  • The harmonizing totally makes this :)

    So awesome

  • this makes me smile because there are people just having honest fun with what others deem a boring instrument and i love how the piano sound and you sir make me wanna learn

  • I wonder who the douche is that gave this a dislike... I honestly think that anyone that can crack some of the most complex rock ever written needs all around likes.

  • wow! really very good.

  • very nice

  • There was somebody in the background during the "join together with the band" parts.

  • @r5t6y12 Yes, that's my girlfriend. That harmony was very crucial to the song, and I convinced her to help after some subtle coaxing.

  • I like your style stewboz83, I tell you what I would I like to hear you play - ELP Nutrocker - what do you think?

  • Dude, you moved me...you got skills

  • Mesmerizing.

  • Sweet! Love the backup vocals, too!

  • Great job man...ur amazing....the Vocals are great aswell. A++

  • Dude, if your looking to post more videos(especially who videos) I feel you should talk to two musicians on youtube, who do alot of Splendid Who Covers. They've started a Who Cover Group(who record over the internet) called WHO2. The two people are Babyshambler and Garethnh.

  • excellent , just excellent... your voice resembles a lot like Pete's

  • Very nice. And the harmony in the vocals was a nice touch, too.

  • sick

  • When I saw "Join Together (piano)" I laughed. Reality intruded when I started to watch and I became more impressed as you rocked along. Kudos dude. I doubted you could pull it off. I was wrong.

  • Pete Townsend and Roger Daltery would be amazed by this performance

  • BRAVO!

  • sensacional!

  • Wow, LOVE IT. Nice left hand work. I'm ready to join.

  • Love that piano so grungy like the piano my granddad had in his cellar :)

  • Yeah, this piano actually came from a previously flooded lower level room of my high school gym.

  • very very good! pete would appreciate it!

  • Thank you. I hope that he would.

  • Cool arrangement Stew!! nice work

  • Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it

  • @stewboz83 Ive been watching your videos. The rest of the songs i knew what to expect, but before I clicked this link i thought, hows this gonna sound. Very Impressed and amused. CHEERS Mate. I request Slip Kid.

  • haha, I like how you replied to the last nine months worth of comments all in one go. that's awesome.

  • Yeah, I had a rush of energy. Now if I can only keep up from now on.

  • youre welcome

  • I'm not sure. I probably did in order to get a decent mix for the two vocal parts.

  • It's the singer not the song that makes the music move along. Indeedy. And, this here singer/pianist/arranger does a totally bang-up job with the material. All the Ox bass parts are present and accounted for. Nice. Who's providing the vocal harmonies? Pretty original sounding singing voice for the lead. Good luck, mate.

  • Thanks, I did my best with the vocs even though it was a bit out of my range. my girlfriend mary is providing the back up vocs.

  • who's singing with you?

  • Thats my girlfriend mary. Thats her in my profile pic.

  • Nice!!!

  • Thanks a lot!!

  • Good show!

  • Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • amazing!

  • Thank you very much.

  • Jeezo

    maaazin!

  • Thanks a lot

  • wow

    awesome!!!

  • Thank you

  • Such a great tribute!

  • Thank you. I didn't slack off on this one. Or at least, I tried to do it justice.

  • I am floored once again by the talent in this video.

I personally think that Join Together would be perfect for a YouTube mashup of people all over contributing and playing.

    But that's just me.

    You keep it up, stewboz!

  • I agree. The theme of the song is definitely fitting to such an experiment.

  • This is great! Well done, and nice harmonization!

  • Thank you. we practiced for hours.

  • Wow are you singing? too in this

  • Yes. I'm singing lead and my asian lover is singing back up.

  • SWEET!

  • Thanks!!

  • You are a fuckin genius!!!!!

  • Thanks, but I think Townshend is the true genius. I'm just an interpreter.

  • hey , we want some more who stuff from you, i hope you're doing alright and happy new year

  • Thank you. I'm doing well. sorry for the late response. It has just been too difficult to keep up with everyone's comments. And uploading videos for that matter.

  • Amazing dude! Its incredible how you can play all details of music on piano!!!

From your brazilian fan, your videos is very famous here.

  • Thank you, my friend. I'm glad you're able to see my videos.

  • Thank you for the encouraging words. Take care.

  • Cool shit dude,

Good thing you have a good voice, like the female harmonies.

    Good job....

  • Thanks a lot. This one did test my vocal abilities. It fit Mary's range quite nicely though.

  • holy fuck! who knew a complete piano rendition of this song was even possible?! youre bloody brilliant!!!

  • Thanks a lot, man. I worked hard to do it justice.

  • That's amazing. This is my favorite Who song. :)

  • I really like it. I think it is one of the most fun to play for sure.

  • god i love petes harmonica part on piano do you know if theres sheet music for this or if you can make some

  • roger on harmonica surely? lol :) it does sound good on piano xx

  • I thought Roger was playing the Jews Harp and Pete was on the harmonica. At least that it was the music video displays. That might not be accurate though. I'd have to look into it.

  • I don't know if there is, but i don't have time to write out my rendition right now. possibly in the future though. Thanks for the comment.

  • I subscribed to your videos after hearing your other Who stuff, and was excited when I saw this one. I didn't like it at first, but now I keep coming back. A huge well done once again!

What's your next one going to be, do you reckon?

  • Next one will be 5:15 if I ever get my piano tuned again. That has delayed me for months.

  • brilliant! I love 5:15! I can't wait to hear it

  • man people should play piano instead of guitar hero. Your two voices blended well. Brilliant playing.

  • Thank you. Yes, I suck at guitar hero. lol

  • Once again, superb playing and in your face vocals. Keep it up! There are times I play your videos in the morning to prepare me for the day ahead. Thanks!! Keep on keepin' on!

  • Awesome. I'm glad that my videos can offer you a "pick-me-up". Take care.

  • wow

  • Glad it wowed you

  • Fantastic piano playing! Wow!

  • Thank you very much

  • Oh, and for the obligatory follow-on request, I suggest you dip into Pete's solo catalog, and have a go at "Gonna Get You".

  • Thats a possibility

  • Hurray, my request is up! I told you your left hand was gonna love it! This is the most "English" rock song there is, I think; I can't really imagine an American equivalent. Splendid job, especially on the vocalise fifes!

  • Great performance again! I noticed some vocal harmonies there.

  • yeah, my girlfriend mary graciously offered her talents for this one.

  • Good stuff. You should get her to do that more often.

  • Amazing piano friend....I couldnt even dream of being able to hold all of the melodies together especially with singing. Great singing but the Song definitely tests the limits of your voice range though.

  • Indeed it does. Thanks for the comment.

  • nice job

  • Thanks a lot

  • Appreciated Stew-Great version

    Cheers for posting

  • Thank you. I apprciate your comment. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • lol... I don't know if I'm quite up to Mozart's standards, but I appreciate the comparison. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the comment. See ya.

  • Whats up Stew? Awesome vid!! any chance you could do drowned or 5.15? i love that piano riff lol. keep up your good work!! :)

    ~Mrs. Moon :P

  • Hey Mrs. Moon. :P Yes... 5:15!!!!!!! I want to do that one so bad. I have to tune my stupid piano again though. I feel like I should do behind blue eyes so that I'll be popular again. People aren't so much into the album tracks. They need the stuff that gets radio play. Thanks for the comment. Talk to you later.

  • Stew,

As usual, I was mesmerized by those magic fingers! I was really impressed by how well you maintained the integrity of the RHYTHM of the song. Keep up the good work. :)

    KLR

  • Hey. Its Heather, right? yeah I worked really hard to keep that rhythm. I wasn't sure if it would transfer over to solo piano very well, but I think it turned out quite nice. Glad you enjoyed it. Good to hear from you again. See ya.

  • Stew, that was great. Pete would be proud, and the Rabbit would be equally impressed. Keep it coming. G

  • Thanks a lot. You've gone and set me off by mentioning Rabbit though. I really don't like what he does with the Who's music. In my opinion, he stands out too much by playing things that don't fit in with Townshend's original ideas. Anyway, I know he's a talented guy. I just don't like him in the Who. Thanks for watching and commenting. Take care.

  • Sorry about that Stew, I agree, he does embellish a lot on Pete's style and tends to overplay. I saw them in NYC several times dating back to 1979, and again in Vegas in 2006. Mr Brundrick was not at the Vegas show. I think that Pete, as incredible as guitarist that he is, is underrated when it comes to his piano and arranging. And I promise that in the future not to use the "R" word in your presence again. Thanks for the excellent playing. Keep it up.

    George

  • the sound is so raw, awesome!

  • Yeah, I think the rawness does help me a bit. The piano is raggedy but I try to be as accurate as possible with the notes. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and commenting. See ya.

  • you are so professional man. thats some insane piano skills, and the singing is good too.

  • I try to be as professional as possible. I want people to know that I take this stuff seriously. I'm real perfectionist. Catch ya later.

  • to cool

  • Thank you. glad you like it.

  • Just great. Keep at it.

  • Thanks. I plan to. See ya.

  • Wow Stew, I just downloaded this song about 5 minutes ago and now just ran across your take on it. Great stuff man, I enjoy all of your videos!

  • Thanks a lot. Its an awesome song, isn't it? I love pumping the volume on it. That chorus gives me goose bumps.

  • That Was Awesome

you make some of the best who covers ive ever heard, and yet, you only 1 person! "maybe 2 in this case cuz u got a background singer

  • I do my best to hold on to the integrity of the original. Thats one of the main reasons that I asked Mary to sing with me on this one. That chorus is defined by those awesome harmonies. You can't just have one voice singing that chorus. :P. Thanks for the kind words. I hope to get some more poasted up soon. Talk to you later.

  • Five stars & Favorite.

    this is amazing.

  • Well, thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it that much. I worked freakin' hard on it. I didn't think I was ever going to get it up here. Thanks again. See ya.

  • Is that your girlfriend singing harmony

  • Yes ;)

  • Hey sweetie. :x

  • Yep, that's my Mary. She was awesome on it... better than me for sure. :P

  • Incredible man, your piano playing is really genious, The Who is my favorite band and you really impress me. Keep goin, you rock. My request is Sunrise and They are in love. Luck

  • Yeah, "Sunrise" would be awesome.

  • Sunrise is an awesome song, indeed. I will probably get to that one in the next few months. We'll see. Take care.

  • Great as always.

  • Thanks a lot. I loved doing this one.

  • great stuff

  • Thank you!!!

  • I can't get over watching your left with the right hand playing... as they seem soo completely different

and then add on the fact that you are singing as well!

  • Yeah, when I first started learning this one, I didn't think I was ever going to get the coordination worked out, but it came together after a few days of drilling it. It wasn't so hard to sing over it once I got the hands worked out. Thanks for your comments. See ya.

  • awesome! you've done it again!

  • Thank you. I've done it again... after a few months of not doing anything. I've been so lazy.. lol. Catch ya later.

  • Right-o. Is that Mary singing backup on the chorus?

  • Yeah, that chorus just doesn't sound right without the harmony so she helped me out. Thanks for watching.

  • Brilliant.

  • Thanks!!

  • Fantastic.
