brets promos are 5 stars before 1997 , in 1997 some boredom on his part was part of his gimmick, bret haters distort facts like every other wrestlers haters but the fact is bret is one of the most popular wrestlers of all times
Bret draws awesome cartoons of different wrestlers especially in his book.I'm guessing that is why he tittled his book,My Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling.Bret is awesome!!
Another misconception about Bret Hart is that HE never drew a dime as WWF champion, when in fact it was the industry as a whole that wasnt drawing a dime, with Hart being one of the few shining lights during the dark days of the WWF after Hogan left. It wasnt Bret that lacked drawing power, it was the writers and the dated storylines that kept wrestling in a slump. It was simply being in the wrong place at the right time.
I dont understand people's dislike for Bret Hart promos... his whole persona as The Hitman is to be calm, cool and collected which he portrays perfectly in his interviews. Other guys like Dean Malenko for example who have a similar no nonsense style just come off extremely boring and unbelievable because you know it's not how they really are. Bret Hart is himself in his promos.
@ColonyWarrior The greatest demonstration of Bret's amazing promo skills is the fact that he was the most hated heel in 1997, at least in the US. Not because he really believed anything that he said or portrayed, except maybe his hatred for Shawn, but because he was just that good. Stone Cold Steve Austin is someone I'm sure he respects quite a bit. People pretty much forgot the fact that his whole heel run in 1997 was something that he moreso engineered rather than was forced into.
@ColonyWarrior I agree. He comes across as a normal guy who seems to be himself. He isn't larger than life like Hulk or outlandishly flashy like Ric Flair.
bret was a hot lkn guy but always kinda short and a bit stubby
