a 4 yr old dingo this video made me cry for some reason. I love her so much and we always go hunting and swimming. Thank you for this video what song is this?
@danid781 The song is from 1972 called "The Happiest Girl in the Whole USA" by Donna Fargo. There is something special about these dogs that is only understood by people who live with them.
ThistleDewToo- I also have often wondered why they (the Aus) kill their Dingos then turn right around & blast US for bragging on ours! We (US) dont have hunts to try to eradicate them, we are proud of our history & want to preserve it! Science will soon prove the relation I think. A conservation biology student at univ ga southern told me yesterday that a new discovery regarding the connection between CD/AD's , AUS Dingo & NGSD HAS recently been made!
Tia doeasn't really love swimming, she's just sort of willing. Watching Cooter eat is quite interesting. He's using the unique molars to "saw" the bones, a trait common in all Dingo-Like dogs. Domestics would simply crush the bones with their flat molars. It's interesting proof of the connection between CD/AD's and other Dingo Types throughout the world. As you can see, I seem to attract a lot of skeptics. Cooter looks to be in great shape, the diet works!
Only the name comes from Australia. (See Below). Wild Dingo-type Canids have been in New Guinea for several hundred thousand years, the earliest evidence of them in North America is 15,000yrs old. The oldest evidence of them in Australia is less than 5,000yrs old, hardly a native species. Even Canaan Dogs in Israel share ancestory. I have been been following the latest scientific studies surrounding the origin of Canids. If Aussie's are so proud of their Dingoes, why do you murder them?
There is no such thing as an American Dingo, there is only one dingo. Just because the North Carolina dog shares a resemblance dosn't mean their dingoes. Does your dog howl? instead of bark, if thats false then it's not a dingo
Wow. The University of South Carolina has been conducting DNA studies that indicate otherwise. National Geographic Society has spent Millions to study canine origins, summarized in the show "Search for the First Dog." The UKC has recently added CD/Ad's to their breed list. Genetic and Fossil evidence places these wild canids throughout the world, especially in Malaysia, Thailand, Phillipines, New Guinea, Israel, and North America. The word "Dingo" derives from Aborginese "dingu", meaning dog.
The song is from Donna Fargo, 1972, called the Happiest Girl in the Whole USA. You have good eyes, too. Tia is not Australian Dingo, she's American Dingo, also called Carolina Dog. Of course, her slightly oversized pie hole helps to make her legs look shorter!
Looks like this dingo look-a-like has has a little too much barbecue.

Pretty doggy. Is the Dingo related to the Korean Jindo? They look similar to me.

Great video! My CD/AD, Cooter, loves doing those things too- except the swimming. He will wade up to about his shoulders but hates to swim!
