I love how that "feminist" claims that everyone is accepting unless they're "some right wing christian." The fact that even a young girl like that already discriminates against a large group of people (christians) and associates them with negative judgement shows the ill doing of American media. People think all Christians (and republicans) are these extremists that we see in the media. This type of profiling is just as discriminatory as men objectifying women. I blame society not the girl. Sad.
Babies not allowed to eat in public/that is inappropriate! We all eat in public and who would want to eat say a bathroom? Breast feeding vs bottle fed may equal socializing vs manipulation of objects. Breast feeding is much healthier, natural and less trouble :) Who knows we have two breast and, maybe we are missing some twins here too. Denied our birth rights sucks too. I breast fed my daughter until she was 2 1/2 and thought it would last until she was maybe 5 and always with discretion.
this is a perfectly normal thing in almost all other countries. and it's illegal in most places in the US to tell a woman not to breastfeed in public, so it shouldn't even be an issue.
as sexualized as breasts our in our culture, it makes it awkward and uncomfortable for most people. but it's a lot more common in cultures where other body parts are highly sexualized.
There were more men that were supportive of it than women (they must not have kids).People are entitled to their own opinions and so am I. I don't like to breast feeding in public but I do it when I have to, and I don't just hang out for all to see of course, but those that say its disgusting just seem ridiculous it is natural, its not like smoking in public, it won't give you cancer and no one is allergic to breast feeding. I don't know. . . I'm just saying. . .
I was really surprised by the number of people who were uncomfortable about the idea, even if they claimed to be accepting. I don't know what the situation is in the US but here in the UK it is actually illegal to ask a woman to stop breastfeeding her child in public, regardless of whether she is covered up or not, and the majority of people seem to accept is as natural and normal event! If people have a problem with it that is THEIR issue- feeding babies is what breasts are for!
Breasts are sexual when you're having sex. Hands are sexual when you're having sex. Breasts are tools when they're feeding a baby. Hands are tools when they're at work.
Some people can't figure out the different roles breasts have and can only see them as an erogenous zone regardless of their current function and therefore should not be exposed in public, ever, for any reason
breast feeding - i would probably never do it, bcs i'd be very embarrassed, but like a lot of people in this video said "you gotta do what you gotta do."
I breastfed in public but I also covered up I would never let my boob show for the world to see. All women should breastfeed it's the greatest bonding experience ever :)
I think it depends on location...let's face it some area's will handle it better than others. Like if your at Venice Beach go for it they don't care if your at a Concert Hall maybe not so much. Africa okay Saudi Arabia in public probably not.
I agree with those who say cover up and no problem. Covering up a little is respectful in a good way. I liked the feminist and every one else who spoke. the deer man was pretty colorful.
I have a question for all the moms. How do you choose who is a good safe person to talk to. And How do you teach safety around people to your children
@ocean3684 She's saying stupid stuff like "WOMENS RIGHTS, MEN SHOULDN'T OBJECTIFY WOMEN FOR PUBLIC BREAST FEEDING" When it's obvious all the men being interviewed are perfectly okay with it and very open minded to it.
i personally wouldn't ever breastfeed in public but i don't think its a problem if the women covers her breast because it is weird to have it out for ppl to see
I don't get it! Breastfeeding is a natural thing! Breastfeeding is something that has been around since creation, why are so many breastfeeding mothers subject to discrimination when it is a natural and healthy act! As a breastfeeding mother I have never been told to go else where to feed my child, but i have gotten the stares and the comments from people even when I cover up in public. I don't understand.. If people don't agree with it that is fine. Just don't look :)
Breastfeeding is Natural! Changing a diaper is natural too. If the place doesn't have a changing table then that's too bad. right?? right?? A woman in Utah got kicks out of a store from nursing without covering and she won her law suit because it's natural. But can ya'll talk about the pros and cons of having your second baby? We want another i just am young i'm 18 and I don't know what a good age is for my baby to have a sibling. Ya know, age differences, jealousy issues all that? Thanks (:
We were at pizza hut and this woman layed her month old child on the FOOD table right next to us to change her nappy. The toilets were 5 metres away....SERIOUSLY!
I love how that one girl who thought breastfeeding was gross said that if you need to change a diaper then just go ahead and do it so that they don't get diaper rash. So you can have poop and your baby's genitals out in public, but not an older, consenting adult trying to nourish her baby. If my baby needs changing then I might try to find a bathroom or a more secluded area, but if I can't find one then I would change them anywhere... and I see no problem breastfeeding anywhere, covered or not.
While I didn't feel comfortable nursing in public, I don't have a problem with it at all IF the woman is discreet and covers up. I had a friend who not only nursed in public, but would let her breasts just hang out in the air even when her baby unattached. As far as changing in public, when I had my first baby they were just barely starting to get changing stations in some bathrooms. Because there weren't very many, we had to get creative; it was one of the hardest things of taking baby out.
@LaikVictoria49 I know I can change people's mind because that's how you change the world. I'm glad you find social injustice hilarious. I do assume you know nothing because everything you have said here tells me that.
Breast feeding is natural and normal. There's nothing wrong with doing this anywhere. Although I do agree that most mothers would want to cover up a bit just out of courtesy or modesty. But even that shouldn't be strictly necessary.
i think this episode could have been better if they has asked mothers who look like they may have gone through the awkward situation or older people who may have contrasting opinions with the younger people they asked.
people who think that they have to take their kid to the bathroom to breastfeed seriously piss me off. Why should the baby have to eat in the bathroom? do you want to eat in the bathroom?
wow the immaturity of the answers about breastfeeding is really bothering, i think it is completly natural an would never ever judge a person on it..... wow!!!!!! i have such different views its very interesting hearing these views...
The weird thing is that it is women have the issue with breastfeeding, men seem not to have any issues. Girls need to man the fuck up and deal with the fact that it is natural and essential!
It ultimately is impossible for another person to offend you or to offend me. Indeed, believing that another person offended us is fundamentally false. To be offended is a choice we make; it is not a condition inflicted upon us by someone or something else. Therefore, if you are "offended" because I nurse my child in public, that is YOUR problem not MINE. I'm simply feeding my child and meeting her needs and don't give a rip about anyone elses opinion.
i think the only reason i would find breastfeeding in public to be awkward is because i have never had to do it, i understand that their baby is hungry so they have to feed them. all you have to do is avert your eyes, you dont have to look at them especially if you dont know them you shouldnt be looking anyway. there is nothing wrong with it. they can do what they want with their body, if they want to breastfeed all out in the open who cares, don't look!
@LaikVictoria49 Alright, sweetie, whether you think it's inappropriate or not doesn't matter, because the law is on the women's side. You only think it's inappropriate because you grew up in a society where breasts are overly sexualized and objectified. If we lived in a place where breasts were advertised as a way to feed babies and not a way to give guys erections, you would think it was "inappropriate" to wear low cut shirts.
@LaikVictoria49 Considering you have access to both a computer and internet, I can tell that you are not from a tribe where breastfeeding is the only option and formula marketing has changed your whole groups opinion on how to feed children. If every women breastfed their babies without a cover for all of your life and your mother's life and her mother's life, there would be nothing inappropriate because there would be nothing else.
@LaikVictoria49 And if by "If it offends someone, or makes someone uncomfortable, it is." That I could very easily say "Well, it doesn't offend me, so that means it isn't offensive"
@LaikVictoria49 That doesn't make sense. There are people in the world who think it's inappropriate/offensive for black kids and white kids to go to school, so that means we should stop it? No!
You can have your cover-up opinion, but the fact that you think OTHER women should cover is wrong. You don't have the right to tell other mothers to do that.
I am not starting an argument, I am simply educating you on breastfeeding since clearly you know nothing about it.
@LaikVictoria49 Actually, since my job is to help women breastfeed and my passion is being a lacavist, I can go on arguing about breastfeeding for days. Feel free to send me a message, and I can tell you all about breastfeeding and how wrong you are.
@LaikVictoria49 You can feel free to leave. All I hope is that, even though you refuse to see why you are wrong in this, that someone who reads this learns something.
@LaikVictoria49 There is such a thing. "I think black people are all horrible" is an opinion and is wrong. No woman takes off their shirt to breastfeed. Have you ever even seen a woman breastfeed?
@LaikVictoria49 Well, thank you. I'm glad you think I know everything about breastfeeding and I take that as a compliment. And I won't buzz off because breastfeeding women won't be safe from attacks until people like you are educated on the situation. I have not done anything other than respond to your comments.
@LaikVictoria49 Attacks? Yes. Women getting kicked out of restaurants, out of buses, banned from Facebook for posting pictures of them breastfeeding. Those are attacks. And I am as important as I think I am because I know I am important to my family. I may be behind a computer, but I haven't been a girl in many many years.
I'd actually be fine with a woman breastfeeding compared to a diaper being changed. I sat next to people at a restaurant and a MAN changed his kids disgusting dirty poopy diaper right there at the table and put the dirty diaper next to him and asked the waiter to throw it out!
It's only appropriate if the breast isn't showing. There are loads of covers specifically designed for breastfeeding. I know women complain about their babies not liking them, but not everything can go your way :)
@EllaKathryn Maybe you should take your own advice. There is more breast showing in the window of a Victoria's Secret than there is when a woman breastfeeds.
We have them for a reason! Our society has obviously been uneducated and hollywooded to death. Babies should be breastfed any where they happen to be, being discrete and modest is fine but having an all out aversion to breastfeeding is just naive.
I dont care what anyone says, I thinks it's gross. I went to the museum with my family one time and this lady didn't bother to cover up. She just let her breast hang out while she was getting situated and getting the baby ready.
@PaigeisRage That's the beauty of breastfeeding. It doesn't matter if you think it's gross since it is not against the law to breastfeed without a cover.
@pinkchick180 But she wasn't breastfeeding! She was getting situated for a few minutes with her breast just hanging out. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and everyone's opinion matter.
@PaigeisRage That sounds a bit unlikely, but if it were the case, then I would assume that she was new to breastfeeding since it is very hard to learn how to do it. Breastfeeding doesn't come naturally or easily to everyone and sometimes it doesn't go as planned.
Breasts aren't to look hot or for sex or for anything BUT BREASTFEEDING. They are literally designed for feeding babies. How can people be okay with 'motorboating' boobs or finding a clevage sexy when they aren't okay with the ACTUAL #1 USE OF THEM?
It doesn't matter if people think it's "appropriate or not" to breastfeed in public, because breastfeeding mothers are protected by law and are not required to cover up.
People are only truly offended by breastfeeding because they grew up with breasts being sexualized and objectified and can't wrap their heads around women using breasts for what they are made for, to feed a baby.
Remember, breast isn't best. Breast is normal and formula is worst.
@pinkchick180 It's not a matter of it being the law or not, the question was do people find it offensive or inappropriate. The law is there yes, but most women that I've personally encountered have said they actually Prefer to cover. Women who don't wish to cover are not forced to cover by any means, but if you're half naked (kid unlatches, kid refuses to latch etc) people will look; and more often than not thats when the issue happens. Moms get angry because people are looking.
@Ultimatedizzyness People only think it's weird to see a boob in that situation (whether the kid is breastfeeding 100% a-ok, or the mother is having some issues) because they don't see breasts in that light anymore. If we lived in a tribe where there was nothing else other than breasts feeding children, then there would be nothing else to compare it to, thus no one would find it weird.
@TH3b3st7 Actually no, I had chicken for dinner. I don't even know what "chripin" means so if you'd like to ask a real question or make a real statment, feel free so! :)
@pinkchick180 bullshit, if a woman flaps out her boob next to me when I dont even know her I WILL find it awkward. Has nothing do to with sexualizing stuff or any of that.
@mrmag1cc No one breastfeeding flaps out their boobs while getting ready to nurse. They simple get it out to feed a child. And it has everything to do with sexualization of the breast. Like I've said in other comments, if we lived somewhere where breasts only job was the feed children, and everyone around you fed their kids that way, you wouldn't feel weirded out about it, because there would be nothing to compare it too.
Where I'm from, a lot of places have a room that mother's can go into so she can breastfeed if she's embarrassed to do it in public. It's one big room, but it's not embarrassing since other mother's are doing the same exact thing.
@UHLYSS Well of course their only purpose is to feed babies, I was simply saying that in society, they are a viewed as a sexual part of the body. I didn't think that anyone disagreed with that, since public nudity isn't really disputed as unjust. By the way, you seem to think I'm a man, I'm not, lol. I don't get any sexual satisfaction out of seeing a fellow female's boobs, but that doesn't mean it doesn't make me uncomfortable to see them exposed in public.
Its amazing how most people freak out at one of the most natural and beautiful mother/child interactions, they need to realise that there is zero sexual connotation.
I love how that "feminist" claims that everyone is accepting unless they're "some right wing christian." The fact that even a young girl like that already discriminates against a large group of people (christians) and associates them with negative judgement shows the ill doing of American media. Look at it this way, a mom has her toddler (4 years old) and he's hungry, she'll stop by a hot dog stand and get him a hot dog, SAME EXACT THING.

I mean yeah it's natural, but they definitely would need to cover up. It would be totally inappropriate if they didn't.
LaikVictoria49 1 month ago
@LaikVictoria49 It actually is completely to breastfeed without a cover. It does not break any laws.
pinkchick180 1 month ago
@pinkchick180 Uhm, I never said it would be illegal. I said it would be inappropriate, which it most certainly would be. Get a dictionary, Hon.
LaikVictoria49 1 month ago

If every women breastfed their babies without a cover for all of your life and your mother's life and her mother's life, there would be nothing inappropriate because there would be nothing else.
pinkchick180 1 month ago

EllaKathryn 1 month ago
It's only appropriate if the breast isn't showing. There are loads of covers specifically designed for breastfeeding. I know women complain about their babies not liking them, but not everything can go your way :)
EllaKathryn 1 month ago
@EllaKathryn Maybe you should take your own advice. There is more breast showing in the window of a Victoria's Secret than there is when a woman breastfeeds.
pinkchick180 1 month ago
I think people should keep the breastfeeding in private, and for the men who are up for it, shut the f___ up pervs ;\

We have them for a reason! Our society has obviously been uneducated and hollywooded to death. Babies should be breastfed any where they happen to be, being discrete and modest is fine but having an all out aversion to breastfeeding is just naive.
mommamiainkona 1 month ago 24
I dont care what anyone says, I thinks it's gross. I went to the museum with my family one time and this lady didn't bother to cover up. She just let her breast hang out while she was getting situated and getting the baby ready.
PaigeisRage 1 month ago in playlist Moms on the Loose!
@PaigeisRage I agree. A cover is necessary.
EllaKathryn 1 month ago
@EllaKathryn Not at all necessary since covering up to breastfeed is not required by law.
pinkchick180 1 month ago
@PaigeisRage That's the beauty of breastfeeding. It doesn't matter if you think it's gross since it is not against the law to breastfeed without a cover.
pinkchick180 1 month ago
@pinkchick180 But she wasn't breastfeeding! She was getting situated for a few minutes with her breast just hanging out. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and everyone's opinion matter.
PaigeisRage 1 month ago
@PaigeisRage That sounds a bit unlikely, but if it were the case, then I would assume that she was new to breastfeeding since it is very hard to learn how to do it. Breastfeeding doesn't come naturally or easily to everyone and sometimes it doesn't go as planned.

Breasts aren't to look hot or for sex or for anything BUT BREASTFEEDING. They are literally designed for feeding babies. How can people be okay with 'motorboating' boobs or finding a clevage sexy when they aren't okay with the ACTUAL #1 USE OF THEM?

blackbeexx 1 month ago 3
The woman can cover up if that makes them more comfortable to breastfeed, but she doesn't need to do it.
pinkchick180 1 month ago
It doesn't matter if people think it's "appropriate or not" to breastfeed in public, because breastfeeding mothers are protected by law and are not required to cover up.
People are only truly offended by breastfeeding because they grew up with breasts being sexualized and objectified and can't wrap their heads around women using breasts for what they are made for, to feed a baby.
Remember, breast isn't best. Breast is normal and formula is worst.
pinkchick180 1 month ago 21
@pinkchick180 It's not a matter of it being the law or not, the question was do people find it offensive or inappropriate. The law is there yes, but most women that I've personally encountered have said they actually Prefer to cover. Women who don't wish to cover are not forced to cover by any means, but if you're half naked (kid unlatches, kid refuses to latch etc) people will look; and more often than not thats when the issue happens. Moms get angry because people are looking.
Ultimatedizzyness 1 month ago in playlist Uploaded videos 27
@Ultimatedizzyness People only think it's weird to see a boob in that situation (whether the kid is breastfeeding 100% a-ok, or the mother is having some issues) because they don't see breasts in that light anymore. If we lived in a tribe where there was nothing else other than breasts feeding children, then there would be nothing else to compare it to, thus no one would find it weird.

@pinkchick180 bullshit, if a woman flaps out her boob next to me when I dont even know her I WILL find it awkward. Has nothing do to with sexualizing stuff or any of that.
mrmag1cc 1 month ago in playlist Meer video's van TheMomsView
@mrmag1cc No one breastfeeding flaps out their boobs while getting ready to nurse. They simple get it out to feed a child. And it has everything to do with sexualization of the breast. Like I've said in other comments, if we lived somewhere where breasts only job was the feed children, and everyone around you fed their kids that way, you wouldn't feel weirded out about it, because there would be nothing to compare it too.

Where I'm from, a lot of places have a room that mother's can go into so she can breastfeed if she's embarrassed to do it in public. It's one big room, but it's not embarrassing since other mother's are doing the same exact thing.

babybluecebu 1 month ago
