  • this isn't the highwaymen.

  • Omg thts my name!!!!!

  • Vince Martin and The Tarriers originally recorded this in the fall of '56- then Eddie Fisher covered it {becoming a hit for him}, and The Highwaymen recorded this unique version in 1962.

  • i was born in feb. 1957. my mother and father wanted a boy. i was a real surprise and no name was chose for me. this song came on the radio and my mom said, that the name i am going to name my baby. so this is how i was named cindy lou. i never knew who sang it, i will guess it was eddie fisher. but the highwaymen version is absolutly beautiful.

  • Its a very nice song. I treasure it for my memories in the 50s and 60s.

  • love it!!!!

  • Fantastic!

  • This pretty song will gently rock your memory back to a simpler ,happy time in life.Take care ADonovan43

  • @jackieham008 I am like you! Oh that was so long ago but it is still refreshing compared to songs today. Gotta form another NEW HIGHWAYMEN like the original. Throw away those modern tech on instruments - just a guitar, bass, banjo and a bongo...and there we go!

  • What year this song come out and who was the artist?

  • We Miss The Highwaymen. I Listened to their music since I was at my teenage. Well,it was fifty years ago....

  • Superb!

  • MY NAME IS CINDY :)

  • A beautiful soft folk version.

  • my grandma wants this song for her upcoming 50th wedding anniversary cuz when they where driving from their honeymoon this song was on and said the first girl that they had they would name her cindy and so the second child was a girl named cindy.

  • I grew up on this song in the 50's. My mother played this song for me as my name is Cindy. It brings back great memories of that time. I grew up with Eddie Fisher singing it, but I like this version too......

  • the first H are always the First.

  • I like this version best, although the original is great too. Eddie Fisher does a pretty fair job too.

  • Great version; but I'm partial to the original by Vince Martin & The Tarriers.

BTW, The Tarriers and solo artist, Eddie Fisher had Top Ten hits with the song.

  • I remember the original artist (Vince Martin & The Tarriers) and I have the old album with the song, Cindy, Oh Cindy.

Still good memories even though I was a child of the 60s, I enjoyed the 50s too.

  • Haven't heard them for years. They were great.

  • Nice song !
