my bulldog had the same thing. my vet said it's a food allergy and switched us to pure fish food: ocean-salmon, etc. no more grain, chicken, etc

My bulldog has the same thing on her side, (where the hair falls out) I was wondering if you knew what it is. I've taken my dog to the vet and They're not sure what it is.

They are hot spots. He typically got them during the summer months. He has grown out of them since this video was taken. I would put a little powder on them and try that - Gold Bond or Baby Powder. Just use a little to test it out. You could also take her to a special vet that specializes in allergies. Good luck!

My bulldog has the same problem and the vet recomended i have his thyroid tested if cortizone cream or powder doesnt resolve the issue. best of luck.

@fishlips5468 My Bulldog had the same thing. My vet recommended a couple of squirts of fish oil on her morning feeding. It was a special canine version. It worked great. Her hair loss is seasonal too. Not an issue in the winter for my dog

My bully does similar things when something is where she didn't expect it to be. I remember when she was a pup she didnt' like trash day cuz all of the sudden there were all these cans laying around that didn't belong and she doens't like things that don't belong. They r such clowns and it is so funny to see how much of the behaviors r breed related; such as the one bully going after the others leg just like mine does, freaking ankle biters.

They are the best little creatures and companions but they are very expensive and a ton of care. Just do your homework before getting a bully, they require much more responsibility than other dogs and typically have major health issues that cost significant amounts.

It's not just an English bulldog thing, it's an American Bulldog thing too.....my AB used to get totally bent out of shape whenever something new appeared in the house, regardless of how harmless it was. They are toooooo funny!

I totally agree. I have two bullies and this is how they act. One gets down to play and barks, the other one gets in their face like what are you barking at. But the way that bullie is acting is EXACTLY how my younger one acts towards my older one when she wants to play and he's ignoring her.

my bulldog has hair missing too like yours with a few patches but his is growing back slowly, my vet says it is a seasonal allergy? anyone else know?

You should take him to the vet ASAP. It's either an allergic reaction, or, if it's symmetrical on both sides, it's a thyroid condition. Thyroid meds are cheap and easy to administer but absolutely necessary if he's hypo-thyroid. Please get him checked. :-)

Both my bulldogs have the patch missing hair on the side as well. The vets can't figure it out. Does anyone know about this? It's not seasonal flank allopecia because they've had it for years. The skin is black there now.
