Actually kids, watch the video again and look at what the flight crew does with the throttles after the initioal glide slope intercept. This is a very common cause of crashes, called throttle reversion. They left the #3 engine, not the #2 engine at idle, so they were doing the approach on only 2 good engines, not three. The #2 engine was already at idle for a thrust reverser unlock light on in flight. They didn't have enough power to maintain altitude and sunk the aircraft into the ground!
@sakoshooter48 Well...technically, if you watch the simulation, the N2 for engine #2 is 0%, because they shut it off. There was a C-5 crash in 1990 from a thrust-reverser deploying after take-off, and I guess they didn't want to take chances, even with the engine at idle. They were trying to make a high-weight emergency landing after all, not the time to mess around. #3 stays at idle after the throttle reversion. Oddly, at 2:01, 32sec before impact, #3 is advanced 15%, but dropped back again.

Actually the USAF has the fewest accidents per flying hour of any other AIr Force in the world. We have more crashes because we fly of shitload of more hours than anyone else.

@planecrazy101ya No, no gear failure. It was pilot error trying to make an emergency overweight landing with the #2 engine out. He throttled the remaining 3 down to idle, and when he put them back up he accidentally advanced the #2 throttle and left the #3 running at idle, so they basically were landing on 2 engines but thought they had 3. So they had the flaps set for like 70deg, which is a bit much even for a 3-engine landing. The drag was too much for 2 engines, and it stalled 2000ft short.
crashed on approach. they experienced an engine problem and shut off a working engine instead. crew error is the main factor. they were air force reserve on a training mission.
Actually they shut down the right engine but on approach swapped the throttle of a running engine for the one they shut off. The real sad thing is if the aircraft had been configured correctly, they could've easily landed on 2 engines. But with flaps landing, heavy because they were loaded with cargo and fuel and using the wrong approach speed, they stalled the aircraft.
