@warriorofhonor, I got up this morning and I put on my mma gloves. I remembered what this video said and I didn't end up with cut fingers. I could train for a while longer because I didnt experience pain.
HI Sihing, I trained with Sifu Hader. Do you find it is better to twist the hand horizontally when punching compared to keeping it as the wing chun punch hand position?
@iamleavingchina In my personal experience straight punching with the emphasis on the center knuckle is perfect for within arms reach or closer.Far over hands, and hooks turned over with the center knuckle are far better for distance fighting which you find in the second and third form.I broke my hand only once in 20 years of active bare knuckle punching, and have great experience to draw upon.Im very confident horizontal punching far, straight punching close.
Good stuff, i found the same thing and started training my punches like this, then watched a few UFC bouts and thought "aren't they breaking themselves with the swiping hook?" Good vid!
I am no expert by any means, but you would think this would be common sense to anyone once they hit the bag incorrectly even just one time. Unfortunately it seems that it is not. Good video.
@TheWhoDatWhoady Thanks for the comments.Your right it should be common sense, but its being somehow overlooked.watch the fight network banner, incredible how common the hand injury suspensions are given out.
Hehe, the first time I used MMA gloves I thought that the gloves were waay to small for me and I was always hurting my hand, but thanks to your video, I realized that it wasn't the size of the gloves that caused the pain, it was my incorrect punching because I am used to the bigger gloves that we use in my Muay thai class. I'm going to try this technique next time I do MMA. Thanks :)
@DanEraser Thats awesome!Listen we been using small gloves and or bare knuckle fighting when i was younger. It was open hand and modified punching with the center knuckle to avoid injury.

Might make a vid about axe kick? If you find it's useful in any way. Just curious what your views are on it.
