Vi, I am proud of you and all of the WW II Wasps! I know of your struggle to receive just and well earned recognition for your comrades in arms. Vi Cowden is one of the un-sung heroes of World War II. Much more than the "softer, fairer, sex afraid to get her hair wet, she was a professional pilot trained to test, fly and deliver thousands of aircraft to combat pilots in World War II. I have no doubt she would have gone on to fly for 60 more years had she been afforded the opportunity. She is deservedly proud of her accomplishments and harbors no resentments at how the WASPS were discarded when no longer needed. Congratulations! Vi.
