One of the worst fucking presidents we ever had, a complete asshole. He was not very intelligent, domineering, and expanded the power of the federal government and the executive branch immensely, subverting the meaning of the Constitution in the process. @MaiLingDolly He did leave law school AFTER PASSING THE BAR. The point of law school is to ready you for that specific test. He also got his BA from Harvard in just 3 years. You know a couple of buzz words and think you know it all.
And plus half of you commenting on this probably never took your highschool U.S. History class and passed it. So you uneducated savages can read up before you start posting nonsense
First of all I would like to thank whoever put this video on Youtube. As I was scrolling through the comments I noticed many individuals bogging down THE best president this nation has ever known. If he had not been elected this country would probably be in worse shape than it is already. The programs he set up for your grandparents and relatives made them survive in one of the worst periods of American history. So to those calling him a "cripple/commie/bastard" can go to hell.
when he was giving his oath, how did Franklin Roosevelt remmeber the entire line ?!!! did he had a shit of paper he can read from or did he just memorised it by heart ?
To All Saying Pres. Franklin Delano Roosevelt Was A "Lying Politician" consider this...
After He Was Carried To His Bed, After His Leg Braces Put On & Locked Into Place, After His Pants Were Put On By Shuffling Him Side To Side & Once The President Was Finally Dressed, He Was NOT a Helpless Man In A Wheel Chair, He Was A Leader!!
A Leader Of What Would Become THE MOST Significant War In History! A Leader That Guided OUR NATION, THE GREATEST GENERATION & THE WORLD TO ULTIMATE VICTORY!
@coolmzn226 None of us were even alive. I'm pretty sure were not all that old using the internet. I just wish we would focus more on what we have coming and who will be in the next election because unfortunately the only true power the public has right now is to educate themselves and vote right.
The nation probably never expected that they were to have one of the greatest Presidents they would ever have, for more than 12 years, when they listened to this on the radio or saw it on the streets...
My grandmother was only 9 days away from her 1st birthday. I can actually picture my grandfather listening to this along with his parents. I can picture my great-grandmother and great-grandfather listening to this along with my great-grandmother's mother. She was a staunch Roosevelt supporter despite being a registered Republican.
The only reason people think FDR was a good president is because that is what kids are taught in school. It's taught in school because teachers are dependent on the state and therefore, want the kids to think that states are good.
He prolonged the recession by creating regulation which destroyed small businesses that could not afford that expense. He created jobs that were worthless which increased the price of everything else due to the fact that people who had worthless jobs were buying things that had worth. He raised minimum wage which increased the prices of goods again and destroyed small business that could not afford to pay that wage. The list goes on and on and on.
@theinsaneworld actually his economic reforms didn't pull us out of the Depression. It was WWII. He had very good intentions. Without his Fair labor Standards Act, we wouldn't have minimum wage and children would still be working in factories. also, he did set a lot of good standards for banks and businesses to run by so that they did not become corrupt and overspeculate on stocks and buy on the margin which was what got us into that mess. but, he gave too much power to the gov. in the economy.
@300daysandnights Well this is half true. His economic reforms did indeed pull us out of depression in that unemployment went from 25% to 12% by the end of his first term which is why he won his second term so easily. In his second term he decided to run on balanced budgets by cutting spending instead of increasing it, which unemployment to stay stagnant at 12%. The war didn't start till his third term which called for the greatest amount of spending America has seen which pulled us back.
@Derekrife1 the war did increase spending but it created millions of jobs, turning us into a war machine. this greatly improves our economy. war is not a good thing but for america's economy, it usually is.
@KingKhain Shut the hell up dipshit. I never said war was a good thing. I am merely saying that war and a good economy, in america, correlate. I'm not some redneck, cousin fucking, douchebag that doesn't see the destruction of war, so piss off.
@theinsaneworld fdr was the best he was hardly a socialist but he was our most progressive president.. to bad he cound not have been re elected 10 times
@roseselavyy "If his policies were so bad why was he then elected 3 times?"
Because he made people feel good. He was a soothing voice on the radio. He was a great speaker. He made people think they were getting out of the depression.
The fact is, though, he interned Japanese American citizens, grossly abused presidential powers, expanded the federal government to unprecedented levels, took further steps of getting off the gold standard, and, in fact, prolonged the great depression.
@RealityChecker77 Repeating revisionist history doesn't make it true, as a matter of fact Roosevelt's plans worked with varying degrees of success. The GNP grew every year of his presidency up until 1938 when no New Deal legislation was passed and government spending was cut thereby causing a year long recession. Those are the facts.
@RealityChecker77 Small businesses were already wiped out by the bank crises and the Great Depression. Those "worthless" jobs actually provided a needed safety net for millions of people and gave them a sense of worth. My grandfather was part of the CCC for a few years and he always spoke fondly of it.
When I was a little feller I heard my pa say Frank Roosevelt was a good prez. Wasn't he the guy that bombed China? I gets my presidents all screwed up and I don't remember too much bout em.
FDR's policies eventually land a country in a situation much like that of present day....i dont know..SERBIA perhaps. The worst president ever. Japanese internment was the most outrageous violation in the history of the United States. Pointed guns in the internment camps when he clearly told the public that the camps were for the Japanese protection. What the fuck.
@aznbubba77 You say that the Japanese internment was "the most outrageous violation in the history of the United States." Really? The MOST outrageous? Tell me, what's your take on say, #1. Our treatment of the Native Americans, and #2. Human Slavery.... in the overall scheme of US History? Just curious.
@aznbubba77 The worst violation? It's a tough decision to make: a) Isolate individuals & temporarily disregard their freedom...or b) Risk 1/2 a million ticking time bombs at home that would explode & retaliate from all the prejudice-racism brought about by the kind of public that doesn't critically think about things...gee...
Anyone who wants to know what is really going on in the world needs to read The Protocols of the Elders of Zion for themselves, it explains everything. It was written in the 1800s at the latest and they have followed it to the letter.
After taking the oath of office, Roosevelt proceeded to deliver his 1,880-word, 7 minute-long inaugural address, best known for his famously pointed reference to "fear itself" in one of its first lines:
So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear... is fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.
@FreiTilsit Oh great...another Nazi... well you must be all pissy that Hitler lost...because if he'd won, you wouldn't be alive & then have to live through your pathetic existence... you poor little skinhead
Where did you get your quote "the modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercices in moral philosphy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness"?
"There must be an end to speculation with other peoples money". Sorry FDR, investment banking got greedy with financial instruments (like derivatives) and messed up your dream. The intended use of financial instruments was distorted (as always people thinking of themselves first) from hedging yourself from losses on a poor harvest for example, into an almost fail-safe speculation machine. Better luck this time eh.
@narishbeatle Yeah under a Republican controlled congress. Capitalism really needs to be curbed so that it can become a force for good again like back in the 1960s under the golden age where a more Keynesian approach was taken.
Stories spread about how once a weary FDR rolled back into his room after a particular grueling session with the Georgian tyrant to find his wife eating the enchilada of Stalin’s secretary! The groans of pleasure could be heard throughout their hotel. All poor old Franky could do was to retire to the balcony and forlornly gaze at his limp pecker; cursed to never have a fat because of his polio.
This zombie cant throw a speech to save his own useless life.. He has 1 boring voice.. Why is this guy famous again?? Oh yea, his only famous because of Hitler and ww2.. Biggest over rated fake of the 19th century. This wheelchair bum broke so many international laws during ww2 its mindblowing.. Over 60 years of Hollywood Movies has turned this fruitcake into some "hero/legend" for the gullible american population.. Thats why you cant argue with Americans.. They live in a fantacy world. lol
I like the passage that begins around 5:07--"... the rulers of the exchange of mankind's goods have failed through their own stubbornness and their own incompetence, have admitted their failure, and have abdicated ..." I can't imagine any politician nowadays sticking it to Wall Street that way (nor can I imagine that today's financiers and traders would have the decency even to admit failure and step down).
I absolutely love the hatred, despair, frustration felt by the enemies of Franklin Roosevelt. It was the only revenge an unemployed American could extract from a vicious system that nearly brought down a great nation. Now, go ahead and tell me FDR was a Stalinist agent and Eleanor was an extra terrestrial. I hate politicians; I admire FDR.
REAL CHANGE is NOT POSSIBLE as long as the Fed, Fiat Debt-Curreny and Fractional Reserve Banking exists.
The Fed CORRUPTS statist politicians by giving them POWER to borrow, debase & spend to BUY “support” from Special Interest Groups, Too Big to Fail Corporations, the Military-Industrial Complex & Wall Street Cartel.
Central Banking = Political Bribery & Cronyism!
Watch: Money, Banking and the Federal Reserve" here on YouTube.
@AnotherCompartment God did helped him in times, when the need to resolve his country's depression, from the two wars he need to participate, in times when the world is about to be devoured by tyranny, in his lifetime of physical incapacity, and mental stress from the huge problems he needed to resolve during his presidency. God sure would have had a place for him in heaven when his time had come.
first of all that Britain could have had a compromise peace with Hitler in the summer of 1940 but for Churchill's wilful determination to carry on a war for his own purposes; and that secondly by carrying on that war Churchill sold out the British Empire -- lost the British Empire -- bankrupted it, and in particular delivered it into the hands of its greatest enemy which was in fact Franklin Roosevelt and the United States
Churchill wanted a legacy if he had realised how Britain would end up after the war he would have prefered a pact with Hitler. Stalin plunged half of Europe into the dark ages with his brand of communist crap. The US turned the rest of the world into a F'king Wall Mart! Thanks to their masters Israel and the Financiers. I'm so grateful to FDR and the USA.
As a CAnadian, FDR did more for Canadian-American relations than almost any other President. He did the little things, which is why we love him. He visited our country, he met with our Prime Minister and was friends with him, he opened markets to us and we opened ours to him; this was a good President. And what a godly voice!
You know what Gen. MacArthur said FDR don't you? "I never knew him to tell the truth when a lie suited him better". That said I lean hard right but respect FDR for his leadership abilities that are to me up there with Lincoln. I disagree with alot of his liberal agenda i.e. "court packing" etc. but cannot deny that he was and always will be a great American, "That Man".
You know what Gen. MacArthur said FDR don't you? "I never knew him to tell the truth when a lie suited him better". That said I lean hard right but respect FDR for his leadership abilities that are to me up there with Lincoln.
hi guys!! i got one question, why did FDR was allowed to be elected four times while today President can only serve 2 times!! when did the change occur??
"The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness."
@scottsway "The modern liberal is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in general; that is, the search for an attitude of unsufferable self-righteousness."
@Johnnyqwest1 well I think the new deal was an important accomplishment which of course has been destroyed by the conservative movement the last 32 years.

He magically appears right after the Fed screws the economy over and people have no choice but to be dependent on the Federal Government.

Where did you get your quote "the modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercices in moral philosphy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness"?
I'm assuming you found it somewhere.

@petra678 And unfortunately it was under Clinton that that was allowed to start happening again.

The new comment layout, fine with me.
But THIS, is just too much too take! The front page has completely lost it's organised, simple layout!
I don't know where you get your ideas, but I think I speak for a big part of the community when I say "YouTube, go F*ck yourself."

FDR is my favorite president without his leadership and the new deal the depression would of continued for a much longer length of time!
Rosgo66 1 year ago
I absolutely love the hatred, despair, frustration felt by the enemies of Franklin Roosevelt. It was the only revenge an unemployed American could extract from a vicious system that nearly brought down a great nation. Now, go ahead and tell me FDR was a Stalinist agent and Eleanor was an extra terrestrial. I hate politicians; I admire FDR.

Statists are Corrupt!
We must AUDIT then END THE FED.

I'm so grateful to FDR and the USA.
sidelock123 1 year ago
