  • Only things in life that a person can look forward to are ,Barbells and

Mopar most solid things there are.Amen

  • I suppose that's a Challenger R/T or Charger R/T as you see when at the front of the car

  • Yes I like it for a car for me to drive on the road. I like old (muscle) cars

  • sounded great to me, Hemi valve covers are nothing but echo chambers for mechanical valve trains anyway, fast idle at start was normal, typical of twin AFBs, every single Hemi i ever owned was a Cold Natured Beast at start up.

  • Sweet idle...

  • Beautiful sound just listen to that solid cam

  • Add a supercharger and go hunting Euro-trash...

  • you have awoken the sleeping monster! =)

  • Sure didn't sound like a MoPar starter......

  • dodge charger 1963??

  • haha mopar or nocar :)

  • VERY awesome. Thanks for posting. Screw the idiots that in spite and jealousy post otherwise.

  • Son, I know Mopar and you have a lifter tapping on that engine. Would love to hear it after you kick down the idle!

  • i love the charger

  • hmm a high performance lamborghini with 800hp and handles like a dream or an aging 1969 dodge charger hemi with 480hp and well dont handle, well at all..............im gonna take the hemi!!

  • Can you bottle up some of the exhaust and send it to me, I need a fix...lol. =3D

  • Excuse me while I wipe off the drooool...

  • to 812Mizata, Carbs are actually more efficient if properly maintained, the only real advantage to the type of fuel injection used on typical modern production cars is that they need less maintenance and they start more reliably in cold weather

  • YOU ARE ONE LUCKY DUDE!! I'VE DREAMED OF HAVING ONE OF THESE CARS ALL MY LIFE!!

  • lumpty lump! sweeeet music

  • I think it sounds great!

  • 1.55 to 2.25 talk about sweet soul music,......this is it. If you ever sat behind the wheel of one of these you would understand.

  • @68chargerlover Nice, a 572 Hemi, how's that puppy on the street? I know the 528 is surprisingly docile on the street with the setup I'm running, and normal throttle travel, but for normal driving I also pu er in as high a gear I can go without stalling the motor, so acceleration is minimum(relatively speaking, shit hits sixty in three seconds). But I bet that 572 sounds beast.

  • Well i cant reply because im on an iphone, and honestly i dont care what you have, its basically the same car, same engine, i just like how the 70 challenger looks better, yellow with black T-STRIPE, its an opinion thing

  • Love this sound, but i like the 426 hemi better in the 1970 challenger

  • @713slipkn0t713 Hell no, the 69 Charger is king of the muscle cars.... Ive got one with a 528 Stroker, started as a 440 block bored .40 over, with a 10.35:1 CR stroker kit, purchased from 440 source.com. and Machined edelbrock performer rpm heads, cam, Hedman elite headers, a six pack, flow machined to match the rest of the components 1500-6500 rpm powerband, cranks out 760 HP@ 6,100; 850 Ft/lbs@ 4,250, back through a beefed tremec 6spd to a dana 60 running 3.55 cogs.

  • @the934x4 I agree the charger is the king of all muscle cars, but I have the 68 charger. I have a 572 hemi. And still run pump gas

  • what mufflers are on it

  • You'll never hear this great idle coming out of these new Challengers!

  • Where do you buy the original Inland shifters from? I'm getting a blue 68 Hemi Charger but it doesn't have the correct shifter

  • @DRJIVAN You can check mopar.com maybe?

  • @ohblondi

They seem to do more modern stuff but I'll give it a go. Thanks

  • O My God!!! 1969 Charger R/T with almighty HEMI and 4-speed on the floor!!

This is exactly my dream car. I would kill for it!

    You must feel the happiness.:)

  • fukin sweet!!!!

  • delicious and Malicious

  • i remember letting my 77 malibu warming up in winter, dual exaust,my mom hollered at me..."eric!!! i thought you had new exaust on that!!!" i kicked it off high idle mom got even madder,LOL

  • Beautiful Hemi, I own one of my own also, just beautiful!

  • --)> That is a very nice ride hemidoug. What's the color-code on the tag?

  • how could anybody click the dis like button ? whats wrong with you people ? in the rear of the car , it sounded very nice to me !

  • and that kids, is how babies are made

  • Was that a Jersey plate I saw? Good to see muscle is still there

  • man that thing sounds sweet! i see you work very hard to keep all that rubber off the rear quarters haha

  • I can kill for that car

  • The 14 dislikes drive lame hybrids. Why are people questioning your idle? Its sounds prefect after it warms up, any lower and the oil pressure would be too low. Nice vid!!

  • fuck thats a clean engine

  • It doesn't idle too high. It was the fast idle solenoid keeping the RPMs up high when the engine is first turned on and cold. You people act like you've never had a car with a carburetor on it before.

  • @arizonaresident1

    LOL...most of them haven't.....

  • @hemidoug69 Nice ride!

The motor is stock , right?

  • @hemidoug69 you old guys and your carbs. :P this coming from a young guy with a mopar :P granted its a '95 ram truck but hey its a mopar. :P

  • @hemidoug69

    Because carbs are inefficient. (:

  • @hemidoug69 My car doesn't have a carb, but my dad's RV has a Chrysler 360 from the 70s. It sounds a lot like this, it lowers the RPMs after about a minute though. Carburetor engines sound so sexy. :)

  • @hemidoug69 And that is truly sad

  • @arizonaresident1 Let alone one with TWO large 4-barrel carburetors. 8 huge intake valves, a cam that holds the valves open a mile for about a week at a time.....

Fast idle when cold. Hmmmm....Here in Minnesota they ALL fast idle when cold, new, old or what have you.

  • @arizonaresident1 No carb experience and definitely no horespower experience. Go back to your lambo door civic's lads this shit will hurt you!!

  • @arizonaresident1

True, Hemi head engines suppose to be poor on the low RPM. But the sound is unique to those engines..Wonderfull car i wonder what that costs a car like that.

  • @arizonaresident1 I thought the idle was perfect when it had warmed up. Btw, I had a car with a boring fuel injection system... I sold that old sad piece of plastic long ago.

  • very nice, I have a 572 hemi in a 68 charger

  • @68chargerlover Why havent you uploaded any videos. Go! Go now and buy a video camera!!! NOWWWW!!!11!1!1!!!1111

  • @firebat42 I will, we are going to run it down the track next year, its already winter here.

  • omg you can actually hear it. unlike a prius. absolutely stunning car. we need a time machine to go back and cherish these beasts like they deserved to be.

  • My Dream...

  • sounds like its idling pretty high to me...

  • I came.

  • What is the "rod knocking" sound in part of it?

  • @jjw70455 Solid lifter out of adjustment....

  • @hemidoug69 Why I went to hydr. roller. Im a Mopar fanatic thru and thru, love yours man. 1 year off my dream car, 68.

  • @jjw70455 Hemi engines have alot of valvetrain noise in them anyway.

  • Gotta love that Hemi idle. Are the 426s hard to keep in tune with the dual quads?

  • Very nice. Sounds like it wants to take off at idle haha. 425hp?

  • Are you running dual quads on that?

  • The only sound sweeter is a Rolls-Royce Merlin (or a blown Deusenberg)

  • fuckin beast ass idle i swear, cant wait to put a big block in mine, sick ass car and engine by the way

  • Are you running a reproduction exhaust with the resonators? It sounds fantastic!!

  • fuckin hell whats your idle at? 1500?

  • that things idling super high

  • now thats how a car should sound fuck them imports American muscle all the way

  • 69 Charger gotta love it! Why did it not have the high torque starter sound that you normally hear with a dodge or is that normal for a hemi?

  • I never get tired of your video. I love the sound of your HEMI. Never get rid of her.

  • isto nao e um hemi mas sim e um dodge

  • my god that is just great!

  • what have you changed at 1:09 to change the idle sound of the engine? sorry but i´m not an expert :D

  • @Chiuas666 works with fast idle because engine is cold and choke is engaged (richer mixture and more open throttle), after it warms up choke butterfly opens fully and closes the throttle back to normal

  • i am no dodge fun but you have a very nice ride there with an awsome sound thanks for the vid

  • So this is what "badass" sounds like....

  • Sure is a sweet sound - better if you used an external professional microphone on the camera. I'd vote the second best sound to a Harley-Davidson bike at idle...

  • That coil on top of the intake reminds me of how often I had to tune my big block Road Runner. Loved doing it though.

  • screw this shit!! ride a bike!! JK hemi's rock.. literally

  • Well a Hemi at 7grand is a pretty sweet sound too :)

  • Sweet sounding engine, in a sweet looking car make for one awesome video!

  • that was Gods griatest creations a Mopar HEMI

  • New Jersey For the win, where in jersey is this bad boy sitting at?

  • And on the seventh day he rested from his work & went the drags in a Heniiiiiiiiiiiii

  • Is it supposed to idle that high in the beginning? It sounded a little fast.

  • mmmm chunky

  • Hi Doug, A beautiful car. Will you be at any North Jersey cruise nights? Would love to see your car.

  • you can literally hear it slurping the gas, but who cares, its worth the sound. that uneven clatter of the great 7 liter v8

  • i marry that big block

  • Yeah, sounds pretty much stock. (wink wink)

  • Beauty and Badassery all in one...awsome Charger man! I could listen to that all day. :)))

  • @jtarver65 dude im real sorry, i accidentally voted down. my hand slipped right.

i completely agree with your comment

  • @Dantheman13091996 No sweat bro. thnx :)

  • how do u afford a ride like that? amazing. i plan to keep my dads 04 ram 5.7L hemi which is newer but now if you want a hemi in a 2010 ram it needs to be ordered so im hoping when im 80 yrs old itl be worth 50k

  • bullit special

  • can't piss on what you can't catch

  • im in looooooove. beautiful sound.

  • SAWEEEEETTT!!!!

  • im hard

  • Perfect!....Nice loose solid lifter sound....pure music

  • dual 4's i presume im only 18 but ive built 3 hemi's i consider myself very lucky im actually in the process of buying a charger within the next month not a hemi though but it will be i just hope it sounds as great as yours

  • Yes it is!....But i'am also keen on italian V12!

  • @Reivax54 ,

A great orchestra is made of many different instruments my friend.thanks!

  • Damn that's sweet. I have a Hemi R/T in F8 green but a torque flite car. Hemi Charger, The best!

  • perfect car and license plate

  • Nice Engine, Perfect, i drive a 69 300 2 door with a 440 but your motor looks way bettter, good job!

  • @idkhaveaname1369 Thanks! Sounds like you have a nice ride too. I grew up with a 65 300 L in the family....My dad's car. I know just how nice those 300s are...

  • It's nice that you didn't flood the video with music ,like some of these jokers do

  • Yeah, Its got a HEMI! lol

  • Music to the ears! :-)

  • A hemi charger...don't get much sweeter than that.

  • Doesnt sound like a stock Chrysler starter.

  • that big and an engine you need a diff starter

  • i want more lumpiness, sorry to offend, but i do

  • @hathwit7 take a new look at the vid at 2:05 :)

  • HEMI!

  • was that a cold start up because it was rev probably past 2000rpm.

  • And God said let there be Hemi... then all was good.

  • @JeepMan19007 Remember that God is a MOPAR fan, in the bible it states that GOD came down in a FURY (Plymouth).

  • @JeepMan19007 Good? you mean fricken awesome

  • I dont care if that cars worth a million dollars, I would've done a nice juicy burnout in it!

  • The heck with global warming.. I would drive it!

  • Music....

Is it supposed to idle so fast? And them valves are loud as hell (but I've never heard an idling Hemi before, so maybe they're supposed to sound like that.) And is that a production cam, or does it have a bigger cam in it? Sounds real nice in any case!

  • @justforever96 its on high idle with the choke on, and yes its supposed to sound like that, it sounds super sexy

  • It sounds better idling slower...blupbadablupbadablupblapblup... So, by "supposed to sound like that", are you saying that it's the same as it sounded from the factory, or just that it ain't broke. Sure idles nice and lumpy; I just wondered whether you had changed the cam or the timing at all. Maybe I'll get my own someday; I've never had a car anywhere NEAR as cool as that. Good thing I'm not picky about what I drive.

  • I will never get to drive anything that cool either, unless the lottery comes through, lol. Sounds pretty close to stock to me though

  • mate it is the sweetest sound lol. love ya car

  • is she for sale?

  • Sure...isn't everything?

    150K...cash

  • gotta love a '69 Charger with a 426.

  • It's just too bad that Ford didn't release the SOHC 427 as a production road option.....Hemi lunch would have been served....Remember they outlawed the SOHC from NASCAR. Dodge knew they would have had their A** handed to them.....

  • Chrysler had a dual overhead cam Hemi in development. Fords advantage would not have lasted very long, not to mention Chrysler's dominance in the Aero war.

  • No argument with the Aero war. They (NASCAR) then outlawed the Superbirds didn't they? I know Ford was working on their own areo cars (Talledega, and the Cyclone)

  • No, they didn't outlaw them, but they did require a limit to the CID of the engine in the following years. I believe that the requirement was to de-stroke the Hemi to 300 some odd cubes. After 71 the Hemi went out of production so it was for a very short time (1 season I believe).

  • Interesting info. Thanks.

  • I sent you a PM on cardomain...Please look thanks

  • Look, I am a GM guy and even I can admit that the Hemi was a legendary motor. It would whip the shit out of damn near ANYTHING else on the street. The only stock GM motor I know of that could compete with it in 1969 (since that was when this car was built) was the L71 3x2 or the L89 427 Big Block Chevy. Blue Oval and Bowtie Boys had respect for this engine. Just give it the credit that it deserves people.....Nice car man. PERFECT from front to back. ^_^ Just subbed.

  • Thanks brother, I appreciate that! Aint nuttin wrong with a good runnin GMwe need something to play withLOL

  • @hemidoug69 LOL! Amen to that brother.

  • Once you tuned a Hemi they Ran really well and basically stomped on anything Detroit delivered. Now, To put a 440 Crank in a 400 and see what kind of "Stock" Magic that makes :P Sleeper stroker.

  • @jwdkse Frankly, If you Bought a Hemi powered Car you would just be Too Stupid to do Simple Engine Maintenance Such as, Tuning the Carb And Value Lash. Want Maintenance Free? Get an EconoBox And Stop Crying and leave The Hemi to a real man Who knows What a real car is.

  • @Mestoc Valve! Lash. lol.

  • actually it's because they were too fast. GO MOPAR!

  • No, its because they knew the hemi would be raced.

  • the rear stripe is right...not straight like most resprays or decals...nice hemi 69 charger...keep the angle on the rear;)

  • I get an orgasm!

  • Idle sounds like my old ex-wife's farts!

  • you know a 440 will tear a hemi a new ass right? hemi's are nice rare as shit and sound awsome but its not a street motor, it was built for racing and the maintenance on these damn things are like dealing with a woman

  • have a nice day tearing hemi's ass with 440 ^^

    wish you good luck!

  • i will bust it with my 340 in a quarter

  • Yup.. it's the solid lifters making the noise

  • i want your car :)

  • Your hearing the cam it's not knocking. You would not hear a knock anyway in a video

  • What you guys are hearing are solid flat tappet lifters.

  • Their really isnt anything like a 426 Hemi. They were the kings of the street and racing. And still are in drag racing today, even GM/Ford use them on there drag cars. Mopar built the best drive trains of all time, even the Nascar engine is based off of the Mopar 340 small block. The 426 Hemi today still will conquer nearly everything on the street. And with slight bolt ons will make over 700hp easy on stock block and internals.

  • put in very good words man i say the same thing to everyone the thing the gm is faster and i laugh in there face man i never knew nascar engines went off the 340

  • hell man i almost like the car better than the engine, i mean thats one bad asssss hemi but thats one slick 69' charger...and jeese look at that thing shake in the engine bay JUST at idle hahaha that in itself is amazing

  • Classic Mopar muscle. LOVE IT!

  • You hear a lifter out of adjustment.

  • Wow...My prick is getting hard...

  • Now thats a motor and car. Have you taken it to the track!!!!

  • Very nice car!!!

  • I made the mistake of standing behind my
