I am a Republican. I voted for Bush twice.
I gave him his chance and he ravaged this country I love.
So I voted for Obama. If he screws up, I'll be out there campaigning for his opponent in 2012.
But I'm going to give him a chance to do his job first. Just like I did with Bush.

What is his "great record at the state level" besides getting funding for his "community organizer" cronies?
Being a smooth talker doesn't mean he would do well in a debate. In fact, it would probably mean he would quickly get frustrated because he's used to baffling listeners with bullshit.

Dispite Obama's rapid rise to the Presidential level, he managed to achieve a respectable record. However, whether or not Obama was successful at the state level is irrelevant, because he is now effecting change at the Presidential level. His first 6 months have been wildly productive. He passed the bail out plan, close down Gitmo, pulled all troops from Iraq cities and began repairing the internationally sullied image of the U.S. Agree with him or not, the man is clearly qualified to lead.

The bail out plan was already in progress;
he hasn't and won't close gitmo;
he hasn't and won't pull all troops from iraqi cities; the image of the U. S. is only "sullied" in the minds of lefty dupes and hypocrites.

Gitmo is not closed, but prisoners are being removed and even Fox is reporting that the U.S. forces are out of Iraq cities. If you dont think there is a lot of hate for America out there, you are being naive. Even if you disagree with his politics, calling him a Charlatan is a bit strong. How do you think he is trying to trick the American people?

Prisoners have been in the process of being removed from gitmo for years.
U. S. forces were going to leave Iraq cities eventually anyway.
Hatred for America comes from Islamists, Sociailsts, and various ignorant juvenile idiots, none of whom bear any credit for making the U. S. a powerful force in the world. He's a lot worse than just a Charlatan -he seems to have tricked you into thinking whatever happens is "change".

So, you are saying that Obama has done nothing at the state level (though he pushed through laws reducing taxes for the poor, videotaping police interrogations, limiting gifts from lobbyists and sponsoring over 800 other bills) and nothing at the Presidential level? Especially "limiting gifts from lobbyists" - hell, his very Presidency is a gift from lobbyists.

Obama's ridiculous debt accumulation, his efforts to hobble US medical care, his bogus carbon tax bullshit, and much of his foreign policy stupidity all look like he can't wait to turn the US into an assbackwards caricature of its former self.

I guess I can't argue with you about the debt accumulation. I think that the way this economic crisis is being dealt with it absolutely crazy and I think we are going to feel the repercussions for a long time. But I don't think that medical care is meant to hobble the US. On the contrary. It's criminal to have 50 million suffering due to medical care's exorbitant expense. The US can have social programs without being socialist.

Why else would the legislation outlaw private insurance?
The U. S. has made it about 250 years without this; it's no coincidence that a quisling, in the pockets of organizations who live off the gov't purse, is fast tracking it. Besides, 50 million are NOT suffering, and most of those not insured are recent immigrants or young folks who think they don't need it.
