  • One of the worst fucking presidents we ever had, a complete asshole. He was not very intelligent, domineering, and expanded the power of the federal government and the executive branch immensely, subverting the meaning of the Constitution in the process. Dumbass also dropped out of law school because he couldn't hack it.

  • @MaiLingDolly He did leave law school AFTER PASSING THE BAR. The point of law school is to ready you for that specific test. He also got his BA from Harvard in just 3 years. You know a couple of buzz words and think you know it all.

  • And plus half of you commenting on this probably never took your highschool U.S. History class and passed it. So you uneducated savages can read up before you start posting nonsense

  • First of all I would like to thank whoever put this video on Youtube. As I was scrolling through the comments I noticed many individuals bogging down THE best president this nation has ever known. If he had not been elected this country would probably be in worse shape than it is already. The programs he set up for your grandparents and relatives made them survive in one of the worst periods of American history. So to those calling him a "cripple/commie/bastard" can go to hell.

  • Commie Cripple. I want to go to his grave, excavate his coffin, get it out, open it, and piss on him.

  • wats the name of the song?

  • when he was giving his oath, how did Franklin Roosevelt remmeber the entire line ?!!! did he had a shit of paper he can read from or did he just memorised it by heart ?

  • Fuck FDR. He made it illegal for American citizens to own gold.

  • fdr rules, he's one of my favourite leaders ever.

expect someone with the same name as me to reply to this with a gay comment which has nothing to do with fdr.......

  • To All Saying Pres. Franklin Delano Roosevelt Was A "Lying Politician" consider this...

After He Was Carried To His Bed, After His Leg Braces Put On & Locked Into Place, After His Pants Were Put On By Shuffling Him Side To Side & Once The President Was Finally Dressed, He Was NOT a Helpless Man In A Wheel Chair, He Was A Leader!!

A Leader Of What Would Become THE MOST Significant War In History! A Leader That Guided OUR NATION, THE GREATEST GENERATION & THE WORLD TO ULTIMATE VICTORY!

  • Anyone who comments on this saying FDR was a bad president hates their country. End of story.

  • a grate man, and the best president

  • @tonihc19 Really? Grate? Seriously? LE SIGH!

  • @impronb great argument.....

  • 2:51 :)

  • One of the Best Presidents the U.S. had ever had.

  • @BlackRain105 Correction, BEST president the nation ever had, NO CONTEST!!!

  • @coolmzn226 None of us were even alive. I'm pretty sure were not all that old using the internet. I just wish we would focus more on what we have coming and who will be in the next election because unfortunately the only true power the public has right now is to educate themselves and vote right.

  • The nation probably never expected that they were to have one of the greatest Presidents they would ever have, for more than 12 years, when they listened to this on the radio or saw it on the streets...

  • 1933 i cant even imagine being there im only age : xx now

  • fdr is amazing i luv him

  • If I didn't know this speech was given in 1933, I would 100% think it was from today. Nearly word-for-word, FDR is describing the US in 2011.

  • Things like this inspired me to become a polisci major.

  • My grandmother was only 9 days away from her 1st birthday. I can actually picture my grandfather listening to this along with his parents. I can picture my great-grandmother and great-grandfather listening to this along with my great-grandmother's mother. She was a staunch Roosevelt supporter despite being a registered Republican.

  • He had so much class.

  • He was elected 4 times. He did not live through his 4th term.

  • The worst president is Bush NOT Roosevelt!

  • Comment removed

  • showed this to people who thought the first e was silent.

  • I like turtles.

  • Worst President Ever

He prolonged the recession by creating regulation which destroyed small businesses that could not afford that expense. He created jobs that were worthless which increased the price of everything else due to the fact that people who had worthless jobs were buying things that had worth. He raised minimum wage which increased the prices of goods again and destroyed small business that could not afford to pay that wage. The list goes on and on and on.

    watch?v=Ubmjc83yAtI

  • @RealityChecker77 Seriously? He was one of the best presidents this nation ever had.

I suppose your going to give me a list of how George Washington was a terrible president now. Have fun voting for Bachmann in the next election.

  • @theinsaneworld

    @NostalgicChannel

I gave you content as to why he is the worst and you gave me nothing. Stop mindlessly listening to authority figures.

  • @theinsaneworld actually his economic reforms didn't pull us out of the Depression. It was WWII. He had very good intentions. Without his Fair labor Standards Act, we wouldn't have minimum wage and children would still be working in factories. also, he did set a lot of good standards for banks and businesses to run by so that they did not become corrupt and overspeculate on stocks and buy on the margin which was what got us into that mess. but, he gave too much power to the gov. in the economy.

  • @300daysandnights Well this is half true. His economic reforms did indeed pull us out of depression in that unemployment went from 25% to 12% by the end of his first term which is why he won his second term so easily. In his second term he decided to run on balanced budgets by cutting spending instead of increasing it, which unemployment to stay stagnant at 12%. The war didn't start till his third term which called for the greatest amount of spending America has seen which pulled us back.

  • @Derekrife1 the war did increase spending but it created millions of jobs, turning us into a war machine. this greatly improves our economy. war is not a good thing but for america's economy, it usually is.

  • @300daysandnights Yeah, who cares how many people you invade and kill overseas. As long as Americuns hev jabs! Amirite?

  • @KingKhain Shut the hell up dipshit. I never said war was a good thing. I am merely saying that war and a good economy, in america, correlate. I'm not some redneck, cousin fucking, douchebag that doesn't see the destruction of war, so piss off.

  • @300daysandnights What about WWII pulled us out? It was the SPENDING on WWII.

  • @DominicNanni It was the jobs created by the war as well as the production.

  • @theinsaneworld ITS Buchanan and Buchanan was terrible president just Woodrow Wilson

  • @theinsaneworld - Commie Cripple Bastard

  • @theinsaneworld the greatest president of the 20th century

  • @RealityChecker77 if his policies were so bad why was he then elected 3 times?

  • @RealityChecker77 Repeating revisionist history doesn't make it true, as a matter of fact Roosevelt's plans worked with varying degrees of success. The GNP grew every year of his presidency up until 1938 when no New Deal legislation was passed and government spending was cut thereby causing a year long recession. Those are the facts.

  • @RealityChecker77 Small businesses were already wiped out by the bank crises and the Great Depression. Those "worthless" jobs actually provided a needed safety net for millions of people and gave them a sense of worth. My grandfather was part of the CCC for a few years and he always spoke fondly of it.

  • Some Americans are fucking retarded! FDR was without a doubt the greatest president you have had over the past 100 years or so.

  • @CapitalBhoy78

    You're right!

  • We need a leader like this now!

  • Agreed - the Soviet Union was ended by Mikhael Gorbachev

  • Englands glorios leader is ruining England.wow this is now

  • God, I love FDR.

  • When I was a little feller I heard my pa say Frank Roosevelt was a good prez. Wasn't he the guy that bombed China? I gets my presidents all screwed up and I don't remember too much bout em.

  • Globalists killed roosevelt!

  • look at all the idiots below me

  • Best U.S Democratic President ever, hands down

  • @sgt365 I'm a full blown Republican and i would say best President ever hands down!

  • 58 ppl are living in tent cities like many did back then......we are reliving history as we know it.

  • I can imagine my grandparents listening to this on the radio when they were small children.

  • @thenextrung - Grandpa was a commie sympathizer.

  • This should have been Herbert Hoover's second inauguration.

  • @thecocoabeans1 Amen. The booming 30's instead of the lousy 30's

  • what a liar (re: the oath)

  • burn in hell fdr

  • the amazing thing was how he hid his paralysis from the public to an extent that simply would not be possible today.

  • THIS is 'PURE' Vintage !!!!!!!

  • I can already hear the name calling coming from the progressives/socialists on its way. After all...that is the go to response.

  • FDR's policies eventually land a country in a situation much like that of present day....i dont know..SERBIA perhaps. Does anyone actually think that the model of social security enacted under fdr has ANYTHING to do with helping the population. Its just another form of taxation!! If not, IT WOULD BE SOLVENT. IT WAS ALL ABOUT BIGGER GOVERNMENT..JUST LIKE IT IS TODAY FROM THE LEFT. Same ol.

  • Sad sad day in history.....the man would go on to ruin the modern world.

  • Barrack Hussein Obama should really listen to this...

Obama's strategy: Give the crooks more money.

    God save America...

  • Wow, it's weird to see politicians who actually give a shit about anyone.

  • Wiener dogs in outer space

  • I'm interested to see what Inaugural Balls look like... 8:30 ET

  • "Washington is our ghetto, roosevelt our king; democracy is our motto, think what a war could bring; we throw our German names away, we are the kikes of U S A!; you are the goys folks, we are the boys folks, we're makin whoopee!"- Charlie and His Orchestra 1941

  • 56 people cheated through their History class... ^_^

...some of them probably work for our government... =-(

  • Keynesian Economics has never worked, don't believe me, look at the hellhole we're in now. We need to return to Mises' Economics where the Free Market reigns

  • @PUgrad05 Thank god I didn't go to PU between 01-05! I mean...I could've been brain-washed into thinking that I didn't live in a free-market society already! Phew!

  • @19DiesIrae87 ...They should call the "trickle-down theory" the "left over crumbs" theory...

  • One of the worst presidents in history.

    Totally controlled by the Jews.

  • @InferiorRaces2 Coming from the perspective of someone who goes by "InferiorRaces" for a YouTube alias...I'd say that you just validated him as the best president ever! XD

  • WHY HE HAD 4 MANDATS , MAYBE HE IS ONE OF THE BEST PRESIDENT IN THAT TIME BUT WHAT WILL BE IF HE DID NOT DIE , TRUMAN MAYBE NEVER BEEN A PRESIDENT , IS HE BETTER THEN TRUMAN? MAYBE HE WANT DROP BOMB ON HIROSHIMA WHO KNOWS? BUT WHAT WILL BE AFTER 1948 MAYBE HE DONT WANT BE A PRESIDENT AFTER 1948.

  • minute 11 and on sound all to familiar... interesting

  • I believe in an America where Whites should have seperate bathrooms than the negroes.

  • @DJSexLeopard I believe in an America where people this dumb need to be sterilized... Let's get some votes in... 19DiesIrae87 v. DJSexLeopard...Go!

  • Reagan doesn't have shit on FDR!!!

  • March, ahaha

  • holy shit what what he said can literally be applied to what happened during the 2008 financial crisis

  • And is still being allowed to happen. "Practices of the unscrupulous money-changers . . ."

  • @diulamabubu That would be because this was right after the great depression

  • this is cool

  • With out a question FDR is in the top 3 greatest Presidents of the United States Of America no one can denies that.

  • I think you all need to calm down and shut up

  • The 22nd Amendment!

  • The worst president ever. Japanese internment was the most outrageous violation in the history of the United States. Pointed guns in the internment camps when he clearly told the public that the camps were for the Japanese protection. What the fuck.

  • @aznbubba77 You say that the Japanese internment was "the most outrageous violation in the history of the United States." Really? The MOST outrageous? Tell me, what's your take on say, #1. Our treatment of the Native Americans, and #2. Human Slavery.... in the overall scheme of US History? Just curious.

  • @aznbubba77 The worst violation? It's a tough decision to make: a) Isolate individuals & temporarily disregard their freedom...or b) Risk 1/2 a million ticking time bombs at home that would explode & retaliate from all the prejudice-racism brought about by the kind of public that doesn't critically think about things...gee...

  • Anyone who wants to know what is really going on in the world needs to read The Protocols of the Elders of Zion for themselves, it explains everything. It was written in the 1800s at the latest and they have followed it to the letter.

  • After taking the oath of office, Roosevelt proceeded to deliver his 1,880-word, 7 minute-long inaugural address, best known for his famously pointed reference to "fear itself" in one of its first lines:

So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear... is fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.

  • 20:13 YouTube video: Newsreel footage of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's first inauguration on March 4, 1933.

  • Our very own jewish dictator....

  • @FreiTilsit Oh great...another Nazi... well you must be all pissy that Hitler lost...because if he'd won, you wouldn't be alive & then have to live through your pathetic existence... you poor little skinhead

  • @19DiesIrae87, murder any Palestinian babies today, hyman?

  • I can't imagine what would have happened to America if FDR didn't become president.

  • FDR was the man, best President ever!

  • Happy President's Day 2 U,

    America the BeautifuL ! !!

  • Banal truths, accepted by all. Yet no politician will ever be allowed to say any of that again, unless they want to be pilloried. What a system!

  • Stalin's friend who sold and betrayed Poland and other eastern European countries

  • Where did you get your quote "the modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercices in moral philosphy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness"?

I'm assuming you found it somewhere.

  • @Mascherina1964 Yes I did..... does it really matter?

  • "There must be an end to speculating with other people's money."

Youtubers, does this ring a bell with you? (Oh, my! Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose -- the more things change, the more they stay the same.)

  • This guy was a straight up socialist.

  • Good speech... Strangely people ony refrence the "fear" line. However there are a lot of good lines in this speech...

  • the greatest of all time

  • "There must be an end to speculation with other peoples money". Sorry FDR, investment banking got greedy with financial instruments (like derivatives) and messed up your dream. The intended use of financial instruments was distorted (as always people thinking of themselves first) from hedging yourself from losses on a poor harvest for example, into an almost fail-safe speculation machine. Better luck this time eh.

  • @petra678 And unfortunately it was under Clinton that that was allowed to start happening again.

  • @narishbeatle Yeah under a Republican controlled congress. Capitalism really needs to be curbed so that it can become a force for good again like back in the 1960s under the golden age where a more Keynesian approach was taken.

  • @petra678 Spoken like a true politician:...general, vague, and nice-sounding.

  • Stories spread about how once a weary FDR rolled back into his room after a particular grueling session with the Georgian tyrant to find his wife eating the enchilada of Stalin’s secretary! The groans of pleasure could be heard throughout their hotel. All poor old Franky could do was to retire to the balcony and forlornly gaze at his limp pecker; cursed to never have a fat because of his polio.

  • Why is there a sound of a heartbeat through the whole recording?

  • He was the last american president to take oath of office on March 4th (the original inauguration date).

  • @TheUncleHammer

That is very true. His second term began on Jan 20 1937,74 years ago today.

  • Dirty thirties...

  • This zombie cant throw a speech to save his own useless life.. He has 1 boring voice.. Why is this guy famous again?? Oh yea, his only famous because of Hitler and ww2.. Biggest over rated fake of the 19th century. This wheelchair bum broke so many international laws during ww2 its mindblowing.. Over 60 years of Hollywood Movies has turned this fruitcake into some "hero/legend" for the gullible american population.. Thats why you cant argue with Americans.. They live in a fantacy world. lol

  • @LootsEr your opinion is a sad opinion. you prefer a president of GWB's staus i would bet....

  • @LootsEr you stupid idiot he was one of the greatest presidents he did a lot for our country and you should honor him you worthless nub

  • @LootsEr america is the best country on this planet

  • @LootsEr.. Hey LootsEr...Tell me, who are your "heroes/legends"?

  • I like the passage that begins around 5:07--"... the rulers of the exchange of mankind's goods have failed through their own stubbornness and their own incompetence, have admitted their failure, and have abdicated ..." I can't imagine any politician nowadays sticking it to Wall Street that way (nor can I imagine that today's financiers and traders would have the decency even to admit failure and step down).

  • nobody in that video lives now. weird and scary.

  • @MrLopollo Not necessarily.... Those who were young here could be in their 80's...

  • LMFAO Enemy of Hitler

  • FDR is my favorite president without his leadership and the new deal the depression would of continued for a much longer length of time!

  • I absolutely love the hatred, despair, frustration felt by the enemies of Franklin Roosevelt. It was the only revenge an unemployed American could extract from a vicious system that nearly brought down a great nation. Now, go ahead and tell me FDR was a Stalinist agent and Eleanor was an extra terrestrial. I hate politicians; I admire FDR.

  • Statists are Corrupt!

REAL CHANGE is NOT POSSIBLE as long as the Fed, Fiat Debt-Curreny and Fractional Reserve Banking exists.

The Fed CORRUPTS statist politicians by giving them POWER to borrow, debase & spend to BUY “support” from Special Interest Groups, Too Big to Fail Corporations, the Military-Industrial Complex & Wall Street Cartel.

Central Banking = Political Bribery & Cronyism!

Watch: Money, Banking and the Federal Reserve" here on YouTube.

We must AUDIT then END THE FED.

  • I wonder if God helped him.

  • @AnotherCompartment God did helped him in times, when the need to resolve his country's depression, from the two wars he need to participate, in times when the world is about to be devoured by tyranny, in his lifetime of physical incapacity, and mental stress from the huge problems he needed to resolve during his presidency. God sure would have had a place for him in heaven when his time had come.

  • @omid11 jesus. flagged.

  • As a CAnadian, FDR did more for Canadian-American relations than almost any other President. He did the little things, which is why we love him. He visited our country, he met with our Prime Minister and was friends with him, he opened markets to us and we opened ours to him; this was a good President. And what a godly voice!

  • Well look at the Templars behind him. lol

  • You know what Gen. MacArthur said FDR don't you? "I never knew him to tell the truth when a lie suited him better". That said I lean hard right but respect FDR for his leadership abilities that are to me up there with Lincoln. I disagree with alot of his liberal agenda i.e. "court packing" etc. but cannot deny that he was and always will be a great American, "That Man".

  • You know what Gen. MacArthur said FDR don't you? "I never knew him to tell the truth when a lie suited him better". That said I lean hard right but respect FDR for his leadership abilities that are to me up there with Lincoln.

  • hi guys!! i got one question, why did FDR was allowed to be elected four times while today President can only serve 2 times!! when did the change occur??

  • @raoulhery right after his presidency congress made it law which is weird considering his success

  • @raoulhery In 1951 we amended the constitution for the 22nd time that said that no one can run hold office for more than 10 years.

  • @raoulhery After FDR died in 1945, term limits were set on the U.S. Presidency.

  • If everyone had voted McCain we wouldnt have half the problems we do today.

  • @DjRenRoXy777 yea right he was GWB with another name

  • @DjRenRoXy777 Look at McCain now. Flip flopping on everything to just get reelected. We need Presidents that stand with their values and the people!

  • "The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness."

  • @scottsway are you talking about the teabaggers.?

i can find me in such justification, your right.

actually i ask myself would miss palin know what "moral philosophy" is?

  • @scottsway Survival. I'm glad I resolved it for you in just a few seconds.

  • @scottsway "The modern liberal is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in general; that is, the search for an attitude of unsufferable self-righteousness."

  • Comment removed

  • @sporeapollo11 WEAK!!! "Conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives."

  • @scottsway Where did you get this from? Some study done by self important liberals? FDR didn't turn this country into some utopia.

  • @Johnnyqwest1 well I think the new deal was an important accomplishment which of course has been destroyed by the conservative movement the last 32 years.

  • @scottsway Are you quoting someone? If yes, who is it?

  • @Mascherina1964 in reference to what?
