Kisah David Hartanto - akhirnya kekejaman Prof. Chan terungkap !!
Angel adalah mahasiswa kampus Nanyang Technological University , ia adalah angkatan terbaru dalam tahun ajaran baru. Siang itu ia sedang menikmati makan paginya di sekitar halaman kampus, seorang pria duduk disampingnya dengan tersenyum sambil menghapuskan keringatnya dengan handuk kecil yang ia ambil dari tas jinjingnya. Pria berkacamata itu tampak memperhatikan selembaran kertas yang berisikan beberapa catatan miliknya.
Pria itu begitu terburu-buru membaca kertas itu hingga berterbangan saat angin bertiup kencang, Angel melihat pria itu kewalahan dan mencoba membantu memunggut setiap lembaran ke sisi pria itu. Sambil tersenyum pria itu berkata " Terima kasih.."
" Sama-sama..! "
" Saya David.. Kamu mahasiswi baru disini ya?"
" Iya.. Kok tau? Saya Angel..!"
" Yup.. Tentu saja saya tau! Karena saya sudah menjelang semester akhir..!"
Mereka dua sahabat baru saling bertukar informasi tentang situs Facebook mereka, David harus berpamitan karena ia harus bertemu dengan Dosen pembimbingnya, Sedangkan Angel kembali ke kelasnya. Rika sahabat Angel menyambutnya dengan tersenyum, lalu Angel bercerita tentang pertemuannya dengan seorang seniornya di taman tadi, begitu terkejutnya Angel ketika tau bahwa pria itu adalah salah satu jawara Olimpiade pendidikan.
" Terang saja dia begitu yakin bahwa ia akan menciptakan sebuah penemuan besar ?" ujar Angel dalam hati.
Pertemuan itu tidak begitu saja berakhir, Angel dan David saling berkomunikasi via mesengger dan Facebook. David sosok yang supel, bersahabat dan kocak tapi ia terkadang bisa menjadi orang yang serius bila sedang mengerjakan sesuatu, begitulah kisah yang mengawali hubungan dekat keduanya.
Angel memang kuliah karena uang yang dimiliki ayahnya bukan karena kepintaran seperti David yang mendapatkan beasiswa karena kepintarannya.
Karena sering merasa kesulitan mengejar penjelasan dosennya, Angel sering bertanya kepada David yang selalu membantunya. Suatu malam Angel merasa kesulitan untuk mengerjakan tugas kuliahnya, ia mencoba menghubungi David tapi sayang pria itu tidak mengangkat teleponnya.
David berhasil membuat Angel menyelesaikan tugas-tugas kuliahnya, Angel menepati janji untuk meneraktir makan bakmi. Saat itu mereka sedang makan di restorant bakmi, " David, kita kan sudah dekat.. Saya masih penasaran dengan Proyek ambisius dalam skripsi kamu boleh saya tau?"
" Ok deh, saya kasih tau.. Jadi."
David bercerita bahwa ia sedang mencoba untuk meniliti bagaimana sebuah bloutooth bisa menghantarkan listrik bagi sekitarnya.
Penelitian ini sudah ia lakukan sejak awal semester enam lalu, kini tahap penilitiannya mencapai 70 %, ia yakin pada saat nanti penilitian ini bisa membuat semua orang merasa senang, selain membantu penghematan listrik, penemuan ini bisa membuat dirinya di akui sebagai peneliti. Angel begitu terkesima dengan kisah ambisius itu tapi ia masih bingung. Ia tidak mencoba bertanya banyak hal selain menunggu hasil penelitian sahabat baiknya itu.
David yang merasa penilitiannya adalah pertama dalam sejarah dunia, akhirnya terlena dengan kegiatannya di dalam kamar setiap harinya. Sejak enam bulan lalu pihak universitas sudah memperingatkan tentang pemberhentian beasiswanya, tapi ia hanya menganggap ancaman itu ringan karena yakin kelak pihak universitas akan menyesal melakukan tindakan itu bila penemuannya di akui, dan kenyataannya beasiswanya benar-benar dicabut.
Professor Chan adalah dosen pembimbing David yang sudah mengenal pria itu sejak lama, ia sadar David adalah murid pintar dan mempunyai masa depan yang baik disamping sifat kekanak-kanakannya. Suatu hari ketika ia sedang terduduk David datang padanya, bertanya tentang ide skripsi yang ia paparkan. Dengan santai sang Prof berkata, " Apakah kamu sedang bermimpi, bagaimana mungkin sebuah teknoloagi nirkabel dapat menghantarkan listrik.. Ada-ada saja, lebih baik kamu
" Kalau begitu tunjukkan pada saya permainan kamu!"
" Baik.. Kita lihat saja!"
David seolah tertantang oleh dosen pembimbingnya itu untuk membuktikan bahwa ia mampu menciptakan apa yang ia pikirkan, ia pun semakin mengorbankan waktunya untuk penelitian eksentriknya.
Sahabat-sahabat yang ia kenal mulai melihat David bagaikan seorang dukun rumahan yang membukat prakter dirumahnya untuk bicara hanya lewat laptopnya.
Angel yang setiap harinya mempunyai segudang pekerjaan rumah bahkan harus memaklumi keinginan David untuk tidak diganggu sementara ini.

" begitulah tulisan status David pada Facebooknya.
Dua minggu lamanya penelitian itu berlanjut hingga mengalami beberapa kegagalan, modal David pada saat itu hanya dua hendphonenya yang berbluetooth, Ia berharap penilitiannya berhasil dengan berbagai cara.
Suatu malam ketika ia mulai menyerah setelah mencoba beberapa kali,akhirnya penemuannya itu berhasil walau hanya sebatas lima menit lamanya, ia berteriak bahagia dan bertekad menunjukkan keberhasilannya pada sang dosen.
Paginya David benar-benar pergi menuju ruangan Prof. Chan.Mereka bicara dengan santai sembari David mulai memberikan praktek penelitiannya. Sang Prof yang awalnya cuek tiba-tiba nyaris menjatuhkan kacamatanya ketika melihat David berhasil membuktikan kata-katanya.
" Lihat Prof.. Saya buktikan bahwa saya bisa ..! "Prof terkagum-kagum dengan apa yang David tunjukkan

Pria itu tidak sadar sedang dimanfaatkan oleh sang Prof untuk menjadi saksi pada penelitian palsunya. Bahkan Sang Prof memberikan bantuan kepada Zhou untuk mengobati sang Ibu yang menghadapi operasi kanker.

Tentu saja saya akan membantu biaya pengobatan ibu kamu hingga sembuh.
" Terima kasih " Ucap Zhou yang begitu bahagia mendapatkan bantuan dari pria itu.
David berhasil menyempurnakan penilitiannya, ia sungguh tak kuasa menahan bahagia dengan apa yang ia temukan. Ia teringat pada Angel, ia pun mengajak gadis itu untuk bertemu merayakan kerberhasilannya. Tak tanggung-tanggung mereka makan di Restorant hotel yang mahal, Angel pun heran dengan undangan itu
angel terkejut, " Astaga!! David kamu berhasil..?"

Angel dan David menghabiskan malam indah itu dengan penuh antusias,ia tak pernah menyangka begitu hebatnya sang sahabat kekanak-kanakannya itu. Akhirnya mereka pulang, karena David besok akan membawakan hasil penelitiannya itu kepada sang Dosen, David begitu ingin menampar para atasan universitas yang memberhentikan beasiswanya dengan prestasinya.
Ketika David mengirimkan email kepada Dosennya untuk bertemu besok.
Keesokan paginya.Prof, Chan sudah mengingatkan David untuk membawa semua dokument proses
berjalannya penelitiannya dalam USB agar ia bisa meneliti langsung kelayakan penelitian David. Awalnya, David agak bingung tapi Prof menyakinkan bahwa ia hanya ingin mencoba dengan caranya agar penelitian David dianggap sah
Tanpa pikir panjang David membawa penelitian itu dalam bentuk USB segera ke kampus pagi sekali pukul 7 sesuai jadwal yang ditentukan Prof. Chan.
Sebelum berangkat David mengirimkan pesan kepada Angel untuk bertemu di kampus makan siang bersama. Saat pesan SMS itu masuk Angel masih tertidur, David pun berangkat sepagi mungkin menghadap sang Prof. Ketika tiba di lantai 4 sang Professor, David menemukan sang Prof sedang terduduk sehabis memotong apel.
Ketika David datang ia membuang sisa Apel itu ke keranjang sampah, dan menyimpan pisau itu ke saku bajunya.
David tak sadar sedang berada dalam jebakan sang Prof. Chan.Pria tua itu meminta David untuk sekali lagi mencontohkan hasil penilitiannya, setelah menyaksikan penelitian itu pria itu semakin yakin bahwa David benar-benar jenius. Ia meminta David untuk memberikan USB itu
lalu berkata dengan santai," David.. Apakah kamu yakin ini penilitian kamu?"
David menyaksikan sebuah klip kecil yang menunjukkan penelitian yang dilakukan seorang pria dan Prof mengatakan bahwa pria itu adalah Zhou yang sedang mendemokan hasil yang sama dengan David.
" Tidak mungkin. Prof. Bagaimana pria itu bisa melakukan hal yang sama dengan saya!"
Prof tersenyum sambil berkata." Kamu bukanlan seorang di dunia yang ini yang Jenius, masih banyak lagi..!" David terdiam mulai berpikir ada yang salah, ia yakin sang Professor melakukan tindakan licik.
" Tidak apa-apa , saya ingin dikembalikan saja..!"
" Tidak bisa, ini akan menjadi barang bukti bahwa kamu telah melakukan pelanggaran di kampus karena melakukan penjiplakan karya orang lain sebagai skripsi kamu!"
David mulai emosional.
" Silakan saja , saya tidak takut, saya akan buktikan bahwa itu tidak benar..!" ucap david sambil hendak keluar dari ruangan.
Cara professor dalam ancaman sepertinya salah , ia pun mendekati David sambil membujuk pria itu untuk tenang. Sembari menawarkan opsi lain berupa uang dalam jumlah yang banyak, David tetap pada pendiriannya bahwa ia adalah sang penemu pertama kali. Prof Chan yang emosional langsung menusukkan pisau itu ke bagian belakan badan david tapi hanya sebuah goresan kecil, David berteriak minta tolong.
Zhou yang akan memulai kerjanya hari ini berpikir untuk datang menemui Prof. Chan hari ini, ia mendengarkan suara teriakan dari arah pintu Prof Chan. David yang merasa terancam berusaha melawan dengan sekuat tenaga, tapi sebuah bilasan pisau di leher membuatnya langsung tersungkur tak sadarkan diri. Tapi David masih mampu berdiri dan meraih pintu dan membukanya, Zhou yang berada di depan pintu terkejut melihat adegan itu.
David yang mulai tak sadarkan diri mulai berlari tanpa arah dan akhirnya terjatuh dari balkom lantai empat dekat ruangan itu. Zhou begitu shock melihat kejadian itu, Prof. Chan yang melihat Zhou ada disana langsung menyuruh pria itu masuk ke ruangan.
" Kamu melihat semuanya?"
" Tidak saya tidak melihatnya.. !"
" Ingat.. Saya yang menyelamatkan nyawa ibu kamu, sebaiknya kamu tutup mulut.!"
Prof. Chan yang begitu panik mulai tenang dan berpikir sesuatu.

Zhou tidak punya pilihan selain melakukan perintah sang Prof Chan. Lalu pria itu menyuruh Zhou mencabut gagang pada pisau. Sebelumnya ia katakan bahwa ia akan membuat seolah-olah David bunuh diri dan tusukan pada dirinya hanya sebagai alibi,

Cara professor dalam ancaman sepertinya salah , ia pun mendekati David sambil membujuk pria itu untuk tenang. Sembari menawarkan opsi lain berupa uang dalam jumlah yang banyak, David tetap pada pendiriannya bahwa ia adalah sang penemu pertama kali. Prof Chan yang emosional langsung menusukkan pisau itu ke bagian belakan badan david tapi hanya sebuah goresan kecil, David berteriak minta tolong.

Zhou yang akan memulai kerjanya hari ini berpikir untuk datang menemui Prof. Chan hari ini, ia mendengarkan suara teriakan dari arah pintu Prof Chan. David yang merasa terancam berusaha melawan dengan sekuat tenaga, tapi sebuah bilasan pisau di leher membuatnya langsung tersungkur tak sadarkan diri. Tapi David masih mampu berdiri dan meraih pintu dan membukanya, Zhou yang berada di depan pintu terkejut melihat adegan itu.

David yang mulai tak sadarkan diri mulai berlari tanpa arah dan akhirnya terjatuh dari balkom lantai empat dekat ruangan itu. Zhou begitu shock melihat kejadian itu, Prof. Chan yang melihat Zhou ada disana langsung menyuruh pria itu masuk ke ruangan.
" Kamu melihat semuanya?"
" Tidak saya tidak melihatnya.. !"
" Ingat.. Saya yang menyelamatkan nyawa ibu kamu, sebaiknya kamu tutup mulut.!"
" Saya tidak akan katakan apapun..!"

Prof. Chan yang begitu panik mulai tenang dan berpikir sesuatu.

Zhou tidak punya pilihan selain melakukan perintah sang Prof Chan. Lalu pria itu menyuruh Zhou mencabut gagang pada pisau. Sebelumnya ia katakan bahwa ia akan membuat seolah-olah David bunuh diri dan tusukan pada dirinya hanya sebagai alibi,
