  • I was 16, they were shite. They looked like dated punks, they said and did nothing new, Frankie had done it all before 2 years previously. In 86 Hip Hop and the emerging house scene were the only creative areas in music.

That they chose to work with Pete Waterman in 88 rather than any of the up and coming young British electronic producers says everything you need to know.

  • @maettsook

    you should inform yourself better.

sss are the collaboration with Stock Aitken Waterman was forced.

The music of stock.a... w.. wanted was not what the sputnik.

on the cover of next lp was then protest "Sputnik Aitken Waterman".

that was ultimately the end of the band.

  • DISCIPLINA KIČME JE PRIJE NJIH KORISTILA ZE SEMPLOVE IZ FILMOVA!

  • This film tries to be negative about Sputnik but just makes the critics look like dicks. If they were so untalented why did they all go on to make music after Sputnik then? History will prove them right.

  • 0.22 brilliant !! and David Quantick mate were you ever a teenager?? you look like you've always worn that shirt and cords, you like real ale but with a top in it cos it's a bit too edgy straight up,however to your credit you listened to Flaunt It 45 times before you got sick of it.I've heard of Tony James Martin Degville and Magenta(legend)Divine who still wears Raybans.......mary ann hobbs..ha ha

  • People loved to slag them off, but forgot to mention that they actually liked them.

  • Dead Freddie loved them

  • hugely misunderstood band and concept

  • Tony James was in this band....love it.

  • the best thing about the internet is we no longer have all information from a few restricted channels telling us what we ought to think.. the great and good always telling us what's good taste.

  • couldnt see it in GDR...i ever was searching for somthing like that

  • "Honey, I make the Mona Lisa look like a number painting." Love it!

  • Lady Gaga will never be or sound THIS outrageous!

  • @Crijevo I agree!! I doubt her costumes look as CLOSE as SSS!!

  • yep i had the cassette of course

  • these guys were the next logical step for punk to go. too bad it never happened and we all fucking sold out. :(((

these guys changed my life. we need more of this!

  • Панки - ХОЙ!

  • @sergrey54 YUTR565E7I6556,56

  • The two presenters at 1:50 laughing... have they seen their jumpers?... And they dare to laugh. Hilarious!

  • Anne Diamond and Nick Owen of "Good Morning with Anne and Nick".

  • i love how the magenta? thing totally glosses over skinny puppy by lying "no one had really used samples of tv or movies before" total rubbish that is. good band, but hardly original to those in the know. they were "searching for members" in 1983, but the puppies already had thier first tape in 1982 .. eh, oh well enjoy the music i suppose

  • Rockets, sex, televisions, home computers, bmx bikes........? microwave popcorn, rubiks cubes...er...er...digital watches...er...flat pack furniture. Pure Spinal Tap. Genius.

  • Rockets, sex, televisions, home computers, bmx bikes ... hiring video nasties, it's about films like Bladerunner, Clockwork orange.

Mid-1980's, owning a VCR (Video Cassette Recorder/Player) th Fe size of a suitcase was the status symbol of the time. Once people had their own video player, they could watch all the films that they had never seen at the cinema, so the video rental market took off. For kids, owning a BMX bike was more important than a game console.

  • Yeah, they were the 80ies, indeed.

It all comes back in a couple of years, be shure.

The hair, the clothes, the music, the thinking.

    It was a great time.

  • The perfect comet of the '80

    (sorry for my english)

  • Okay. Sigue SIgue Sputnik is the best band ever. Too bad music totally flipped back and has no imagination. If this would have evolved into more.. !!

  • I did have a test today. That wasn't bullshit. It's on European socialism. I mean, really, what's the point? I'm not European, I don't plan on being European, so who gives a crap if they're socialist? They could be fascist anarchists - that still wouldn't change the fact that I don't own a car. Not that I condone fascism, or any ism for that matter. Isms in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an ism - he should believe in himself.

  • The look on her face at 1:46 is priceless ...

  • I'll give them the credit they deserve. I think they're brilliant. And if I hadn't been 8 at the time I would have totally tried to get some alone time with Yana Ya Ya.

  • they ended up in the well because music turned even worse than it had before and the sheep followed. the stuff they put out in a short time is STILL way beyond the crap being put out today. anybody who thought those guys couldn't play is an idiot!!! check out my sputnik vids on my page, someone has to give these guys the credit they deserve...

  • Sigue Sigue Sputnik is just so legendary. A great idea. A great concept of a band. Even today we want to know what Sigue Sigue Spunik is all about.
