If parents practice the drill with thier kids on a regular basis using the alarm to activate the drill, the kids will learn to recognize the alarm in thier sleep. The other troubling thing is all the bedroom doors are open. Sleeping with the bedroom door closed is the best. Smoke is the number one killer in a house fire.

Those children would wake up if the smoke alarms sounded like the detectors from the
70's. Instead of a beep, beep, beep, those sounded a loud, continuous buzz.
