Great movie, but this trailer is misleading because it just makes it look like a rehashing of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. It is, in fact, much more than that. If people say that the trailer is intentionally misleading, then it is intentionally trying to get people to not watch it.

Loved the way you twisted the trailer so as not to give away the main plot. Anyone who wants to see this movie thinking its just Bruce and Brad in a mental institution is really going to be in for a mind bending treat. Kind of reminds me of the way they did the trailer for Fight Club. Made it seem as though it was nothing more to it than a bunch of guys who like to street fight. Both of these movies blew my mind. Another movie that ranks up there also is Usual Suspects.

I can't believe some people didn't "get" this video artist's intent in making this "trailer". It's a brilliant way of overemphasizing what is easily the most popular segment of the movie (the insane asylum). Imagine if this had been the real trailer and all those crazy liberal sophists had shown up thinking this was an adventurous "Awakenings". Another YT trailer promotes the movie as a light romantic comedy -- imagine the disappointment (even though it *is* technically romantic and comedy)!

12 Monkeys is a superb movie about the battles of reality vs fantasy, struggles for freedom and clarity, potential doomsday scenario and a deep love for the world.

You either appreciate this film or you just dont get it. Believe me wen I say: this film is beautiful in many ways. Peace

@thasza - the original short isn't about being in a madhouse though, it's about a timeloop. The film here does preserve that in its entirity, the same concept literally frames this picture from start to finish.
