John Piper - Christianity: It's Not About Sex

I think John made it quite clear what the Bible says about sex. However, we are equipped with lims that are suppose to be used to breed more people. It is nature. All the other species does it. Some species are polygamous, and others are monogamous. The human species are, by nature, polygamous but forced into monogamy through religion. That might be the root cause of the sexual sin?

One thing I really appreciate is a church worship-team comprised of older and mature Christians. I'm 18 and to me, having teens up there isn't bad, but there is something more sincere/inspiring/heartfelt (for lack of a better word) to see middle-aged folks worshiping Jesus with Passion!

I dunno, I guess that's a blanket-statement, but you get what I'm sayin', LOL. =)

That was not God's call. That was the decision made between your mom and dad. But if you invite God to do so, he will be your mother and your father. Also, he will bring a natural mother into your life that will nurture you and love on you.

John Piper makes an absolutely brilliant point, that for some reason seems to go above the head of many pastors and most church people. That's the point of this clip not the length of dresses or whether or not worship leaders should wear robes!!

You may want to consider the level of legalism that you are insisting on when you demand that someone where a robe to sing. They're quite uncomfortable and not everyone has your same feelings of modesty. What a young lady where's to church is her choice because as C.S. Lewis observed the Bible doesn't change but social norms of modesty do. It may simply be that the cute one sings better than the fat ugly ones. As for undulating I sure thats as blown out of proportion as everything else you say.

We are bombarded with sexual imagery 24/7 in this country. Church should be a refuge from sexual marketing. Instead, we always have the ubiquitous female form, undulating, selling what have you. In Piper's case, he uses them to sell "Jesus". And at Bethlehem Baptist, they don't use a hymnal, so you are forced, if you want to participate, to gaze up at the sales-pussy. Sorry to be blunt, but I speak for millions of men who are to wimpy to speak the truth about their sexuality.

Mysogyny? NO way. I just loathe and detest that women are exploited at every turn based on a perverted view of sexuality. In terms of Piper's church, I simply don't go to that church or any church that uses the stero-typical sexualized female form to sell their goods. Right now I attend an old style Baptist Church that has a song service led my one of the elders, a gentlemen in his 60's. And guess what? I can finally concentrate on Jesus Christ instead of the undulating girl.

I'm glad you have found a service that serves your critical demands that's what Jesus came to Earth for to make sure you are comfortable.
