  • Charlie brown was funky in his own way. Same for busta

  • Busta traded his fans, HipHop people, for fake HipHop fans and people. Good for him and his bank account, not good for HipHop, the future of HipHop, or the human race in general ... parts of the problems, facing HipHop AND the human race, not the solution ...

HipHopPhilosophy do t co mmm Radio was here!

  • Busta is a long lost soul, not even a shadow of what it is that made him, and every great MC that ever lived, so great and legendary (LONS!), the FUNK! ... He is no-longer relative to HipHop music and culture, after LONS, because ever since the group broke up, he records 98% bubble-gum pop Rap music! Not even the best MC's can make fake HipHop, Rap music sound/feel like HipHop. The ONLY thing that makes a great MC relative to HipHop is their consistency, longevity and loyalty the FUNK, and fans.

  • Busta has pretty much every right too have a big ego. The nigga is top 10 Dead or alive.

  • he spoke the truth...niggaz are stupid to think they run shit without puttin down on the table...Busta i feel you my nigga..fuck the haters, they aint gettin money or pussy

  • Busta still have love for dinco and c brown he give them shout out on yo mtv rap c-brown was hating on busta real bad they was having so much fun and money busta had a kid at that time so he was working so hard for his kid busta was doin whateva it took to do for his kid his style was so huge that how nicki rah rah thing came from c brown was thinking at the time of the break up and spoke up and turn up

  • @bboyStuntZ

Busta ain't been five future classic HipHop albums deep or more. Only two. He quit on HipHop,. and started making only Rap music. He turned his back on HipHop and sold his soul to be a pop star. This is how ALL of his OG LONS fans feel! Bet!

  • @ACThePD lmao no one cares

  • There is always another side to a story. I'm glad he shed light on the background. I always knew something was wrong with the chemistry of Leaders of the New School.

  • i think they hated on busta cus he was starting to shine and they didnt see who he was and looked down on him...but if you got talent you have to show it ..so the group didnt work well together

  • Never knew all that stuff happened. But the way i look at it. In the Alphabet I comes before U. How can you leave an adult behind? They never made it because they were lazy. Dont see any problems with what Busta did. Seems like they wanted him to carry them all their life.

  • sooooooo....level 2 million

  • He can come off egotistical, but seems like he has no hard feelings. You can call it a diss, but every thing he says isn't meant to be taken offense. He's just telling his side of the story whether its a 100% accurate remains to be seen. I'd take a lot of points into account, obviously it will cause some commotion if one person is getting more publicity than others, because they all thought they were good enough, which isn't always based on popularity! In this case Busta is the successor.

  • It's kinda weak how niggaz will diss their own homies over some pusy. A man that let's his dick do the thinkin is a fool.

  • @RandomUsername010 you have to look at it like this... I risk my ass going to jail because I want to have money to drive a car and get women and sex and have fun so I risk my but. after I'm done getting the money I risk my ass for, my boys who stayed thier ass at home safe and sound want to give me orders to come get them and drive them around after it was ME and only ME who risked my ass for this. I agree with Busta, fuck them dudes.

share the risk then share the profit. if not? take a hike

  • So busta dissed his own boys for some head.....pathetic. Arab money HA!

  • thats sad....

  • I WISH BUSTA WOULD WEAR DASHIKI'S AGAIN AND DO WEIRD VIDEOS AGAIN..

  • busta my nigga he keeps shit real

  • @Richdavt Naw, tru dat, but I like most of his solo shit. Gimmicky?...Yeah... but I think that's just his style. But it don't take away from his mc'n. Much respect homie.

  • @thenewrapstyle WHAT? Man fuck naw. LISTEN TO BUS'S FLOW. Listen to the wordplay. Yall cats talkin that dumb shit bout Bus's flow obviously don't know about MC'n. & the industry DOES REWARD SKILL - Nas, Em, Jay-Z, Pac, Biggie, Mef, Redman, LL, Andre3000, Kurupt, Common, BUSTA...Some of the greatest lyricist of all time REWARDED & RESPECTED for their SKILL by ALL the hip hop industry (do some research.)...FACT.

  • @DarksideSlasher come on man be real, busta had some rhymes and can truly deliver when needed but in my opinion hes only done one classic solo album and thats the one he did with dre. His first solo was cool but had a bit of gimmicks still

  • @Richdavt his albums before the one with dre are far better

  • @cartoonworld1000 I respectfully disagree, his first one was good i give you that but the ones after that ive heard i can honestly say only mayb3 or 4 songs on each stood out for me, gimmicks or no gimmicks. The one with dre was pure fire from start to finish. like i said he has rhymes and could always flow but i didnt think thouse albums where consistent throughout. First one was good though although i havent heard it in at least five years

  • @Richdavt if you listen to When Disaster Strikes... you might know where I'm coming from, and as you said his first album The Coming was great too. I've listened to When Disaster Strikes (his 2nd album) like more than 17 times and I didn't skip any of the tracks they were pretty good. Also When Disaster Strikes is in the Top 100 hip hop/rap albums of all time.

  • @DarksideSlasher One opinion does not equal hip hop history, learn about it.

  • Yo buster your fuckin fraud Nigga your from UNIONDALE ....

  • Wow. - Why does that first story sound exactly like "Sob Story"?

  • There are two sides to every story and going to other interviews with Busta, he seems like a shifty character.

  • Busta Rhymes is a legend 8 classic albums

  • busta is a egotisical prick....

  • @paulspagetti and that's why he is where he's at, gotta be like that to go far

  • @paulspagetti

May be but he's right. I had both Leaders albums and I liked the other members, but I kept my ear opened for his part. He brought it 2000 percent better.

  • @paulspagetti smh

  • @paulspagetti yea i seen him once at his record release back when-

    he was full of himself;

  • @paulspagetti Hes also one of the few left in the game with the "Godfather" status

  • why does ego breaking up the group sound so unsurprising...isn't the majority of rap talking about yourself?

  • @odiggimus yeh but jeliously kicks in

  • @odiggimus back then it wasn't like that; people would rap, and the tracks would speak for themselves. There were self-inspired tracks back then, but it's easy to talk about yourself, and the challenge was to lyrically beat down the competition whereas now it's just a buncha people shittalking each other.

  • Bless up Flatbush Brooklyn my home

  • Last time I saw Charlie Brown in a magazine (because Busta was blowin up), nigga said he was learnin ninja shit... You know everytime he hears about a new Busta even to this day, nigga be like "fuck dat shit!" Then bouncin a bunch of fake ninja stars off the walls in his mommaz crib.

  • TO TELL YALL THE TRUTH BUS SHOULD HAVE BEEN WITH TRIBE THEY SOUNDED SO GOOD TOGETHER IT A SHAME

  • @MrMizz007 Thing is tho, Tip and Phife barely got along either. If Bus' was in the group it would have been a handicap match with Bus & Tip beatin' down on Phife,LOL. Or Bus just caught in-between the middle.

  • We need LONS back!!!

  • Busta lost his soul and went pop sellout style ... sacrificed all of his HipHop respect and potentially all-time legendary status to be a pop star, like LL, Cube and eventually Jay Z and Fat Joe ... among many others ... Former HipHop people who are almost 100% Rap and 0% HipHop today ...

  • @ACThePD Busta has nothing to prove. He's been there done that. Knows his history and if he wants to go a lil pop he can. Man has been in the game for over 20 years. The guy is eventually gonna get bored doin the same type of music. He gettin down wit some house dj's now. Ain't nuttin wrong wit that. He still has dope lyrics. He is also on the hustle. Times change. Not gonna lie I still miss the good old days. But not all rappers only like rap music.

  • in my opinion, dinco d was the cosistent one but busta was the star....charlie brown was by far the WEAK link of the group

  • Wow.. LONS had the potential to be the most influential group of all time and shxt.. but imagine if Busta was in tribe doe.. would have been some awkward shii.. I still love yall One Love!

  • @DicksAreSoDelicious you mean like I did your mom? Or like you did your little sister when she was a toddler? Which one? who are you? Do you know me faggot? You're funny huh. Grow up you fucken internet herb. Talking shit online is so AOL 1995. Talking gay shit online is so loserish. Nobody is laughing but you, you must feel really cool. That's why I don't comment on youtube. A buncha faggots reply that I wasn't even addressing.

  • he looks like 50 cent, what a sell out

  • It's not all about lyrics. With Busta, it's not so much the stuff he says as the way he says it.

  • Busta is one dope motherfucker.! ;)

  • Sounds like the SOBB Story. Similar shit happened with Ceelo and Big Gipp of Goodie MoB. A cat with the so-so skills can't except that he really ain't that hot pulls a shade tree, power move with an "exec type" . Simple equation here: Jealousy + Selfishness = Demise of ANY group. Sick! : (

  • Damn i didnt know Busta and Charlie was beefin like that! They cool now!

  • @jackdaman80 They'e not, avtually. Busta said he would do another LONS album without Charlie.

  • @exzotik81 Busta aint doing another LONS album, please believe that.. That time is over, there comes a time when seasons pass and the LONS season has loooonnnnggggg passed.. and thats really all i got to say about that.

  • Beautiful Story Busta. Beautiful.

  • believe me busta is real, down2 earth,&known in the hardest parts of da street from over 20-25 yrs ago. dis nigga more thug than u would believe.an if u caught him without cameras or your lawyer standing right there busta would rock like u would rock. peace

  • busta got on that devil shirt.

  • He had one of the most prolific lyrical styles in the early to late 90s but after that....naaahhhhhhh

  • @HDibbles How you gon diss BUSTA, a MC who rhymed wit JIGGA, and BIG!!!! Brotha a studid legend, one of the illez of all time. no matter what

  • @bbounce803 And Big Daddy Kane, and A Tribe Called Quest, and Brand Nubians and Ghost,Rae,Meth, and Redman, and LL, And DMX and Eminem, and etc....oh and got Stevie Wonder to sing a hook to a song!!!! Yeah thats legendary shit whether you like em or not

  • yo this bull crap where's the I WANNA RIGHT CHARLIE BROWNS ASS part all this stuff he saying to me is junk but hes a great rapper but yo just talk to much like put a sock in it

  • in many ways, it was really C.Brown's own doing that helped build Busta's career as a solo artist. Because even when Busta was making all these appearances, he still remained a member of Leaders, even as people were saying stuff like 'Busta needs to do a solo album'... and once Charlie caught feelings about it, causing the breakup, Busta was off and running... it is what it is.

  • Busta had all the areas covered... he could rhyme, he had the charisma, the star power, the creativity, the whole thing. Maybe on paper, C.Brown's shit or Dinco's shit was better, but Busta was the standout of the group. They all complimented each other's styles and whatnot, but when one person stands out, it's undeniable. And even with that, he wasn't the one who got the big head about it- Charlie couldn't deal with that shit, so his own ego caused the LONS breakup. Simple as that.

  • busta rhymes is a legend in the rap game

  • LOS broke up over a rental car!?...petty

  • sexy voice

  • lol

  • Peep , Beats by Wallace Green

    the Busta Bust

  • nice affliction shirt sell-out. auto tune ass dude reppin flatbush when youre from uniondale. you started out in the suburbs with color coordinated jump suits and choreographed dance moves and then you rep flat bush and talk about sellin crack. you inspire me and parts of your career i love but a lot of the time youre a clown.

  • nice affliction shirt sell-out

  • WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I remember the car from the rental car story. Mitsubishi Galant?

  • Okay fuckboys...If c-brown was betta than busta....my question is where the fuck is he!

  • LOL, he "rented" a car

  • Childish sellout ! Brown was much better than Busta

  • Comment removed

  • BUSTA RHYMES! MOTHERFUCKERS!

  • Never knew this... Im sure C Brown and Dinco got there version of things aswell..... Real shame though, one of the best groups of the 90s golden era...

  • busta is a living legend!! stop hating

  • Busta whats up with that fat ass stomaCH NIGGA

  • I understand what he's talking about.

Too many egos, too much bullshit! Too many heads that think they know when they don't know nothing and the inevitable happens.

In Bustas case, he got a little lucky even though he had skills.

Sad that he eventually sold out!

  • Leaders of the New School messed their own (C. Brown & Dinko) careers up . It is relevant today because Busta has been on his own and has prospered big time.

  • Leaders of the New School, could've been so much more famous, like close to wu-tang level, it's sad this happened to them! Busta was so much better than he is now, he's a sell out like snoop, even though i love snooopp...

  • There's NO WAY POSSIBLE that Dinco or Charlie could rap circles around Busta, thus the reason we haven't heard from neither since the LONS days,HANDS DOWN!!!!!!

  • LONS broke up before the first album came out??!?! what i dont believe it....why did they make a 2nd album? contractual??? busta is full of it. dinco rhymed circles around him....

  • busta is 1 of the greatest mcs 2 ever do it.

  • LONS fuzzled out when they shud have..Once Wu came on the scene the game changed

  • @seldomsceen LONS still made a big influence to hip hop later on.

  • the old busta was off the hook the new busta is wack

  • @Dabeat19 He's not whack he's just old. What do you expect him to rap about the same stuff he did when he was younger perform the same way did when was younger. Rappers get old and change it doesnt they arent as good as they used to. Just means their priorities are different.

  • @Dabeat19 DAMN RIGHT

  • @Dabeat19 people dont realize that spitting fast does not equate to good lyricism. if you rap fast and only rhyme one syllable for every two bars, what does that make you? trash like yelawolf

  • dumb stuff man. why did this happen. i think this f'd alot of things up up. think about it. we would have seen alot more lons and busta wouldnt ever been saying dum stuff like woo- hah or arab money. so gay

  • Busta developed his style copying Biz Markie no question about it.

  • actually busta got his style from the odb so he told the RZA

  • Highly unlikely since Busta was performing before Wu-Tang took off.

  • naw i have the wu tang manual and busta rhymes told the rza personaly that as soon as he heard a odb album he knew how to make a album

  • LOL

  • It's sad that a clown like busta ryhmes got all the money while a talented mc like Charlie Brown got nothing but a "where are they now". Hopefully karma comes back around and bankrupts busta.

  • how is he a clown...like 10 albums later come on man

  • @outlawrw now look at u hatin

  • @outlawrw C Boogie Brown had some mental problems. That's why his solo career didn't take off.

  • One day, we'll know the whole story of LONS. Busta and Brown used to battle before the first album. I guess them 2 never got along.

  • Where ever you are...DO NOT spit on Busta's car even by mistake. He will FUCK YOU UP!!!!!

  • and just when i thought i knew so much about hip hop, wow. i never knew it was physical fights within the group

  • busta was always the crazy wild charismatic one which is why he went so far with his commercial career but pound for pound lyricism c brown and dinco could run circles around this guy. but the biz doesn't reward skills, it rewards hustle.

  • some of the truest words ever spoken

  • Lyrically Dinco yes. C brown, his flow is good but lyrics ain't that strong like Dinco.

C Brown "Wow how, wow how, how now brown cow." that line is kinda wack.

  • @mplays I take you haven't heard Brown's verse on "Classic Material"?

  • @thenewrapstyle Disagree busta had and has the better flows IMO

  • @thenewrapstyle naw, your way off and I will brake it on down why. Had they have the skills to run circles around Busta, they would have but they did not and could not. That was the best they could do, and it did not work. That is why nobody knows who they are today.

  • @thenewrapstyle

they definitely never had near his skill in therms of rhyme or flow or versatility.

  • @thenewrapstyle Bullshit. Bus can spit.

  • @thenewrapstyle You HONESTLY believe that Dinco D and C. Brown are nicer than BUSTA RHYMES??????????????????????????????? come on sunn.

  • @oneme63

Would you let BUSTA RHYMES rub his balls against your chest ???

  • @thenewrapstyle: You are crazy. Busta had his lyrics.

  • @thenewrapstyle i'm sorry, are you implying that busta doesn't have lyrics? get the fuck outta here

  • @thenewrapstyle

You're out of your mind for saying that dumb shit. And I can't believe 30 dumb fucks gave that stupid shit a thumbs up. HA HA HA. Lame. Busta is a freakin' beast. Not so much now, but his 1st three albums at least were fire. And he technically rhymes even better now. Just can't make a good song like he used to. Ask Q-Tip who's the hottest out of LONS--you fuckin' buggin'...

  • everything he said is on point & accurate. it's fuk'd up that he chose a broad over his dudes. the group should've been together @ social functions like greekfest. i always felt bad for dinc, he was caught in the middle of busta's & brown's bullshit. these dudes could've really been huge, and legends like atcq.

  • i dont know bout dudes story....busta knows how he when dinco asked him wats up with us gettin back together...man i feel like yall be botherin me...this was like aroud bustas 2nd or 3rd album

  • @rog815 You got that from a Blaze Magazine article they did on C Boogie Brown and the rest of LONS. I have that issue to. :)

  • I'm a Big fan of LONS and Busta but the interview doesn't make odd to me. if anyone remembers Leaders of the new school video bits on Video-Music -Box, The Box, BET, Rosie Perez Presents Society s Ride, And MTV Busta promoted the shit out of LONS for years and when he did other projects with other artist he was still promoting. so I don't understand Busta's time table cuz after the T.I.M.E.

  • album Busta Rhyme wanted to start his solo carrer and LONS was supporting him by doing a track with busta rhymez on the b-side of his first album and you can hear it from Busta himself on his first album how he was still down. the break up the Busta is talking about is wrong, shit look at the video history and shows LONS did when they were together. the fight he is talking about happen after The time album.

  • I don't know how much I buy all this shit. Those two solo cuts he was talking about must have been re-recorded since LONS is all over them. There's on inconsistency he doesn't mention. And either way I'd rather listen to the two LONS CDs over and over again than anything busta has made in the last decade. He may have gotten paid, but I don't really see the lasting art in a lot of those crappy solo albums.

  • I definitely agree with you on that one. @jsyxx

  • All 4 members should take all that history of infighting, reunite(one time, Bus & D don't have to get along) and turn it into a song.

  • Also I remember a rumor I heard like 10 years ago that Bus and Q Tip had plans on forming a super duo.

  • Just for the record Brown and Milo are cool with Bus. It's Dinco and Bus who are still grudging.

  • Busta was that group if brown had more skill he would've had at least 1 solo record but history speaks for it self

  • Busta is cool and all, but I dunno....he does talk alot of shit. C.Brown was the lamest in the group, but I think Busta is REALLY blowin' things outta perportion.

  • i heard this on the radio he other day busta is my favorite rapper he talk about more then this ~~~~~bust the best~~~~~

  • When I saw the crowd reaction to Busta's "Scenario" verse on Arsenio Hall (remember when he flipped that Dr Suess hat he was rocking?), I knew it was over for LONS. Busta was a star and for some reason Brown was always in the middle or up front like he was the standout. Please.

  • They all complimented eachother on joints like PTA , But Busta with the WILD growling Dugeon Dragon shit was revolutionising EMCEEING at the time "FACT" Theres was nothing like him before or after "FACT" theres no way C Brown could have made as much hits as Busta HAS , IF YOU COULDN'T RECOGNISE BUSTA'S STAR POTENTIAL BACK THEN YOUR JUST PROVING THAT YOU DON'T KNOW THE DEFINITION OF A SICK EMCEE . 20 years later dude is still relevant tells a story in it self

  • @delirious44 True Indeed!!! Alot of emcees have busta in there dna!

  • I was a big L.O.N.S fan back in the day. Dinco D always seemed like the laid back one and CB and Busta seemed big headed. I felt that Charlie Brown could have just as easily blown up like Busta.

  • Im on level 3 Million lol

  • Charlie Brown the best of the leaders of the new school

  • fuck him man sounds like he was a prick i enjoyed his lyrical contributions but he couldnt wait to sell himself out he was alright for a bit but ultimately flopped he should of stayed in leaders of the new school but instead he just tried to use them as some kind of springboard to make himself rich

  • I finally get to hear why they were beefing with each other. Great interview.

  • LMAO

  • I know what went down sounds kinda shady but they were young

  • The "Jedi Mind Trick"....cause niggas wanted a ride.........priceless!!!!!!

  • Feminen fat and SHow me a hero are the shittiest songs on the album. Charlie was so much better than busta.

  • cmon duke! u dont honestly beleive that shit u wrote. BROWN?!??! more skill than BUSTA!?!?! ooooWHATTT?!?! wow son!

  • No joke. Charlie brown had way more skills than busta. You act like Busta was better. Did you even listen to TIME?

  • lol

man listen!!! u gon take ONE SONG and put that up against a discography of 8 albums?! platinum status albums?! and then YES i heard TIME!!! I went to school with these niggas they been in my house. i know they moms and families and vice versa. The skill was eveident way before they was a group. BROWN was the least lyrically skilled out of the group. he was nice but the least nice out the 4 even after Milo when he started rhymin. I gotta respect your opinion though. Salute!

  • lol brown was the wackest nigga in the group...and you saying he was better then busta? who was not only the best in the group but has been called one of the best rappers there is

  • even though busta and brown never got along, personally they had MAAAAAAAD energy onstage. all of that competition amongst the group really helped out their stage show.

  • greekfest was the shit!!!

  • a legend...........

  • fighting sucks..

  • and busta use to drive a blue cavalier...i think it was a 86. i seen him on his way to the studio somewhere by china town nyc

  • AND A RED CHEROKEE JEEP

  • lol when was this??? in 1986??

    funny

when i use 2 live in brooklyn..dat kid was w.spliff star and his car was outside of my moms frend salon..it was a humma and he had on like this leather coat w.sum jewlry on w.his bushi pendant on

and dat was in 2000 ....

so.....dis kid cant be broke...he had sum movie parts and mad club, arena shows..so dat dont add up 2 wat ur saying

  • actually it was around 91 or 92..when the last L.O.N.S album was being made,a friend of mine did the album cover and he told me"yeah they have a studio around china town" somewhere. not too far from laffeyet st.

  • i use to see c, brown by tower records on broadway smoking cigs looking really nervous...real talk

  • L.O.N.S. sounds like they were bitches. But this is only one side of the story..........

  • lol...busta my nigg

  • awesome next Busta interview plz : )

  • Please Do A Follow Up!!!

Wanna Know What Happened In Between "Future Without A Past", Their 1st Album, And "T.I.M.E.", Their 2nd Album.

And How Did They Go About Getting On Busta's Debut CD, "The Coming".

  • busta holdin it down

  • I loved that record! the whole school theme was tight and Feminine Phat was my joint!!

  • dang they used to fight before going on stage thats some wild shit

  • lol Busta is funny nigga , i can only imagin a bunch of knuckle heads tryin to be on level 2 million lol

  • look how the story unfold busta want on 2 sell millions of records an still doin it well charlie probably recycling cans

  • busta you should get CB a record deal. who knows where he's at right now? Prolly under a bridge eating cold beans.

  • or worst

  • lol

  • lmfao

  • no he's a janitor at kings kounty hospital in brooklyn

  • If busta was in the group tribe called...... they would be more legendry then what they are now....
