@blade911100 hello, my friend...I just subbed you back, and watched one of your vids...nice to see another collector with a wide taste in comics, etc...hope you are having a great weekend
April Kane & The Dragon Lady sounds like a Charlie Chan episode and boy did i love Charlie! Nice find Dan! I also have those Classics Illustrated " The Gold Bug " & Midsummer Night's Dream. Love the DC silver age Superman books. I alway's had an attraction for the goofy and silly stories and covers that was DC during that time! Loved watching this video and wish it was longer even if means you have to spend more money!!heheheh
@captainstrangelife Hi, Hans. I actually have more comics to show, but saving for next vid.I ended up going back to the Big B store a week ago, and the owner had put out a bunch more Classics Illustrated so I bought quite a few, plus you and I have the same taste about the crazy covers that DC did, they had a period where they had either dinosaurs or gorillas, and I still love both. Shhh, don't say money too loud, the wife might hear ya...lol
@captainstrangelife ...and I am a huge fan of Charlie Chan movies, and probably have about twenty of them...the book was a real treat to find, and I am looking forward to reading it...have a good one, my friend
@dakenhowlett ...I love that cover and the stories, particularly the story of the "Goofy" Supes where he purposely leads Lois to believe that's his real face to see if she could still love him...but his face is so much like Alfred E. Neuman from the "Mad" comics that it's hard to read it without laughing...thanks, Chris...
Was that you under all that clown make-up at the start Dan? LOL !!! Great comics and the Classics Illustrated Midsummer Nights Dream cover was just amazing !!!
@GhostCritic ....I just had the urge to put on the clown suit after reading "It!" by Stephen King...lol...I love how a lot of us comic people on Youtube have the same passion for great covers...thanks, Mark...
Just saw the Smokey comic in an atique store last weekend. They wanted $45 dollars for it. The Superman annuals are awesome finds and then the Adventure comic just blew me away! Great stuff!!
@howlermouse ...the Big B store that Scott and I go to had a 25% sale so I got that comic for fifteen bucks which was a sweet deal. I'm a fan of the 80 page giants and giant-size comics mostly because they were my favorite buys as a kid. You got some fantastic reads for a good price although I was into comics in the late 60's and early 70's so I missed the early Superman annuals. The Adventure 130 was something I found on Ebay, and won on an auction. Congrats again on 100 vids...
Just missed out on that Smokey last night, a cool & valuable comic -heh "Daniel Boone was a Maaan..." lol. Nice Supe triple! MAN I totally forgot about that old Superboy Show- That brought back some old feeling and Memories! Well done boys, Brilliant.
@cTcSpirit thanks,my friend, although your singing is almost as bad as mine... :),
I just love adding little clips to my vids when I can, and the Superboy at the circus cartoon seemed to be a perfect choice to end the vid...I watched those when I was younger as well...
@owenneil ...thanks, buddy...I always enjoy seeing the vids when we get a chance to see vintage comics we have never seen before, or they inspire us to find those specific issues for ourselves.
BOZO!!!! Use to watch him all the time, when I was a kid. Gonna have to check out the Bozo comics. Use to have a ton of Classic Comics from the 40's. "Daniel Boone was a man, was a real man"....ooops...sorry! Love the Giant Size Superman's. Wow, never saw the Dragon Lady book, cool! That Tales 59, is on my must get list, nice! That Adventure is nice!!!! Well done Dan!!! LOL, Superboy looks a litle like Tom Cruise!
@hippyscollectables I actually have four of the seasons of Daniel Boone on dvd, but if I had of started singing, everyone would have left the theatre (sort of the way they did in "The Blob"...I remember the Bozo cartoons as a kid, and I've always been a fan of clowns, even going back to the vintage Emmett Kelly paintings. The Dragon Lady was the 1st I had ever seen of it as well. TOA 59 was a steal of a deal. The 40's Adventure was one of those impulse buys. Thanks, buddy...
@TheCapncummings ...that was one weird clown, he actually reminded me of Jack Nicholson in a clown suit doing the circus version of "The Shining" ...."Here's Bozo!!"
VERY nice vintage comics!!
I subbed ya!! Please sub back when you get a chance? I collect vintage comics, sports cards and autographs.
