For anyone still trying to achieve this, I found an even easier way. Someone else mentioned to take out all the guards in the corridor except for the one at the very end. Shoot the wall, run away back to the control room and then continue as usual. This worked for me twice in a row now.

I've been thinking about this cheat and why the guards can open the door without keycards. When you kill jaws and get the smart card and open the glass 2 guards come from the area that you start out in, in an attempt to make it harder by you being ambushed thinking you've routed everyone and beaten the level, and since the glass is bulletproof they have to be able to open it somehow. I believe the bryan guy (best player in the world) wondered if he could use that to his advantage, which he seem

For what it is worth, I have gotten the guards to open the glass door with a weapon out before. It was a laser with Invisibility mode turned on, and the guy did not open the door right away. I was standing right next to him when he did it. Since they could not see me, I had to lure them into the security room by shooting the ground at their feet.

@lordxorus Yeah the whole business of having a gun out or not has no effect. I've tried this many times both armed and unarmed and theres no difference in the success rate.

@DarwenLane I guess it still makes sense to put the gun away for speedrun purposes. If you have the guidance data out, you can run around the guards and upload that instead of spending time shooting them. It's just a little odd that they have robotic gun turrets that are so sophisticated that they can identify invisible people as hostiles, but they cannot change the space shuttle trajectory from the ground by switching out a floppy disk.

Just wondering out of curiousity, which is Darwen's "real" voice in these videos?

I mean on some videos he has a pretty sharp and dark voice (like in this one) but in some others he sounds different (especially on his cheat runthroughs for Train and Caverns).

It's not that hard, either. Just let him see you and he will start shooting, that's when you duck behind a wall and wait for him to run around to you. Before he starts shooting you can easily get chest to chest with him.

jaws is quite easy to kill. All you do is get up as close as possible to him, chest to chest. He is so tall that all he'll do is shoot right over you.

@Smileyfacedkiller The problem with this trick, at least for me, is that Jaws and every other dude in the game randomly hits me anyway, no matter how close I stand.

Heck, I can keep running into their chest and they will still hit me about 20% of the time.

I need help. How do you get it to work? I do everything like you did in the video but the guards either get stuck in the door (disguised as a mainframe) or they stop right in front of the glass door and don't open it. What am I doing wrong? I'm trying to beat Aztec on 00 agent without getting hit and I can manage not getting hit till Jaws, there's no way in hell I could do that so this is the only way I could possibly do it. Please someone, anyone help.

@TheShadow772 I'm not sure what else I can say about the glass door trick other than keep trying. It's not unheard of to go 30+ attempts without it working even once. If you really can't get it to work though, there's a fairly simple way to defeat Jaws that you could try: Simply lure him all the way back to that door disguised as a mainframe and close it before he reaches it. When he tries to open it he'll almost certainly get stuck and hence you can can defeat him with the laser.

@DarwenLane This techniques also has another benefit in that you have enough time to upload the guidance data and launch protocol data before the guards with 2 x Laser (who appear after you defeat Jaws) show up.

@TheShadow772 Not sure if you've got this to work yet but you can open the mainframe for them after going to glass which helps them to not get stuck. If ur slow dont pause for guidance data just stand there until the mainframe closes and then open it for them. Also dont kill the last guard of the 3 on the left and instead just shoot into the wall at the end which will alert the 2 guards used in this vid plus the last guard on the left. Having more guards increases the chances of them opening it

2 if the gaurds can open thedoor glass how come when you kill the gaurds they dont drop a keycard

@goldeneyeplayer 1 getting the guidance data out is just quicker cos u can rush in once the door is open, do the objective and leave without killing guards. But it works as long as u are at the glass when the mainframe closes.

2 All guards on the game can open any door if they are alerted. They dont have to have the keycard.

I think in the mission briefing the shuttle is automated. You're simply instructing it to launch.

don't worry it's a preetty hard trick to do it just takes some practice it took me like 50 tries until i finally started to get the hang of it

i would argue that this is not a glitch. The AI is doing exactly what it was programmed to do. Therefore, I would argue that if you beat the level this way then you deserve the rewards better than someone who did beat Jaws, because you REALLY DID beat the game: you outsmarted the developers. From the perspective of a game designer, I say bravo; I'm really impressed.

Yes your right the AI is doing what it is progammed to do however by doing this you are confusing the AI so the guards open the door because the AI is doing what it is programmed to do for that situation this is someting the designer did not want thus making it a glitch

they shouldn't have granted those guards access to this door. and furthermore if they can open it then why shouldn't we be able to kill them and take they're keycards, instead of Jaws. Jaws isn't anywhere on our objective lists, so i say it's not cheating. That's all I was trying to say.

Thanks. Patience is the key, its not an easy trick to do so keep trying. Do the guards definitely see you beside the glass door before the mainframe closes? If not they wont go near it.

but if the guards are able to open the glassdoor, they should also have the keycard for it. but if you kill them, they do not drop it...its a mistake in the game!

Well technically Jaws might be the only one stupid enough to drop it. Or the guards may have zipped pockets... We dont know. But anyway your right in saying its a mistake in the game because I doubt the game designers ever dreamed it would be possible to open the door any other way than paying Jaws a visit.

and there are also many other mistakes in the game: for example in facility. after you have destroyed the gas tanks, you are going to lose health until you die, but the enemies and also alec are invulnerable. and the biggest mistake that i hate the most, is that you can see people through the doors, if they are standing right behind them.

there's an easier way to open the door:

you can also kill jaws (hidden somewhere in the level) and get the keycard he drops. with that keycard you can open the door.

Yeah thats how its supposed to be done, its not really easier to do though. Doing it this way eliminates a great deal of hassle involved with killing Jaws and all the guards with 2 x moonraker lasers that spawn in the aftermath.

Believe me I've been there. I foolishly forgot to mention the fact that this only happens on very rare occasions. It took me at least 50 goes before i got it to work first and believe me until it finally happened, I deemed it to be impossible. This video itself took me twenty something tries. So keep going, it will happen eventually, i promise.

No problem.  All weapons is not actually the hardest cheat to get, its unlocking the Egyptian level first, to allow you to get it thats tricky. The hardest cheat to get is almost certainly Invincibility, by beating Facility on 00 Agent in 2:05.

That's not too hard. Just random. I've done it 1 min 30 ish. All it depends on is Dr Doak being in the right place. :)

A well placed remote mine halfway between the first steps and the locked door saves a lot of time, kills 3 guys and gets you 60 ak bullets. Just stick with pp7 until you get near the door which gives you Objective A. :)

Cheers. Lol I'm the opposite. I quit playing Goldeneye in 2001 having beaten every level on 00 agent except Aztec (and Egyptian obv). I'd spend hours trying only to fail miserably every time. Wasn't till I heard about this trick last June that I started playing again and I finally beat it. So plenty moral badness for me lol though I can now beat it the "Jaws" way.
