Actually, it is a running joke between Mariska Hargitay and the actress that plays Alexandra Cabot (Stephanie March) that they should be lovers on the show. Behind the scenes shots are hilarious with those two. Many of the characters have thrown hints at Olivia being a lesbian including Elliot. Most recently, Olivia's acquired son Calvin asked if Olivia and FBI agent Dana Lewis (Marcia Gay Harden) were girlfriends. That's why everyone thinks it. =]

It's like Mariska's first ep back after her maternity leave (if I'm not mistaken) it's called Infiltrated and i think it may be from season 8. It's an awesome episode. Hope that helps.
